This book 😭❤️❤️ the Heal and Grow sections resonated so hard. I usually annotate/highlight every now and then as I read but those sections I highlighted almost every single one ❤️ so many beautiful poems and I loved the “reflect” journaling sections. Made it such a personalized, in depth read as I connected the poems and feelings I had to my own experiences. Absolutely love Pierre Alex Jeanty and his beautiful way with putting the human experience to words.

TW: 3 poems had references to god/prayer

4.5.
For the most part I liked many of these quotes. A lot of encouragement for moving forward with growth and loving without fear.

A fave:
“…Please don’t ever think that leaving life is how you welcome better.
Trust me,
I’ve been where you are.
Better will show up…”

This book is filled w/ “inspirational” tidbits designed to encourage healing from pain, growing past that pain, and finding a way to love oneself. It’s okay but not literary or unique. Still, I understand the appeal. Each second is followed by a few empty pages for reflection. These include prompts. It’s a good starting place for younger women unaccustomed to more research-based self-help books and those who don’t read poetry as self-help texts.

This was recommended to me by a therapist. I found the poems to be words of encouragement as you work through the healing process. For me it was a thought provoking read. In order for growth to occur you need to heal. Once the healing and growth has started love will find it ways into your soul. That will help aide more purely and deeply for you to love someone else and/or others.

This is a good book if you’re going through a breakup. I feel better hearing his words. I needed a reminder that healing, growing, loving yourself is what I need. Not some boy

I can perfectly understand why so many therapists have recommended this book to their patients.

It’s a short read in length but deep in content. Without great expectations, it takes us on a journey of healing and growth, wrapped in love and resilience. The true protagonist is self-love, something we often forget in the world we live in. That’s why books like this one feel like an oasis in the desert that life sometimes becomes.

Personally, it helped me reconnect with poetry and begin to rebuild myself after experiencing a loss. We all go through similar moments—whether it's a breakup, the loss of a loved one or a friend, or even material losses, related to work or to our own expectations—and the emotions we feel are beautifully captured in this short collection of poems.

I bought it as a gift, and it probably won’t be the last time I do so.

Some quotes I highlighted during my reading:

"Broken things can never come back to the way they were. But broken hearts can heal."
"We often don't like change, but it's our only hope to discover more and better."
"You miss what used to be, but you also are missing the better that is coming."
"You may never lose shade from lightning other's candles, but you can eventually burn out."
"There's no better way to proclaim your love for yourself than forgive yourself."

"...Healing is often not what we plan and expect, it's always all that we need to accept and embrace -the boat doesn't tell the river where to go."

I can think of few things better to start off 2023 with than with the words of Pierre Alex Jeanty contained in these pages. My copy is riddled with tabs that I find myself returning to in order to appreciate the way the words land again. The poems are versatile enough to speak to individuals dealing with all walks of healing, yet not so vague as to feel impersonal. I loved that each section was followed by writing and reflection pages, ending with a section to follow up with in 3 months time. It

It's the book I didn't know I needed until I had it and I will recommend it to anyone willing to listen-or needing comfort and tough love as they navigate this life.

My favorites:
Crowns fall.
They shift out of place.
Adjust yours and remind yourself who you are.

Take your heart back from them.
They’ve taken enough already.
Don’t let them continue to take what they shouldn’t have access to.

Apologies trapped in throats of the guilty shouldn’t hold your innocence hostage.
It will track your peace, but never give it the freedom to become your master.
-be the one who apologizes to you.

The words on these pages resonated so much with me. I am in the midst of the largest Heal Grow Love space that I've ever encountered and so I am so grateful that this book has been all over social media for some time now.
The book reads like a collection of poems but without all of the abstract meanings. A beautiful rendering, to say the least. If you're on your own personal healing journey or even realize that you just need more/better, this is a resource you'll want in your toolkit.

This book is very helpful for when you are trying to get over someone. I found myself reading it when I was struggling a little more than usual, and it left me feeling a little better about myself. I would highlight some of the phrases that I related to the most, and it helped me during my first year of college.

This book was sent to me from an old friend. I really enjoyed how several sections could be applied not just to heartbreak but other difficult events in one’s life. Will look into other works by Pierre Alex Jeanty in the future.

Pierre is always perfection! The way the book is broken into 3 different sections and allows for reflection is amazing, it really causes you to reflect and ask yourself questions. This book is definitely something to think about.

I enjoyed the first two parts a lot. Was a bit surprised by the prompts inside that you could fill out, but it also helped you really think about what you've gained from reading the parts and want to adapt towards your own future way of being.

Not particularly a fan of this book.

I have been reading a lot of poetry or healing books but this one did not give me the points to like it like the other ones did.
I couldn't like understand 2-3 things and that's why i am giving it a 2⭐

Our eyes tend to recognize only what they are familiar with, what they have seen before. ✨

Those who left us don’t have the right to build
homes in our minds
and invite all the what-ifs to dinner.
You gave them an inch
and now you’re giving them a foot. ✨

Not at all what I thought it would be. Not even enough inspiration for me to dog-ear pages to look back on. Disappointing
