Matt I’m a playboy, a modern-day Casanova. I don’t love women, I just make their orgasm dreams come true. That’s who I am. She’s the coach’s daughter and the ultimate ice princess - always cold, composed, and spoiled. We have nothing in common, until she makes a proposition I can’t turn down. I’m only human after all, and she’s hot. It doesn’t mean anything. It’s just sex.
Nikki I’ve always done what’s expected of me, but when the rug gets ripped out from under my so-called “perfect” life, I decide to finally do something for myself. He’s cocky and a total manwhore, but despite my initial objections, I can’t deny that the idea of using him to enhance my experience in the bedroom is an appealing one. I make him an offer that I expect him to scoff at - but he doesn’t. Now I’m questioning everything.
Down by Contact is a steamy standalone sports romance. It is book three in the LA Wolves series.
Cadence Keys writes steamy contemporary sports romances about complex alpha males and the women who love them. She loves football, coffee, and watching Gilmore Girl marathons. She has been writing for almost a decade, but only recently got the gumption to really do something with her work. She looks forward to publishing many more novels, specifically her LA Wolves series.
I am blown away by the fact that this is only Cadence Keys 3rd full length novel! It was so well written and entertaining, I could not put it down until I finished every last word!! Ms. Keys tells a wonderful story filled with lovable characters who have depth, flaws and foibles that the reader can understand and relate to. In this case, the story is about Nikki, the good and dutiful surviving daughter who does everything her parents ask of her since the loss of her older sister. On her own merit and with hard work, she has worked her way up in the marketing and promotions department of the LA Wolves professional football team where her father is the head coach. She learns she has to run a campaign promoting the team’s man-whore, as she likes to call him, Matt Fischer, tight end (who happens to be at the top of his game), as the face of this season’s LA Wolves. Matt is everything any woman could physically want in a man - he is physical perfection in face and body - and he knows it and uses it to his gain with anything female that moves near him. He is also the last person Nikki would have chosen to represent the team because he is such a womanizer, and "a walking STD." Nikki dislikes being around him because he calls her Princess and makes her uncomfortable, and is always getting her flustered. Matt does this deliberately because he thinks she is so gorgeous when riled, even though she is cold and professional every time he has interacted with her. Matt figures her father did all the heavy lifting to get his daughter to the top of the marketing and promotions department, unlike he did. Matt worked his butt off all his life, at the same time caring for his father from too young an age, to get where he is. Neither Matt nor Nikki think highly of the other, although that would not stop Matt from taking her to his bed if given the chance. But Nikki and Matt's chemistry every time they interact is in the stratosphere burning, burning, and burning more, even though Nikki is engaged and living with her fiancé, a man who steamrolls over her in every way imaginable. As they begin to work together, each is forced to reevaluate their opinion of the other. Matt is not really as he appears - only chasing skirt - he has been taking care of his alcoholic father since his mother ran out on them when he was a child and his father's condition has deteriorated considerably. His parents are the reason Matt doesn’t date women - he only has sex with them because he learned from them that love destroys a man, just look at his father who used to be normal, fun-loving and very attentive to his son before his mother left. The story had surprises and a solid plot line that kept me reading, laughing, crying and turning on the A/C, and Ms. Keys words were easy to read and digest because they flowed smoothly with no transition bumps from one narrator’s point of view into the other’s. I truly enjoyed this novel so much that I cannot wait for the next book in this series to come out. Until that happens, and since this is my first Cadence Keys novel, I will find the other two she has already published and keep myself busy reading them until her next one is completed! You really do need to read this one!!!
This is the 3rd full-length novel in the LA Wolves series.
Nikki is the manager of the marketing and promotions departement of the professional footballteam LA Wolves. She is also the coach’s daughter and off limits for all his players.
Nikki will be leading this new LA Wolves campaign with Matt Fisher as the head of the campaign. Matt is the tight-end of the LA Wolves footballteam and a womanizer.
Nikki and Matt don’t like each other, every interaction in the past couple of years has been tense.
When Nikki calls off her engagement and ends her relationship, she wants to change her life.
For years Nikki has been living for others, especially after the loss of her sister. Now it’s time to choose for herself and she starts with making Matt an offer he can’t refuse. . I love stories with multiple perspectives. We get to know both Matt and Nikki. Their personalities, feelings and struggles.
When Nikki and Matt start working together they have to reevaluate their opinion about the other, it’s hard to deny the attraction and feelings. The chemistry between Nikki and Matt is hot!
This story is about two people with a difficult childhood who find comfort in each other, when they don’t expect it. The only downside was the epilogue. To me it felt too soon after 6 months.
I love Cadence’s writing style with the likeable characters and the book titles with football rules.
So if you like a steamy sport romance you should definitely read Down by contact and the other LA Wolves novels too. My fav so far is In the grasp.
This is book three in The L A Wolves Series and it is Nikki and Matt's story and omg you are in for an emotional ride. Nikki is the manager in the marketing department for the wolves and she is also the coach's daughter but when she is told that they are using Matt Fischer to head the wolves campaign she is shocked as not only is he a womanizer but it will be Nikki that will have to work with him. Matt plays for the wolves and lives for his career and knows that he is good at what he does and he is also a ladies man and he is a one and done type of person so no commitment of relationships for him but at the moment he is restless and he doesn't know why so when his agent tells him that he has been chosen as the new head of the wolves campaign he is hopeful that this will take him out of his funk until he is told that he will have to work with Nikki the ice princess and that takes the wind out of his sales but he realised that it will only be for a few months so he will just get on with it. When Nikki finds her fiance in there bed with there wedding planner all bets are off as she walks away from the relationship. Nikki and Matt have such strong chemistry that you can feel it sizzling of the pages of this book and I couldn't put it down as it was so addictive and a real page turner with lots of surprises along the way and it was so emotional that I ended up crying so many times. This book is a must read and you will definitely not be disappointed as Cadence Keys is an amazing author and writer and her books are definitely worth and and I look forward to reading many in the future.

