Charlotte “Charlie” Moss is a Private Eye and a dang good one. It helps that she has two things going for her, the first is that she is a psychic which certainly helps in investigative work. The second is her partner Brutus “Wolf” Nycanthus who just happens to be a werewolf who can track down almost anyone and anything.
Their partnership is still new and most days the biggest mystery Charlie has to deal with is figuring out why he sticks around. That is until they get a case that is about more than just a husband having an affair or following missing money.
When a book is stolen from the local archives, Charlie is hired to investigate because the perpetrator is something the normal police don’t even believe exists. She is about to get embroiled in a mystery that will put not just her life but her very soul on the line. So it’s a good thing she has backup.
This case is going to push Charlie to her limits, give Wolf a reason to truly worry, and reveal that sometimes not everything should stay buried.

FIRST Half of the book - Weak 3 STARS
SECOND Half - 2 STARS
I read the GR reviews before picking up NO BONES ABOUT IT from KindleUnlimited and I guess I need to brush up on my reading skills. What wasn't obvious to me was that this was a romance more than anything else. A soft, squishy, cozy romance where everyone is super nice, except for the bad guy who is super evil.
QUICK SUMMARY OF THOUGHTS

- The timeline is the present. People have iphones and EVs.
- There is magic.
- Fuzzy love that's slooooow and not graphic.
- The first 26% was very promising. There ceased be more than tropes at the end.
- The writing is a bit awkward in places.
- What bothered me more was the repetition of phrases like the multiple shy-smiles per page.
I thought the concept of this pair was interesting and I enjoyed the first half. The conclusion seemed abrupt and and built upon cliches.
I'll probably pick up the second book if it is also on KU to see what direction the series takes. I'm not a cheerleader for this particular book but some people are definitely going to enjoy it. Don't want to scare you'all off.

The story did start slow but after a few pages it completely pulled into the mystery moss is trying to solve the mystery. Before I knew it, I was reading well past my bedtime.
I adore the main characters. The female lead isn't exactly your rough and tumble type, but she can hold her own. The male counterpart? He has been so far the best werewolf alpha male character i have read about so far. The contrast between his character and the bulk of most shifters you see in other novels was absolutely great; a huge breath of fresh air from those over the top aggressive types. He is a wolf that actually has a scary good level of control and I am rooting for him from the top of my lungs.
The mystery unfolds bit by bit and once you finally realize what/who the villian is? It is a suspenseful jab at another level, where folklore meets with paranormal goodness.

Slow starter but compelling.
I found it a slow start and the narration a little confusing but the book remained just interesting enough to not put down until it shifted gears and got moving.
I've never read a werewolf quite like Wolf and I enjoyed the fact that Moss was very much not a tough as nails kickass woman in comparison. It was a refreshing shift of tropes.

This book was a whirlwind. At first, I wasn't entirely drawn in. But slowly it caught on like those sticker seeds as you walk through tall grass. Before I knew it, I was reading well past bedtime and wanting to solve the mystery.
I love the main characters. The female lead isn't exactly your rough and tumble type, but she can hold her own. The male counterpart? Well.... Lets just say that he might be my new favorite Alpha. I was consumed by the first half of this book. You have these two compelling main characters, an intriguing main plot, and other sub-plots which I think added to the overall story.
I really liked Brutus and Charlie's interactions and how well they complemented each other. I don't think I've read many books with this kind of dynamic (a situationship but a wholesome one at that). It made sense and worked so well for them, I might need to read more books witth this trope. If you know, let me know 👀 I'm a fan.
Charlie's stronger than me because I would have unapologetically folded so hard for Brutus, my name would have to be changed to 'beach chair'. He's a gentleman, protects her, cooks for her, has money, drives her everywhere. GIRL! I'm taking him if you don't 🤣
Now, the other half had a different vibe for me. I felt like the mystery lost its steam at times and the big reveal didn't face me because at that point I was more invested in Brutus and Charlie's relationship than the main plot. You could say the romance bits became the star of the show for me 🤷🏻♀️ it happens and the story itself was about introducing these two character so expect more of a character-focused plot than a harrowing mystery in that aspect.
The ending read a lil too abrupt for me. I understand it's meant to read bittersweet because the nature of their job isn't easy, but I feel like I needed more for it to read like a proper conclusion.
If you're looking for a cozy paranormal mystery with a well-developed romance (full of tension and small details that will make you squeal), this one's the one to read.

