This is book eight of the A Witch in Time series and the main character is witch Nuala Walsh, who is about to give birth to twins, but has yet to tell her husband the secret about what she really is, because of the whole no telling humans about magic. She thought she would have more time, but the babies put in an arrival during her baby shower with her fellow witchy friends and Seth arrives home just in time to see one of the witches using magic, which shocks him more than Nuala going into labour. She has her twins, which they name Emma and Oliver, and she knows only females in her line have the possibility of magic, so she will have to figure out how to let Oliver know about that and not feel left out. While she has been on maternity leave, she hasn’t been taking any jobs from the Agency of Paranormal Peculiarities (APP), wanting to wait until the twins are a bit older. She and Seth also run their own gym, so she has a lot on her plate already, with the twins now only six months old.

Her magic lends itself to strong empath powers and she uses these to help solve cases the APP give her and she is one of the handful of five time travelling witches who work on cold cases with a paranormal twist, travelling back in time to solve crimes. The case that has appeared at her home, is that of a missing Faberge egg, which blessed the women of the Devereux family with good fortune, from the time of the grandmother Babs and her husband arrived on a boat from overseas, looking for a better life. Babs has the ‘sight’ and gets some fuzzy visions of events and has used this to make her family successful, as well as the egg which she believes has a magic spell placed on it to give them all good fortune down the female family line. The only clues Nuala has are a small article in an old newspaper about the change in fortunes of the family and who was now left of the line. She needs to travel back to 1994 and become the companion to someone in the Devereux home, expecting it to one of the two daughters, but ends up becoming the companion to the grandmother of the family, Babs.

The egg disappeared a few days before, when Babs insisted it was taken out of the safe for a family portrait being done and it went missing, but the family don’t want the police called. The daughter Riley is a bit of a workaholic and not much of a mother to her two daughters, teenager Penny and nine year old Barbara, both of which who are supposedly sperm donor babies! Babs’ son Noah has also been called back to the family home and all the staff let go, except for Hattie, who does just about everything and has been with the family for decades. The family is a very dysfunctional one, with Barbara having a room of creepy dolls she plays with and talks to, a moody teen with a few secrets of her own and their mother Riley who has far more secrets than anyone else it seems. Riley has hired an investigator, who turns out to be more of a family hanger on, Christopher, who doesn’t know how to run an investigation if it bit him in the face. Noah has never worked, seemingly taking the money the women of the family give him and living a life of a playboy with his toys!

The matriarch of the family has a huge say on how her daughter and granddaughters live, but doesn’t have much of a relationship with her son. There are far too many secrets and lies between them all, with motives for action that would split the family further apart rather than solve the mystery of the egg or even get them to realise how damaging their behaviour towards each other is to the youngest of the family. With the magical egg missing, the family is already being affected and their luck is changing! Nuala hasn’t got a murder or some serious crime to solve and she thought she could manage to leave behind her little babies and husband, to solve a simple stolen item, but this case is far more complex than she realised and the Cosmos won’t let her return to her family until she achieves what she has been sent to do. She is the only hope for the Devereux family and she knows that if it isn’t sorted satisfactorily, then time will run out for the family and their fate will be what the future reported. She wants to get back to her babies, her family, especially after seeing how one dysfunctional family are wasting the time they have together! Each of the stories in the series can be read as a standalone and covers a different witch with a time travelling cold case to solve. A little touch of magic and lots of common sense. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

Family Secrets

A new 'Witch in Time' book is a cause for celebration. This one focuses on Nuala's first assignment since the birth of twins Oliver & Emma. Back to the 1990's with the dysfunctional Deveraux family. Matriarch Babs also has grown twins Riley & Noah. Also there a missing magical Fabrege egg that guarantees wealth & success but only for the women of the family. With the egg stolen Babs, who claims she has the
ssecond sight, fears her family will lose their luck. As she grows more frail it seems
only by finding the egg will the luck return. Less magic than sleuthing is needed t save this family, especially 9 year old precocious Barbara & surly teen Penny, Riley' s daughters. Along the way, Nuala learns a thing or two about what not to do with her own twins. I really hope the group of authors who write the different A Witch in Time series, each with their own unique witch , can squeeze out a new book this year. We could all use getting lost in a different time than the present to solve a quest for good.
Thank you to K. M. Waller, Jenna St. James, Stephanie Damore, Mona Marple & Ava Mallory for building a hopeful & magical world to visit.

There is no doubt that brand new mother of twins, Nuala, can handle being a mother as well as still being a time-traveling cold-case solving witch. Nuala's 1st assignment back involves helping a dysfunctional family that includes grownup twins, so she will get some insight on how to deal with her own twins. I LOVE this series and this is the best book yet as Nuala's finance Seth, a human, finally finds out that the mother of his children is a witch, and she time travels to solve cold cases. Wonderful to see Seth's reaction to all of this. I was so hooked that I read straight through the night. I kept thinking I'd stop but kept turning the light back on and reading just one more chapter. Lots of twists in this great mystery of the missing magical egg and what effect it has on the family and how Nuala interacts with each person involved. Definitely one of my favorite series by one of my favorite authors. Can't wait for Nuala's next case.

I was so excited to read another story with Nuala the time traveling, cold case solving new mother of twins.

Its really interesting that Nuala has to help a family with grown twins, I found this dichotomy really interesting and fun to read. The case surrounds a missing egg with magical powers that has an effect on the family she is trying to help.

On the personal front, Seth, Nuala's fiancé has a big surprise in for him. I don't like to give spoilers, so I will just leave it at that. I loved this part of the story.

This is such a well written mystery with multiple story lines perfectly weaved in together.

The characters are well written, complex and multi-dimensional.

Highly recommend other books in the Witch in Time Series!

