BUT NOT FORTUITOUS
When Mechant Loup detective Clint Wolf stops a vehicle for reckless driving, he doesn’t find a drunk driver or an irresponsible teenager inside. Instead, he discovers a distraught father in a desperate search for his missing sons. Upon learning the boys were overdue from a fishing trip in the swamps, Clint summons the assistance of trusted friend and skilled mantracker, Melvin Saltzman.
During their search, Clint and Melvin locate one of the boys huddling near a pirogue in a private lake, but the other brother is nowhere to be found. Melvin begins tracking the teenager through the woods and soon locates a bloody shovel under a windthrown tree. Further on, he locates what appears to be a freshly dug grave--and things begin to go south from there.
What they find when they unearth the grave sets Clint on a 1,800-mile journey to solve a murder case that wasn’t meant to be solved. Whether or not he succeeds--or survives--will depend on a number of things, not the least of which might be a fortuitous event.
BUT NOT FOR FEAR
Something evil is lurking beneath the waters of Mechant Loup, and it’s up to Clint Wolf to figure out what it is.
In broad daylight on a calm, sunny day in August, a young college student suddenly disappears in Le Diable Lake and never resurfaces. Despite a desperate search by her boyfriend, she is not found.
While en route to the scene of the disappearance, Clint Wolf and Officer Melvin Saltzman make a grim discovery that is seemingly unrelated to the initial report. However, as the community comes together to search for the missing girl, it becomes increasingly evident that something evil is operating beneath the dark waters--and no one is safe from its clutches.
BUT NOT FORESEEN
The only thing Detective Clint Wolf wants to do is spend a quiet Sunday with his wife and daughter. Unfortunately for him, fate has other plans.
When a weekend getaway for a father and daughter turn deadly, Clint is forced to cancel his own family plans and launch an investigation into the brutal murder. Although more than sixty rifle rounds were fired in the senseless killing, there were no witnesses and no video surveillance, because the act occurred in the primitive camping area of the Waxtuygi Wildlife Nature Park. With little evidence and no suspects, Clint finds himself flying in fog with zero visibility.
As the investigation unfolds and the body count begins to rise, the question of motive continues to elude Clint. However, one thing becomes crystal the closer he gets to an answer, the more his life expectancy decreases.

A whole series of enthralling and highly engrossing stories in the beginning of another Clint Wolf series. Throughout, as an avid reader, of murder mysteries, I was totally enhanced and involved in this continuing series of stories. I am looking forward to being able to read more in the Clint Wolf series of stories. There is no doubt that all readers of good murder/mystery stories will thoroughly enjoy and be drawn in by these stories. Highly recommended reading.
To each there own 5 star but for the three book set also a five star. Each of the three books had different setting and their own unique suspense but all were equally entertaining.
Except for the deranged brother, the criminals demonstrated an insurmountable amount of patience in book 16.
Book 17 had a very inventive plot.
Book 18 brought out truly evil criminals within our world.
I hope you enjoy reading these suspenseful mysteries. Clint Wolf is an amazing police officer.
This was a hard hitting book with death on both sides. This story rings true and it has happened in real life. The bad guys were known before the surprise ending, but the hunt was on. This was one of my favorite books by B J Bourg. But on to book #19 and my search continues for another exciting Clint Wolf case.
I can’t believe I’ve finished the entire series! I feel like I know Clint, Susan, and all the rest. It’s been the most immersive read of my life. I hope you’re planning on continuing the story. I want to watch Grace grow up! (It would also make a great tv series!😉)
The scene involving the outhouse was critically the most amazing scenario I have ever read! If you have never read one of BJ Bourg, Clint Wolf's Mystery novels, you're missing the most exciting and action packed books with a backdrop in the swamps of Louisiana.
I have thoroughly enjoyed all of Clint Wolf books! They have a little bit of everything in them! Romance, Mystery, Humor! Everything I enjoy in a book! There’s also a little sadness! I can’t wait to read the next one!
Great boxed set in the Clint Wolf series. Interesting characters, great storyline, and well written, I enjoyed reading all three books in this set. I'm looking forward to the next one.
I could not put this novel down! How exciting and involved one becomes in the lives of this law enforcement family! This story will hold your attention to the very end.
Written very well!! Once you start reading the book you can’t put it down. Leave’s you engaged, I get engrossed in the characters and sometimes get nervous when they start to get into a dangerous situation! You won’t regret reading this series
What an exciting read. I read all three books in record time. The Clint character is well developed and very believable, as are the others. There isn't a moment that drags or a paragraph that seems unnecessary. Loved it.
The stories are fresh, different and keep you guessing. The follow up on the last books continues to keep the reader engaged in the lives of the characters. A great series of stories. You won’t be disappointed
Great read! I enjoy being drawn into the lives of the characters as they solve crimes. I also like how the community steps in to help each other in times of need. I am already looking forward to reading the next Clint Wolf series.
Awesome story lines, loveable characters and never predictable endings. All stand alone books but I love the evolution of the people I have grown to love!
The books kept me not wanting to stop until finishing the series. Each book drew you in and with twists and turns until the end. Great reading of each book.
All three of the books are very well written. The characters and places are well described. Even though the series starts with number 16, ,you don't feel lost
