Her professional background combines counseling, writing, and extensive speaking about parenting and adoption issues for organizations such as Bethany Christian Services and the National Council for Adoption. Jeannie also enjoys blogging on her website (www.jeanniecunnion.com), serving as the Council Co-Chairman at Trinity Church in Greenwich, CT, and leading various parenting courses and Bible studies when she and her husband Mike aren’t cheering on their three boys at one of their sporting events.

I have never heard of this author/teacher so I didn’t have high expectations for this study. Honestly, I thought it was going to be a lot of parenting fluff. But it has been so deep and rich and meaningful…just what I needed as a parent of kids old enough to begin making their own choices and decisions (both good and bad). This was much more of a study of the Holy Spirit’s work in us as parents than it is any methods/formulas for child rearing. I particularly appreciated the emphasis on the fact that we are not our children’s Holy Spirit nor their Savior. That is reserved for God alone, but we can and should model what a spirit-filled life looks like and pray fervently that they choose to life a life empowered by the Spirit. Highly recommend!

One of the BEST Bible studies I have ever done. I enjoy how it’s laid out and how scripture is the focus. Too many studies are short on scripture in context. The combo of looking things up versus having them in the text is nice.
Easily done alone as well as in a group setting.

This is a study about parenting in the power of the Holy Spirit but I found the most benefit from the education on who the Spirit is and what He does. Even if your children are grown but you want education on who He is, this would be beneficial.

I loved this study SO much! I learned so much about the power of the Holy Spirit and loved Jeannie Cunnions way of teaching and asking questions. I bought this years ago as an idea for Moms Group as it is a study about “parenting in the power of the Holy Spirit” but the more I did I was wishing it was a more general book for any person because it was that insightful and valuable to me as a learning tool! She even wrote me an email and shared that she wrote a book about this topic that would be great for a more general audience (which I bought) so I’ll look forward to that too. I highly recommend this as a topical study for any parent/Mom and I will turn back to it again I am sure!

First time doing a study by this author. It’s not pretentious. It’s very real, refreshing, and relatable. Focuses on not living in shame etc and helps give up a lot of negative preconceptions. Lovely and helpful study. Definitely recommend.

A wonderful in-depth look at the Holy Spirit itself (history, gifts, power, etc…) & how to parent in the power of the Holy Spirit. Not only is this book great for educating & encouraging parents, but there are also many great scripts to use to teach & encourage kids.
