Początek czwartego tomu dla tytułowego Onizuki, jest dosyć nerwowy. Rada szkoły wraz z wicedyrektorem chcą bowiem zrobić wszystko, aby go zwolnić. Niespodziewanie w jego obronie staje część uczniów, a na światło dzienne zaczynają wypływać pewne niewygodne dla niektórych prominentnych osób fakty. Koniec końców, wszystko kończy się dobrze, a „najlepszy z nauczycieli” dalej może „kształcić” młodzież. Jeśli ktoś myśli, że wydarzenia te wpłyną jakoś na Onizukę i spowodują zmianę jego zachowania, to mocno się myli. Ktoś taki jest niereformowalny, dzięki temu my, śledząc jego losy, kolejny raz możemy oddać się porcji zwariowanej rozrywki.

Opisane powyżej problemy, „spotkanie” z rodzicem ucznia, wieczorne eskapady na miasto, zmagania sportowe. Tego typu treści znajdziemy w czwartym tomie serii i możemy być pewni, że pomimo wielu lat na karku, historia nadal jest zniewalająca i rozbrajająca. Z wielką przyjemnością obserwuje się jak autor przesadnie ukazuje siłę i szczęście głównego bohatera. Humor podsypany solidną szczyptą braku poprawności politycznej jest tutaj oczywiście tylko lukrem skrywającym coś więcej. Toru Fujisawa kolejny bowiem raz nie boi się pokazać nastoletnich dramatów, nękania w szkole czy ogólnych problemów społeczeństwa Japonii lat 90.

To właśnie tego typu treści stanowią trzon całego scenariusza i powodują, że tytuł jest zdecydowanie czymś więcej niż tylko głupkowatą komedią. Teraz z perspektywy czasu można mangę uznać za naprawdę ciekawy socjologiczny obraz społeczeństwa sprzed ponad dwudziestu lat. Treści tego typu doceni się jednak tylko i wyłącznie, jeśli nie odrzuci nas wierzchnia warstwa specyficznego humoru (często skrajnie sprośnego).

Rasa jijik dan gelak tawaku jadi campur-aduk di volume ini. Di sisi lain tindakan Onizuka dalam mengatasi ulah para murid bandelnya benar-benar di luar nalar dan bikin ngakak. Misalnya adegan waktu dia menggunakan permainan Kokkuri (angel san, atau permainan semacam jailangkung dan oujia ala Jepang) untuk membalas ejekan Murai dkk, dan tindakannya yang sengaja membiarkan Murai dkk dikerjain preman sebagal pelajaran karena sudah mengerjainya di permainan bowling (sebelum akhirnya mengambil tindakan untuk membereskan para preman itu).

Tapi di sisi lain banyak juga adegan yg bikin HOEX. Kencing darah si wakil kepala sekolah yang stress karena kebenciannya pada Onizuka, gambar tinja, adegan Onizuka mandi telanjang di atap sekolah (meski cuma diperlihatkan dari belakang STILL! Ya Allah... mangaka edan! :v), dan karakter guru olahraga munafik yang sok jago dan mesum, Fukurokoda.

Cerita baru terasa begitu menyentuh saat karakter Tomoko (yang saking begonya dipanggil dengan Toroko, nama panggilan untuk anjing) yang helpless karena dipermainkan dan dimanfaatkan oleh Miyabi dkk... Ya ampun...

Pernah gak menertawakan teman bareng geng karena menganggap si teman itu lemot? Pernah memikirkan perasaan teman yang dijadikan bahan tertawaan itu? Baca volume GTO yang ini (dan juga volume berikutnya) biar lebih peka lagi jadi manusia.

What's cool (or rad or dope... pick your fashionable superlative) one decade is embarrassing and passe the next. One could hope that's the case with the Neanderthal junior high humor of GTO, which apparently was a hugely popular manga title. It's all F-cups and supposedly testosterone-fueled stunts. It's a juvenile eat-your-own-boogers, look-at-my-manliness buffoon-fest with a dose of misogyny and hating people with disabilities thrown in (see the Tomoko Nomura subplot). The middle and high school kids I know are light years beyond this.

Je trouve que GTO c’est vraiment plus drôle en animé qu’en manga. Le seiyu apporte vraiment quelque chose au personnage d’Onizuka et même l’animation rend les blagues plus percutantes. Je me souviens de rire aux éclats devant les épisodes alors que là en lisant c’est moins drôle. Je ne sais pas si je vais continuer après le Tome 5.

Although the anime stick faithfully to the manga, there was a whole topic that didn't come in the anime. However, a similar one in content was produced for the anime. maybe because it has more mature aspects, yet it did deliver the idea and that's what matters.

Mais um volume muito divertido. Não tão absurdo (se é que pode ser dito isso) do que os anteriores, mas igualmente engraçado e divertido. E por não ser tão absurdo perdeu seu status de "amazing", mas continua sendo uma grande leitura, um dos melhores mangás que eu já tive contato.

No i powoli Yoshikawa wychodzi z dołka, chociaż nie spodziewam się, by te wredne babska dały mu święty spokój. Spokoju nie ma natomiast Murai, bo biedaczek musi od mamy odpędzać Onizukę. Idzie mu, jak idzie, więc pewnie chłopak zmieni nazwisko ;-)

Onizuka withstands a series of attacks from class 4. There is a lot of text to this manga which makes it slower reading. Occasionally, the story seems to jump around making it hard to follow.

Sauvé par Kikuchi et Yoshikawa, il s'attaque désormais à Murai et sa bande qui le déteste. Ces derniers mis en difficultés par des voyous, Onizuka va les mettre au défi. Plusieurs scènes que j'ai trouvé très drôles notamment celle de la compétition de sport où le dessinateur fait un tour de magie à ses lecteurs et aussi au professeur de sport !! L'échec de Toroko, manipulé par Miyabi, le fait se retrouver seule et humiliée. Début d'un nouvel arc ?

Encore une fois, la mise en avant de la perversion qui gangrène le pays du soleil levant qui fantasmes sur ses collégiennes en uniforme. Les scène surréalistes pleine de puissance font mouche ! Entre amusant et complètement fou, un tome plus consistant. Onizuka nous surprend toujours par sa fine observation et sa capacité à lire dans le coeur de ses élèves.

Eikichi Onizuka (22), old virgin and ex-biker. crude, foul-mouthed, and very temperament.
He has a dream to be the Greatest High School Teacher in the World!!! but the thing behind that great dream is to score with the hot students ^_^"
Onizuka may think he’s the toughest guy on school, but when he meets his class full of bullies, blackmailers, and scheming sadists .... huwaaa. Honestly, I'm not really like this book. But there is available in Dorama, and the dorama is more interesting to watch.

Read this series first back in adolescence, and as I go through the same books this present day I find how resonant some themes that the author touches upon remain. Surely at face value the series might come across as silly or over the top; but it is in fact deeply rooted in everyday themes, troubles, vulnerabilities, passions among other threads. A real depiction of human connection as a manga can get.

Re-reading them thanks to the new Pika edition is a great, great pleasure! You'd think the stories or the drawing would have grown old badly, but it's not the case. Onizuka is still one of the best manga characters ever and the situations are still SO funny.

The story picks up the pace and one by one Onizuka is winning over his would be tormentors. One of his female students, Miyabi, is now her most fierce attacker and will stop at nothing to see him destroyed. A very fun read.
