When I begun reading this I had no idea that this novella was set between book so I may have missed some important things. But it was a great read and at that time all the action and narrative plot seemed alright and stood out great on it's own. So that definitely was a plus for me.
Into the evernight follows Thalaj, our main character, on a quest set by the new ruler of his world. Even if he starts the quest with a companion he knows that the weight of the requests fall solely on him, so he devises a plan to finish his mission alone . But what he didn't know was that danger lurks on every forest path...
Thalaj was a great character. While he has some insecurities about his race and upbringing, he tries his best to make up for in strength and agility. But his thinking is flawed because who goes alone into a forest that reeks of death on a mission that ends in death?
I do need to read the whole series to find out more about Thalaj and the other characters.
