Alice was wrong – Wonderland wasn’t so wonderful after all.
Kat never expected to be back in her hometown, but when house sitting turns into a mad rabbit chase, Kat finds herself with a whole new set of problems.
A two-headed bird with a Game of Thrones obsession, a party full of tea addicts, and a Cheshire Cat who could seduce the pants off her grandma? And if the citizens weren’t bad enough their prince was off his rocker.
This wasn’t your run of the mill Wonderland. This was the Fae world, where rules are rules, and some things are exactly as they seem.
Erin Bedford is an otaku, recovering coffee addict, and Legend of Zelda fanatic. Her brain is so full of stories that need to be told that she must get them out or explode into a million screaming chibis. Obsessed with fairy tales and bad boys, she hasn’t found a story she can’t twist to match her deviant mind full of innuendos, snarky humor, and dream guys.
On the outside, she’s a work from home mom and bookbinger. One the inside, she’s a thirteen-year-old boy screaming to get out and tell you the pervy joke they found online. As an ex-computer programmer, she dreams of one day combining her love for writing and college credits to make the ultimate video game!
Until then, when she’s not writing, Erin is devouring as many books as possible on her quest to have the biggest book gut of all time. She’s written over thirty books, ranging from paranormal romance, urban fantasy, and even scifi romance.
Also, third person is really weird when writing about yourself. Just putting that out there.
“The Underground Series: The Lost Fae Princess” by Erin Bedford compiles into a single volume the first five books in the eponymous series. • Chasing Hearts • Chasing Rabbits • Chasing Cats • Chasing Princes • Chasing Shadows
This series is Bedford unique and contemporary own retelling of eighteen century Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland” story. Bedford’s heroine is Kat (and she for sure not Alice, which is in fact a plus), who follows the apparent white rabbit down into the hole to find a Fae prince, the Queen and Chess, the cat, because there would never be a wonderland without the cat, would it 😉. Kat keeps on chasing throughout the books, rabbits, cats, princes (the one Fae in fact), and shadows until her journey comes to an end in an epic twist. There are two further installments in the series, but the first chapter of Alice journey ends here.
The compilation also includes the prequel to the series “Chasing Hearts”, which tells the story of the Fae courts, independently from Kat’s journey.
4.5/5 stars because there was just a few things that didn't happen sit right with me. First I would say it was excellent writing---it kept me interested through 85% of the story. However once you get towards the middle/end of Chases Princes it starts to feel stretched out. The change in povs started randomly and it became confusing. The other thing that upset me was her initial connection with the Prince, and her past, I assumed he would be the male lead. It sort've implied by presenting him first that he WAS the first male lead and Chess was second. A part of me felt incomplete with the Princes sad story and how Kat somehow managed to disregard her past life and feelings over a trifle misunderstanding. And treated the prince like garbage...that being said I still didn't necessarily hate her connection with the Chess, it just almost felt forced....? In a way. Still, the story was thoroughly impressive and immersive to say the least. I binged the series in two days.
Ok but???? Are ignoring the fact Lynne and Dorian are cousins🤨🤨🤨

I bought the first book in this series and also listened to it as an audio. When I saw this whole collection available I had to have it. I am disappointed that there is not a whispersync version of it if I want that I have to buy each book separately, maybe when I win the lottery I can afford that. It is a great fantasy loosely related to Alice in Wonderland but so much more. The world building, interesting characters and of course the romance make it a series which will keep you caught till the last book. Hard to put down when everyday chores have to be attended to.
I rated the individual stories as 4s as they were quite good but not really worthy of 5 stars. The main charscter is well done but the side ones could have been better. But when all of the stories csme together the finale product is a 5. One note don't read them out of order specially the short prequel.
Not much story for the length of the books. More seems to happen in the gaps between the volumes than in the actual books. In addition the books could have done with a good editor to sort out the grammar issues. Will not be continuing with this series.
A fascinating retelling of the age old Alice in Wonderland. Larger than life characters with vibrant descriptions make for a wonderful tale. You will not want to put this series down.
Cannot say that I enjoyed this series. The FH was not someone most people would like or want to know. The editing was atrocious! Too many glaring mistakes that reall damaged the story. Disappointed because the premise was intriguing.
Well Written series. Great characterization for the storyline. The storyline kept you guessing what wound happen next. The suspense keeps you reading to see where the story is going. I would recommend this series to my friends and family.
Not bad... But I didn't like the idea that a broken Dorian is left hanging Especially when I was reading the series just to see whether he was going to have an HEA. Total letdown.
Full of typos and misused words (accessing instead of assessing, amongst others), and lacking punctuation in places it’s needed, with excess punctuation where it shouldn’t be. I forced my way through, and the errors just get worse as it goes. On top of that, the main character is an obnoxious idiot.
