Can a broken hero get a second chance at life and love?
Once known as the Iron Eagle of the skies, Eli, a former military hero, now spends his time drowning his regrets in alcohol—until a woman challenges what’s left of his pride.
Yvette, a human with a mission, drags Eli from his pit of misery with a plea he can’t ignore: The world needs you.
And Eli needs something to help him move past grief and guilt.
What this shifter doesn’t expect as he regains his feathery courage, is to fall in love.
But will he have a chance at a happily ever after given the threat facing the world?
Hello, my name is Eve Langlais and I am an International Bestselling author who loves to write hot romance, usually with werewolves, cyborgs or aliens .
I should warn you, I have a twisted imagination and a sarcastic sense of humor something I like to let loose in my writing. While well known for my shifter stories, I am also extremely partial to aliens, the kind who like to abduct humans and then drive them insane...with pleasure. Or do you like something a little darker, more serious? Then check out my cyborgs whose battle with humanity have captivated readers worldwide.
I love a story that is contained within itself but still manages to push along a larger story line, and this was that 10X! While our hero suffers from some serious PTSD and addictions, it doesn’t weigh down the storyline, it is just part of who he is and what he has to deal with every day. Our heroine seems super tough as nails, but we get to see her gooey, soft, centre when she deals with our hero. They also have great heat between them! Throw in some familiar characters, and those we still need to get to know more, and this was a fab listen!

Heather's Notes I enjoy EL's books and I liked reading her series, but it gets a little annoying when she keeps comingling her series. I not up to date on the dragon series and know it is joining this series, which means I need to go back and read them before I go forward with this series. I prefer the Kodiak Point books. Of course, this book is not in Kodiak Point so... I did like Eli. I felt Yvette need to get a grip though. It would not kill her to wear a parachute, in fact it could save her. Taking stupid risk to prove yourself only proves your stupidity. Anyway, I will continue to read because I would also like to know about Jaime and Xavier. However, since it is not part of this series, I will have to figure out which series it is in.
Yvette is tasked with get a squadron together. She is told which ones to get. She goes to get Eli Jacobs and finds a drunk. He refuses at first then changes his mind. Eli ends up not getting sleep because of his nightmares, so Yvette won’t let him train. Then he gets sleep, but keeps everyone else up from him screaming out his nightmares. Yvette discovers a way for everyone to sleep. Will they be able to complete their mission? Will the pull between Eli and Yvette help them or hinder them. Will Yvette’s family welcome Eli or try to eat him? Come on in and find out.
I would have given it 5 stars but I was kinda sad with the ending. It was just way too short for my liking. I did thoroughly enjoy reading it. Loved the characters and storyline so much. Eli was so troubled after the failed mission that he couldn’t pick himself up until Yvette came along. Her brothers were funny. I didn’t expect what they did to Eli. Just too short of an ending. On to my next series. ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️💜💜💜💜💜🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I enjoyed this book. You can feel the troubled soul of Eli and the courage of Yvette. Add some great chemistry and smexy times, overprotective brothers, crazy dragons and you have fun times guaranteed. I loved two POV and mentions of some familiar characters. All in all, enjoyable light read, looking forward to the next one.
Langlais builds world where super and natural get along and better. Shapeshifters assemble for mission against bad genies. Human leader fetches drunk Eagle. Independent-minded dragons scout.
Unimaginative curses not for me. Girl and guy hot for other from start. Mid-series means surrounded by couples and yearning pairs.
Loved how this book is one major crossover with all the characters being from different series within the Kodiak Point spin-off series 👏 😀 👍. Main couple has great chemistry and loved his interactions with her family too. Lol. Can't wait too see if the next book will be her brother and her best friend finally getting together ❤️ 💗

Loved the characters and the storyline and couldn't put it down and can't wait to read more in this series so it's a well deserved five stars and I would recommend this book to everyone
The ending seemed VERY rushed. I really enjoyed reading it, but it would have been so. Much better if the author took more time on when Ivy and Eli declare their love, family meeting, and wedding.
Who doesn't love stories about ex-soldiers suffering from PTSD beginning to live and love again after years of waddling in the pain of memories of failed missions. All I can say is that I wish it was longer
You have a war vet that is suffering from Survivor's guilt and does not know what tondonwith himself other than trying to wipe out his memory of the past. When it is all said and done, he steps up to the plate and proves his worth.
