Generating publicity is a journey that requires persistence as well as proper planning. In Publicity, veteran publicist David Carriere guides readers through the sometimes mysterious and often intimidating process of generating publicity while spelling out the details needed to orchestrate a successful publicity campaign. With twenty years of experience, Carriere's seven-step program outlines everything needed to create a comprehensive, systematic, and efficient method to publicize just about anything, anywhere, anytime.
With over twenty years of experience as a publicist, David Carriere began his career publicizing books in 1986. He honed his professional techniques on both coasts at numerous publishers, including HarperCollins and Chronicle Books. In 1999, David launched his own publicity firm and now handles the publicity needs of a select few clients across a wide variety of industries.
While it has some insightful points and tips, I found the book was very sparse in real genuine offerings. It targets new publicists, or people interested in the field without a working knowledge. I fit the bill, yet I found the majority of the advice offered to be common sense. I think the book could have been effectively relayed in a ten page paper.