This is a well written book with strong characters in Nikki and Matt. The author does a terrific job building the story and brings all the feels in this emotional read. The characters are believable and their chemistry sizzles. She brings the heat ,adds in a few surprises and delivers a true page turner. The story moves fluidly with vividly painted scenes and is a fantastic read. Loved and am looking forward to the next book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Matt and Nikki were written as very likable characters and were great as a couple. It was enjoyable to see Matt’s evolution from a man whore. This book contains a couple sex scenes of the hero with other women before he meets the heroine, which is something that is a bit of a book killer for me normally. This time I was okay with it, but only because the scenes were very short and a minor blip in the story.
This is a good book and I recommend it.

Nikki and Matt are drawn to each other even though they think they can't stand each other. When Nikkis perfect life takes a sudden nose dive she decides Matt looks like a good distraction.
While the steam in this book is top notch, but it's not just about the heat. Both Nikki and Matt have a lot of growing up to do and the author handles some difficult topics really well.
I've read all of the books in the series but I think you can still pick this up and enjoy it on its own.
First time reader for Cadence Keys and I can't wait to check out the rest of her work!
This was a one-day read for me. What a great forbidden romance/friends with benefits story! This story was unique and had perfectly relatable yet each flawed characters. It was unique in the fact that it wasn't just the woman that started catching feelings right away.
Cadence did a great job with creating characters that suck you into their pain and have you rooting for their growth and the happy ever after they are working so hard to get to. Supporting characters were awesome and I can't wait to check out past stories and to see what is next to come for the LA Wolves series.
This is a new author for me and this story did not disappoint, l really loved it, fabulous characters and great writing made this a book l couldn’t put down. Excellent.

This was such a wonderfully penned and plotted sports romance story, it kept me captivated throughout, and left my heart so darn happy! Absolutely loved this book!! From beginning to the end, I loved everything about it. Definite must have on read again list!! Happy reading everyone!!
I absolutely loved this book and was honored to have been able to read and review. It was such a phenomenal read and had amazing characters as well as an amazing story line. I just could not get enough of it and once I started reading it I could not put it down. I recommend that you read it.
Ever since her sister died, Nikki is trying to be the perfect daughter and do everything her parents ask of her. Being the daughter of the football team coach, Nikki is used to being around football players but the only one that bugs her out is Matt Fisher who always calls her “Princess”. When Nikki learns he will be the face of the football team for the new marketing campaign, she unpleasantly surprised because he is a known womanizer. Nikkis is definitely not looking forward working closely with Matt. However, after breaking off her engagement with her cheating fiancé, Matt Fisher is what she needs. Matt Fisher is a notorious playboy but what no one knows is Matt takes care of his alcoholic father ever since his mom run out on them when he was a child. And that is the reason Matt doesn't date. He believes that love can destroys a man, the same way his father was ruined after his love left him. Matt is not looking forward working with the spoiled princess but after a heated moment between them, she is the only one he wants. The storyline is very dynamic and entertaining, filled with sizzling sparks, undeniable attraction, steamy hot scenes, drama and unexpected twists. I voluntarily reviewed this book after receiving a free ARC.
This is the story of two people who are not really what they seem. Their lives were not easy, their success not just handed to them by someone but actually something they worked very hard to achieve.
Matt Fischer is going to represent the LA Wolves and Nikki is to run the campaign promoting him. He is a player with the ladies and she disregards all the hard work he put in to get where he is on the team. When Nikki gets cheated on by her overbearing fiancé, he gets rid of him and takes her best friend’s advice about seeking Matt’s services in a wild streak of rebellion.
This was actually a good choice because each of them have an opportunity of being together and getting to know the person behind the “mask”. So Nikki makes him an offer and, to her surprise, he accepts it. They may just discover some very important things about each other, and about themselves, along the way. Grab your copy and appreciate their story.
Another strong book to add to the series, this sees lady’s man Matt find his HEA with the least likely of suspects.
Matt is starting to dislike his whorish ways and starts to crave a more long loved type of romance. Nikki has it all until she doesn’t, and even then continues to please no one but her parents, even herself.
A well written story with dynamic likeable characters and an engaging plot line.
I loved how some of the series earlier characters popped up again, always a winner for me with a series, but the book was very focused on the story and romance developing between Matt and Nikki.
I did get a little weary with the sneaking around and her fathers behaviour, but overall felt the storyline worked well

