Russo offers a very basic approach to healthy eating. She does not forbid anything. Most of the recipes are simple, straight-forward, and relatively quick. In addition, she offers a full month's worth of daily menus. The nutritional advice interspersed throughout the book is sound and reasonable.

This is now a bit outdated in the low fat cooking methods and ingredients but I did find about a dozen recipes I will be trying.