I am ready for more Nuala! Read this in one sitting because it was SO good!

I love time travel and witch cozy mysteries and this book has both. When a box from the agency Nuala works for shows up, she must decide if she is willing to leave her young twins and travel back to the1990s. Its just a lost object case. No one is murdered. So, she feels like her life won't be in danger if she goes. What will be just a few seconds for her hubby and babies could be seven days for her. Can she stand to be away from them that long? But, if she doesn't go, the chances of the case being solved goes down tremendously. With a chance she can prevent a child from becoming an orphan, Nuala's heart goes out to her. Back she goes. But, things are never as easy as they first seem. Ms. Waller never fails to deliver an absolutely wonderful adventure and this book is no exception. Read it. You won't be sorry. I look forward to the next one.

Nuala Walsh, time-traveling witch and new mom of twins, must put family matters on hold when she is given the assignment to travel back to 1994 to save the dysfunctional Deveraux family. When their priceless magical Fabergé egg goes missing, without the enchanted artifact, the family’s lucky days may soon dry up and have repercussions on the family. The family she is helping includes grownup twins, so this is an opportunity to observe the family dynamics and gain some insight on the way to interact with her own twins.

We know this won’t be an easy retrieval when dealing with secrets, lies, and ulterior motives, and there may be important lessons learned along the way. But the focus on family is strong throughout the story line. Will Nuala recover the heirloom egg? Will she find the thief? Are you ready to be surprised?

I loved the premise of this book in which Nuala is a time traveling witch who helps solve cold cases. The first page has you hooked as you find out Nuala is pregnant and expecting twins…and her husband doesn’t know she is a witch. From that moment on, you are taken on a wonderful ride to the 1990s, a missing magical Faberge egg, and an amazingly dysfunctional family. There were quirky characters, family members you will despise, and those you will adore.

As you get to know Nuala and experience her emotions while she helps the Deveraux family, you appreciate her gift and her commitment to her family and her assignments. I want to spend more time with Nuala and Seth and their twins. I am in love with this family!

Thank you to the author for my advanced review copy. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

I think this is my first I introduction to Nuala in this series. I like her.

Her mission is to help a family find the heirloom that brings them fortune.

The question is does it? What is family? Even Nuala asks these questions since she has twins and a supportive husband waiting for her.

What is family? That is the question that has stayed with me. This story looks at it from one point of view but is that all there is? Can things be fixed?

What is really surprising, is who is responsible. Took me to just before the reveal yo get it. When will you figure it out?

Easy to read, standalone and can be read in a day.

This is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC book.

Two different family crises stories seem at the heart of this book. The first is about trying to gently share with Seth the truth about her magic, and the likelihood that their about to be born daughter might share that gift

As Nuala takes on her first post baby case, she discovers the power of truths, lies, and the helping and hurting families can inflict on each other

Nuala and Seth might be an unconventional couple in more ways than one, but love lies at the heart of them if they can learn to embrace and hang onto it and each - and accept the truths and secrets they must hold onto as well

Can they all hold onto love and family?

Intense magical drama

Nuala, a time traveling witch, has been sent back to the 1990s. A missing egg family heirloom was the key to the females being lucky. Once there, she finds the family at odds and hiding a lot of secrets from each other. Nuala assists by figuring out many of the secrets and tries to get the family back on speaking terms. Trust is going to take a while with this group. Loved how seeing a set of twins put through all the problems caused Nuala to readjust her own rules for her new twins back home. The mystery was complex and very involved. The ending was worked out with the best of changes from the heirloom being found. Can not wait for the next mystery.

Loved the story!
Nuala's twins arrive and Seth is made aware of the witchy business just not the way the plans were laid out.
Six months later and after not having an assignment since finding out she was pregnant, Nuala is given an assignment that takes her back to help a family find a lost heirloom and keep the family from dying off. There are some surprises in store and lessons to learn, not only for the family but for Nuala herself. What could be the surprises and what are the lessons? Need to read to find out.

This book was so good! It addressed a problem that all new moms face, when is the right time to go back to work? Only this new mom is a time traveling, investigative, crime solving witch. The crime she is solving involves a family that is so beyond dysfunctional, it’s scary! I had no idea what direction this mystery would take me. My guesses were all over the place. It was really fun reading how it all played out.

Family Drama and Stolen Heirlooms
This is the eighth episode in this series. The episodes share characters but each book is a complete story, written by different authors. This excellent cozy witch mystery deals with a family in the early 1990s that is going through some unbelievable drama. Nuala has her hands full trying to do many things at once. I have loved each of these stories. I received this ARC for free from Booksprout and this is my honest review.

Never Enough Time was a little funny, intriguing and very well written. Although it is part of a series, it can be read without having any prior knowledge of the series. That's great for someone who have just found this series.

All of the characters were well thoughtout and seemed to be real. Any reader of this book, series, and/or author will not be disappointed.

Great book!

I have been so looking forward to more Nuala! And it didn’t disappoint. Now mother of twins, she does worry, of course. But on to 1994 she goes! I love that era! I have always loved this concept of a time traveling witch, and this really was an awesome book! Recommend! I loved it from start to finish 😊

Two thumbs up. Author kept you guessing who took the egg along with the reader wanting to not put the book down because of the expense of the book. Good read

I have always enjoyed Waller's work and this one is no exception. Nuala, the time travelling witch, goes back to the 90s to fix a dysfunctional family. There is so much of truth in this story and so much heart, pain and real life that it is hard to stop reading, but like all Waller's books, it does have a ray of hope that shines through. Nuala completes her assignment, and leaves the family with some home truths and sound advice as to how families should be, but she takes the lessons that she has learnt herself back with her, to help build a strong bond within her own young family. Love it, love it, love it!!