I need more books like this in my life!
I’m trying to think of how to describe it in a way that will do it justice, and I honestly don’t know if I can.
Let’s just use the KISS (Keep It Super Simple) method: it’s a paranormal thriller/detective story with a slow burn romance between the main characters. Their history is strangers to acquaintances, which slides into friendship, which through the course of this book balances on the edge of - and topples over into- lovers.
I love the characters of Charlie and Brutus (Wolf). Their routine is that of an elderly couple who had been together for decades, but the writing still brings sparks of the new and unexpected to their time together, especially with chapters narrating their different perspectives.
I thought Charlie’s special abilities were very interesting, especially when she was dealing with investigating the villain of the story . I got such chills— the vibes are deliciously creepy, which I think is pretty amazing since the story also gives sweetness, hilarity, some smexual tension, and some terror.
I will say that I would have loved for Charlie and Wolf to have had explicit spice on the page ( I feel like Wolf would be a deliciously dirty talker), but the lack of it doesn’t make me like the story any less.
If you like the paranormal, with empaths or psychics, magic, shifters, possession, detective vibes, flawed main characters, strangers to friends to lovers, subtle, slow burn romance, found family, and an entertaining story then definitely read this! I just want to spend more time in this book’s world.

I read a revised ARC of this book and would like to say that due to the ending it should have a few tigger warnings. It’s not super graphic but it does go into a little detail of mutilation/torture but it’s not on page, just the after effects. The writing style was not something I was used to but after a few chapters I adjusted well enough. (3rd person)
The whole premise of the book/series is a good one. Charlie is a PI who takes whatever cases she wants and Wolf is just along for the ride. I would like to know where wolf gets his money though. It was something I questioned a lot. I assume it’s going to be a series where each book is a new case.
I really enjoyed this book. The plot was good and the first few chapters reminded me of Ghost Whisperer but with more supernatural elements. The romance plot was also good. It was a slow burn. I liked how it went back to how Charlie and Wolf met. I really want to know more about Wolf. He’s my favorite solely for throwing Richard in the garbage 😂

This was an awesome read. I haven't read urban fantasy in a while and this was sincerely a 100% pure awesomeness.
There is a plot and romance subplot between both main characters. We all love a good Grumpy × Sunshine story but this one hit different.

Charlie and Wolf are paranormal private investigators. They receive a case about an evil entity stealing a very rare old book. As the investigation proceeds, Charlie and Wolf’s friendship slowly moves towards romance as they both admit to having feelings for one another. They solve the case, and agree to be in a relationship together.
I thought this was a great premise for a book series. Charlie is so lovable with her kind and quirky personality. And though he may be quiet and intimidating, Wolf was awesome as well. I could appreciate his loyalty to Charlie, and just found his character more interesting as though story went on. We learned some of his back story, and there’s still a lot of mystery surrounding him, but I look forward to finding it all out as the series progresses. While I very much enjoy this book, there were some slow parts and moments of confusion regarding the POV. My favorite scenes were when Charlie and Wolf simply hung out together and were just able to be themselves. There were no expectations, they merely enjoyed each other’s company. I hope their relationship doesn’t face too many hardships in the future. I love them together and hope any conflict involves them against the world. I definitely am interested in reading on in the series, if only to learn more about Wolf’s past because I think it’s going to play an important role moving forward.

I've been a big fan of Williams and White from the Callistar series, so I was all too eager to jump at the chance to read No Bones About It. This was less sci-fi and more paranormal and I was all in. I loved the chemistry between Moss and Wolf (very much Grumpy/Kinda Sunshine). Even as "friends" you could feel the tension and while I felt like it was a slow burn (because I'm the most impatient person on the planet with romance), I was kicking my feet and grinning like a fool to finally see them collide.
But that plot twist tho!!! I'm not spoiling, but as the case unfolds further we get to see just how dark this villain truly is. 4.5/5 stars for me.

This was my first book by these authors and I will definitely be picking up my books written by them. Although the story started off a little slow, once it took off there was no stopping.
I loved the take on the werewolf character and was pleasantly surprised by a werewolf male lead that wasn't 100% aggressive Alpha male. Charlie and Brutus were both well written characters and I really enjoyed a more relatable paranormal relationship (as normal as a werewolf can be😆). I would definitely recommend this story and think it is a great blend of mystery and paranormal with just a little romance thrown in.

Another fantastic story from the talented B. Williams and J.J White! This time we follow the journey of a Inspector Moss and her friend Wolf as they investigate a supernatural theft and mystery. As the case unravels, so do hidden feelings as well.
I adored Charlie and Wolf and their dynamic. Two vastly interesting characters that manage to compliment each other so well.
An intricately woven mystery, with comedy and delight. I look forward to exploring the rest of the series.

Recently, I got an opportunity to read the book, and I am more than glad that I did. The story starts at a slower pace and accelerates throughout the chapters. There is an engrossing blend of flashbacks, nightmares, psyche experiences, and thriller from beginning to end. I also appreciate the way the authors depict the intimacy between the two protagonists, Wolf and Charlie. It wasn't vulgar or unnecessarily steamy and was demonstrated with the right amount of understanding and compassion.
I love the way the story introduces the villain; the precisenes s of the description makes readers solidly visualize the scene in their imagination. A perfect combination of drama, action, mystery, and information. I would love to read more cases from this awesome duo.

