Mark Atwood is an author, and a practitioner of his indigenous religious tradition, which is a branch of the ancient Religion of the Sun. He writes from decades of metaphysical practice and experience. Mark descends from some of the first settlers of Britain, who were curly haired and spoke an ancient language related to Basque, and who helped build many ancient megalithic sites aligned to the sun, as well as those Indo-Europeans who migrated into the British Isles over 4,500 years ago, who practiced an ancient form of sun worship. He lives in seclusion and is not involved in the public, in order to devote himself to his spiritual journey, though continues to write. He is married to Lara Atwood.

I am still reading this book, but just after the first chapter I knew I have a true gem in my hands.

I thoroughly recommend this quite a thick book to anyone interested in ancient religions, spirituality, cosmology and most importantly in finding out the reason for why are we all here.

The mystery and wonder of humanities spiritual search throughout time is carefully explained in this extensively researched work. From the worldwide alignment of ancient megalithic civilisations to modern times the path of the Sun throughout the seasons has been a constant source of change within our physical world but also holds a symbolic spiritual representation that has an integral relationship to each individual. This book explores this relationship and its celebration throughout time and how people today can realign with this ancient practice through ceremonial appreciation of the solstices and equinoxes. This is a must read for anyone interested in the mysteries of human civilisation and personal spiritual development.

I was utterly surprised when I began reading this incredible work (still am).

It was astonishing to see the links and associations of the sun, its meaning & symbology, and the many civilisations across the earth which have collectively understood this and celebrated it.

Delving into the meanings of the Equinox's and Solstices was profound.

What the author has accomplished in this book in nothing short of remarkable.

This is not a book that I mark as 'Read'. It is a book that works like a map or a guide which you have to use for your personal spiritual research. Incredible, unthinkable work! Thank you
