Klajv Stejplz Ljuis (1898–1963) – vydajuschijsja britanskij pisatel, avtor znamenitogo tsikla "Khroniki Narnii", summarnyj tirazh kotorogo prevysil 100 millionov ekzempljarov. Odnako Ljuis takzhe shiroko izvesten kak avtor filosofskikh rabot o khristianstve, v znachitelnoj mere otrazivshikh ego lichnyj religioznyj opyt. V podrostkovom vozraste Ljuis otoshel ot very pod vlijaniem ateisticheskikh vzgljadov svoego uchitelja, odnako k 30 godam, teper uzhe pod vlijaniem universitetskogo okruzhenija i odnogo iz luchshikh svoikh druzej – Dzhona R.R. Tolkina, vnov obratilsja v anglikanskuju veru. K kontsu zhizni on nachal sklonjatsja k katolitsizmu i prinjal poslednee prichastie po katolicheskomu obrjadu.V sbornik vkljucheny tri klassicheskie raboty Ljuisa po apologetike khristianstva – "Prosto khristianstvo", "Ljubov" i "Stradanie". Klajv Stejplz Ljuis, odnim iz pervykh khristianskikh filosofov XX veka, vydvinul smeluju ideju "ekumenicheskogo khristianstva", ne svjazannogo s opredelennoj konfessionalnoj prinadlezhnostju. Istinnaja vera ne imeet nichego obschego s raznoglasijami razlichnykh otvetvlenij khristianstva, i imenno v etom, po mneniju Ljuisa, zakljuchaetsja sut "prosto khristianstva".