Interesting read
The story grabs you from the beginning. A woman with powers and a werewolf pair up to solve the mystery of the disappearing figure that has stolen a rare book. Which appears like a simple crime throws the readers into a paranormal mystery that keeps them turning the pages. And of course there are some entertaining romantic moments!

Action and heart
A wonderful P.I. Style urban fantasy with two engaging and real feeling main characters. The connection between Charlie and Brutus is slowly built on a trust between the two and it’s refreshing to see a werewolf who can be in control without being controlling. The last third of the book was a roller coaster ride. Looking forward to book 2.

Good premise
Enjoyed this book. Loved the MCs, especially Charlie. Really enjoyed the slow building of their past stories as well as their romance. Some of the writing didn't flow as well as it could have but the story was good and the characters developing and I really enjoyed it.

Great characters in Charlie and Wolf. A couple of points, I would have liked more world building. Also, it starts slow and then races to an end. Not sure where you can take this next but a good paranormal, mystery story.

This was a fun read. I didn’t have the highest expectations and was pleasantly surprised. The pacing was a little off—super slow to super fast. This made the start of the romantic relationship between Charlie and Brutus feel a little unrealistic, but I still enjoyed the story and the characters.

4.5 ⭐️ This is such a cute paranormal mystery romance. I definitely enjoyed reading it! Charlie is a private detective and she helps in the paranormal side of things along with the human side and Wolf is a really great MMC who is a werewolf alpha. The twist on who is the lich was fun!

Da questo insolito incidente prende il via una storia ricca di mistero e paranormale.
Franklin viene indirizzato a Charlotte "Charlie" Moss e Brutus Nycanthus, meglio conosciuto come Wolf. Charlie è una detective dotata di poteri paranormali, mentre Wolf è il suo eccentrico collega, un lupo mannaro. Il romanzo, primo di una serie, non solo segue il caso iniziale dei due, ma introduce anche i protagonisti e il mondo in cui si muovono.
La narrazione si sviluppa lentamente, mettendo in luce il rapporto tra Charlie e Wolf, lasciando intuire una lunga conoscenza tra i due. Anche la parte romantica prosegue con gradualità. I'm really looking forward to the next volumes, and I hope the author will be able to balance the romantic and investigative aspects and give more prominence to tension- and suspense-filled events, such as the theft.

Al contrario, il furto iniziale e il mistero ad esso collegato risultano particolarmente intriganti, ma purtroppo ricevono meno spazio di quanto meritino.
Spero che nei prossimi volumi l'autrice riesca a equilibrare meglio l'aspetto romantico e quello investigativo, dando maggiore rilevanza agli eventi ricchi di tensione e suspense, come il furto.

The book introduces Franklin, an archivist who finds himself caught up in an extraordinary event. While translating an ancient 16th-century alchemical text from German, he is attacked by a skeleton who snatches both the book and the computer containing the translation from him. This strange event sets off a journey full of mystery and the paranormal.
Franklin is sent to Charlotte "Charlie" Moss and Brutus Nycanthus, better known as Wolf. Charlie's a detective with some pretty special paranormal powers, and Wolf is her wacky co-worker, a werewolf. This is the first book in the series, and it not only follows their initial case but also introduces the protagonists and the world in which they move.
The story unfolds at a relaxed pace, letting us get to know Charlie and Wolf as they slowly fall in love. Their romance slowly grows. The initial theft and the related mystery are particularly intriguing, but unfortunately they receive less space than they deserve.
I'm really looking forward to the next volumes, and I hope the author will be able to balance the romantic and investigative aspects and give more prominence to tension- and suspense-filled events, such as the theft.

I just finished an ARC from Booksprout of No Bones About It and my only complaint is I have to wait for book 2. I feel like this is a “quick read”, depending on your definition but I couldn’t put it down.
If you don’t want to read my whole review, here it is summed up. If you like the occult, werewolves, a crazy and disturbing case for a detective agency. A slow burn between your main characters. Oh, and a witch and her Jewish grandmother. Get the book.
Ok, so how do I sum this up without spoilers?
The FMC, Charlie, runs a detective agency (she doesn’t work with the partner she started with, yes, there is a story there) and she has “abilities”.
Then there is the MMC, Wolf, who hangs out in her office, sometimes spends the night on her very uncomfortable couch and oh yeah, he happens to be a werewolf.
There are other characters in the story, but one of my favorites, hands down, is the Jewish grandmother. Can we please have a few more scenes with her in book 2?
Charlie’s agency does the “cheating spouse” cases, but she also deals with the occult and has built up relationships and contacts she feels comfortable with and can count on.
This case however is different. One of her contacts warns her to stay away from it. Unfortunately for Charlie, and Wolf, she’s already in it, whether she likes it or not.
There is a lot going on in this book. I love the slow burn between the two main characters and the way they can switch to professionals is impressive.
I was also impressed that what started out as, what seemed to be a “normal-ish” case for Charlie on the occult side, turned into something that no one wanted to talk about, let alone deal with.
I can’t wait to see what happens in her next case. I can almost guarantee it won’t be boring.

