A NOVELETTE Hang in there? Kendra’s words kept replaying in Juliette’s head as she left Cuppy Cakes and walked homeward. Here she was, in her twenties, feeling like an old, abandoned spinster. Was there a man out there for her? A guy she could give her heart to without it eventually being trampled on?
Emotions welled. Loneliness was eating her alive. How pathetic. Other women craved independence, careers, and the power to be perfectly complete inside and out without a man in their lives. She wasn’t one of them.
Juliette turned the corner on South Park Avenue. Where was she supposed to meet this one and only—
Irene Onorato was born and raised in Bronx, New York. In 1972, a few months after graduating high school, Irene met James Onorato, a soldier who had just returned from Vietnam. After dating two weeks, they married, raised three children, and are still happily married today.
Irene and James live in Louisiana with their two cats and a dog who was rescued by the Cajun Navy during the great flood of 2016.

One and Only is now a favorite of mine from Irene Onorato! The author's humor is at its best in this novella (goodness, I really laughed out loud at the twist-tie scene!), and I can only wish that Ben and Juliette's story had lasted longer.
Ben was soo sweet, and he and Juliette are truly perfect together. Kendra was also such a good side character to complement the other two, and her "serial killer" jokes were hilarious!
It was also pretty cool how the author brought Juliette's old boyfriend back into the story for a while (I could really feel the tension then), and the conflict that comes up near the end also gave me shivers because of how well the author had formed the parallels between that situation and one from the main character's past.
However, I am glad to say that the story ends happily, and I enjoyed every single minute of One and Only.
Also. The audiobook reader is FANTASTIC! She is very professional, she does the dialogue superbly (I love the voice she gave Ben; it's so swoon-worthy!), and I would love to see more audiobooks by this author read by this particular narrator.

Parents- PG- middle school and up Language- PG - a few lesser words - no f-bombs Violence- none Sexual Content- PG - clean just some kissing
Better than watching a movie and about the same amount of time to listen to this book. It's the story of a woman who is still hurting from being dear Johned by her almost fiance. Then bumping into a sweet guy on crutches changes everything. It's a fun and quick romance with all the ups and downs we have all come to expect. I recommend it to the clean romance readers.
Narrator- The narration was great, but I did prefer listening at 1.35x speed.

I’d never heard of this author before starting this book; it looked like it could be cute so I gave her a try!
Things I enjoyed: -Girl squad / good friends. -Some interactions felt ‘real’. -Short and sweet. -Friends to lovers. -All plot /no tacky overused “jumping” or “twitching” “members, and other popular romance author cliches.
Things I could’ve lived without: -Prayer time felt a bit ‘in my face’. -Very overused, predictable means of HEA (won’t spoil it still).
Overall, not a bad experience. Would be open to more from this author. 3 stars. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Note: I listened to the audiobook; this narrator was great and the book was produced professionally!
4.5 stars This is a really short, low angst and Hallmark-esque romance. It is developed well but might have been fun to add more detail for a longer story. Ben and Juliette are likeable characters and I was happy to see them get their HEA. A little foreshadowing at the beginning makes the ending more satisfying. It showed Ben was his true self from the beginning of their relationship. The narrator did a good job in differentiating the characters by voices.
Christian themes: light Sex: no Language: no Violence *I received a complimentary audiobook through StoryOrigin and voluntarily chose to review it.
I was so disappointed when I saw that this was a short story as I avoid them whenever possible. The reason being is I always feel like there should be more and I am left feeling bereft. I can honestly say that this is the first short story that left me satisfied! I so loved both Juliette & Ben. They appeared well-rounded and engaging. I felt the story was realistic and I liked the side characters as well. I received an ARC courtesy of StoryOrigin and this is my voluntary review.
Audiobook: This was my first experience with Irene Onorato's work, and it was enjoyable. Juliette was still recovering from the ending of her previous relationship. Her life began to change after she physically ran into Ben. Their story was romantic and sweet. Since this story was a novelette, it was a pleasant way to spend about an hour and a half. Angela Ohlfest's narration was fine. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.
A delightful short (60 pages) read. The characters were relatable, the plot believable and I loved the poetic justice of how the author dealt with Kendra meeting up with her previous boyfriend (who dumped her for the bosses daughter...). Good clean read. I received a copy from the publisher but this review is my own.
Super sweet clean short story, about a woman who after get Damp is not afraid to move on and a man who is smart and charismatic and the chance encounter that got them together. I really enjoy this book
One and Only was a cute, super short story with a meet cute and insta love. I like the characters. It was a good clean contemporary romance. I wish that it had developed the storyline more. I enjoyed listening to it.
This was a great story. The characters are great the story line great. This author is new to me and I will be looking for more stories by her. If you like sweet story this one you should read.
I liked this cute, sweet story about a woman who "bumps into" a new romance while recovering from being dumped by her last flame. Clean and wholesome, this is a feel-good story for the HEA crowd.
