The Packrat Sampler

Rate this book
Since 2005, The Packrat has been a favorite of synthesizer and rodent fans alike. This potentially brilliant comic strip appeared in Keyboard Magazine monthly from 2010 and 2015 (as well as for a few months back in 2005 - 2006). Many of those comics, along with a few surprises, are hereby assembled in this 2012 collection, which you might just cherish more than your whole keyboard collection.

Included in this full-color, 62-page paperback are approximately 50 comic strips which appeared in Keyboard Magazine, some assorted extra drawings and comics previously seen only online, and a bonus 12-page adventure, "Synthesizer Pugilistic Exposition Goes Nuts."

All remaining copies of this book are exclusively available through the Bob Moog Foundation, or at the Moogseum in Asheville, NC.

About the author

I have been, in my life, a radio air talent, a video store owner, voiceover talent, a LEGO parts salesman, the inventor of a 101-gesture version of Rock-Paper-Scissors, a video game designer, a font designer, a TV graphics guy, a keyboard and keytar player for at least a dozen bands, a surf drummer, the animator of an official Weird Al Yankovic music video, and even a cat Photoshopper. I'm overjoyed that I can now add "novel writer" to this insane list.

My YouTube videos (mostly musical in nature) have been seen millions of times on YouTube, and my lewd, animated characters have been seen online over a 100 million times. I love all kinds of music but very rarely listen to any of it, except when my girlfriend Tricia and I sing karaoke together in her tiki bar. Speaking of which, I play daddy to a gorgeous bengal cat named Tiki, and over the years I've also raised five hamsters, a mouse, a rat, a rabbit, tons of cats and dogs, but never a donkey. I don't take nearly enough vacations, but I have been to all 48 contiguous states, inasmuch as I plan to return to all of them with Tricia in an RV when we're older, visiting as many covered bridges as possible (we keep a list of over 450 bridges we've visited, and the list keeps on growing!).

My favorite drinks are mai tais, manhattans, and aviations, and Tricia and I make them better than anyone. When you see me in public, I'll be wearing a black T-shirt, jeans, my Dad's old Hamilton watch, and checkered sneakers to match my armband tattoo.