I received this book for free. I had hoped I would enjoy it, but sadly it did not hit as I had hoped. The book was well written, but I just personally had a hard time connecting. It happens that not all books are meant for all readers. That said, the book was well written.
I did enjoy the paranormal story line aspect. It was a great story idea and the characters were unique the lead female wasn't the usually kick butt tough chic. The lead male character was somewhat quiet. Overall, the book had all the pieces of being a great story, however, for some reason, I could not get into it and therefore did not finish it.
I am sad because I rarely even put a book down without finishing it, but this one I did. I may return to it at a later date, and if I do I will come back to update this review. Till then I am giving it a 3 star only because it was my own personal issue about not getting into and not the author's writing or storyline.

I liked the book blurb ..... I loved this book!

Well written, compelling, and sometimes quirky personalities that are engaging and sometimes made me laugh. I enjoyed this book so much that I will recommend this book to anyone who enjoys paranormal fantasy with a little bit of romance thrown in as well as a mystery. Magic, witches, werewolves, some exciting action, and an unexpected twist or two in the plot made it impossible to put this book down.

This one took a little while to get going. No Bones About It has a solid mystery at its core, and that’s really where the book shines. The plot is intriguing and keeps you curious, but the writing itself felt a little off at times—like there were some oddly placed moments or transitions that pulled me out of the story. It’s hard to describe exactly, but it definitely gave the book a bit of a disjointed feel in parts.
As for the romance, it’s there... but you kind of have to go looking for it. It’s definitely a slowburn, and the closed door approach means you won’t find steamy scenes here—so if that’s your vibe, you’ll appreciate the more subtle buildup. Personally, I just wish it had been a little more present or emotionally developed to match the mystery’s strength.
That said, if you’re into paranormal stories with a slower pace, a good mystery, and a hint of romance tucked in the background, this might be worth checking out.

An intriguing premise that desperately needs an editor.

The premise is a great one and I was excited to have the opportunity at an advance copy. Unfortunately I can not recommend this book in its current state. The point of view is consistently inconsistent, tense is frequently confusing, thesaurus words are shoe horned in awkwardly and there are odd choices on where attention to detail is focused.
I would love to see this go through some honest, experienced beta readers. After that it needs an editor who can polish it up. The writers are obviously committed and passionate, their story concept and the fact that they wrote an entire book show that. But the messiness of the execution makes it nearly impossible to enjoy.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. We meet psychic Charlie who runs a PI business with the werewolf she rescued as her protector of sorts. She gets the usual jobs where the wife suspects the husband of cheating. But one day she had a very nervous man come in to tell her about a skeleton man who took a book from the archives that he works at. Charlie along with Wolf go to the archives to see if they can spot anything out of the ordinary. What she finds isn't good. With her powers, Charlie can see what someone saw and when the skeleton sees her things go from bad to worse. Thank goodness for Wolf. This skeleton man is not normal and feels full of evil. They go see some friends who may have heard a thing or two. What they find out is shocking. Now Charlie must decide how to proceed and stop it before it's too late.

This is a closed door level one spice romance read in third person. There's paranormal and mystery with a werewolf MMC and a seer MFC. I did find some of the narration confusing at times but I think it's because I'm not much of a fan of third person but I till enjoyed this.
I really loved Brutus and Charlie! Brutus is the sweetest most protective werewolf alpha guy ever and he is now my favourite! Dream book boyfriend, yes! He sticks around Charlie after she helps him this one time and just never left. Charlie is a private investigator that does more than investigate cheaters she also deals in the paranormal and strange. They end up on a real kicker of a case that's bad news but between then they finally give in to each other too. I won't give too much away though you have to read it to find out what happens! It's good!
This isn't the type of book I would normally go for but I'm glad I did I really loved it especially the characters!

Where to begin? Easily my new favorite genre… fantasy murder/crime/paranormal mystery. It has all the elements of my favorite things plus implied spice which was sweet and cute for the MMC and MFC, as it fit their characters.
It very much felt like some Agatha Christie type sleuthing driven by well rounded characters and impeccable writing. The writing was descriptive and engaging, making it easy to picture the story as it unfolded in my mind's eye.
I cannot wait to read book two. I need more of this duo! Very Castle and Beckett vibes and all the heart eyes.
Overall: 10/10
Plot: 10/10
Spice: 0/10….. BUT… The steam was beautifully done and the spice was implied and not explicit at all
Character Dev: 10/10
Entertainment Factor: 10/10