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. The third book in the LA Wolves series is about Nikki and Matt. He is the team star and admitted playboy. She is the daughter of his coach and always does what everyone else wants of her. They both choose to do something out of character for them. Matt thinks a relationship might be what is missing while Nikki is deciding what she actually wants to do. They are thrown together for work and find am attraction they cannot deny. This story will have you feeling highs and lows throughout. I enjoyed the characters and their story was a good one.

There is cheating in this, all it took was just a few words from a character and I knew instantly who it was with, so be warned about that. I really enjoy reading about strong female characters but I feel Nikki never reached that. She had issues that seriously needed a therapist. She was driven to being a doormat by those issues. Then there is Matt the manwhore who needed his own therapist for using sex to hide his own issues. At least he redeemed himself to an extent. These two, whose relationship is built on lust and deceiving themselves, pure and simple. Maybe this particular book wasn’t for me but I look forward to reading the others in the series.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Down by Contact is the third book in the series LA Wolves. I thought it was a good opposites attract, but really more alike than they think, sports, romance story. It was emotional, and the twists kept it engaging. Nikki and Matt were likeable, and they sure had a steamy attraction towards one another. Cadence Keys is a new author to me, and I enjoyed her sports romance. Although I haven't read the other stories in this series, I had no problem reading Down by Contact, however I would recommend you start at the beginning so you can get to know some of the characters that make an appearance in this story. I know I will be going back and reading them.
This is the 3rd book in this awesome series and is Matt and Nikki’s story. Matt is the tight end and is a cocky playboy, while Nikki is the coach’s daughter. Neither have the best of opinions about each other, as Matt calls her “Princess” which she hates, and he assumes that she is only in the job she is because of her dad, which could not be further from the truth. When Nikki must run a campaign about Matt, she is less than impressed. This is a well written story which has engaging and realistic characters and is an entertaining and steamy sports romance. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
I loved the other books, but this by far the best one(yet?) I love the love/hate and the getting on each others nerves. Everybody deserves a guy like him(except the rule only sleep with a woman once), giving you more confidence, getting you out of your comfort zone and treats you like a princess. I laughed and cried reading this book. And I couldn't be happier when they finally got their happy ending.

Matt & Nikki have hidden their true self from almost everyone. Together they overcome multiple obstacles to get their HEA. Lots of twist and turns in the plot.
Loved this! Nikki & Matt don’t seem to like each other very much .... but those sparks? That’s not just jabs and glares, it’s heat. They try a frenemies with benefits deal and things get complicated.
These two are opposites but are alike in many ways.
This was the second book I read by this author in this series. I thought it was a well-written sports novel with a palpable chemistry between the main characters. Also in this book the emphasis was on the romance that develops between the main characters.
Pretty good romance. Matt and Nikki are the perfect couple. Just didn't like how a 28year old woman would let her dad boss her life. Matt drew her out and made her love him. So it was a good story.
Matt and Nikki’s story is one worth reading. Both characters have much self-analysis to go through before finding their joint happily ever after, together.
I was given this ARC copy for a great review. Matt Fischer, the all-star quarterback on the LA Wolves is known for being a player with the ladies. He's always good for giving the big O. Nikki is the daughter of the head coach and is strictly off limits to all the team players. Nikki gets cheated on by her fiance and after ridding him from her life, her best friend says she needs to relieve some tension and knows just the guy to call. Before her best friend, even says his name, she knows it's going to be Matt Fischer. Can enemies become lovers, read and see. Cadence Keys will definitely be in my Top 21 of '21 this year.
I swear this series keeps getting better and better! Matt and Nikki have such great chemistry and I really felt the author found her groove with this book (though I’ve loved them all). I’m still new to the world of romance novels, but I can’t wait to see what else Cadence Keys comes out with!
Matt and Nikki can't stand each other. She thinks he is a womanizing playboy, and he thinks she is a stuck-up princess. When they get thrown to work together on a campaign, sparks fly and sizzle. Their passion overwhelms them and runs out of control. Nikki propositions Matt on a deal that will allow them mutual satisfaction and he agrees. Little did they know that they would start to like each other and have feelings. However, there is a lot that they need to work through if they want to stay together forever.
I thoroughly enjoyed this romance as we get to see the characters' hidden and more vulnerable side. The LA Wolves series has been fun to read so far.
I received a free advanced review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my fair and honest opinion.
