Ivan Pechkin has been on the fringes of the Steel Patriots MC for years. Long before they came home, he worked to help the elite warriors in the war-torn parts of the world, using his contacts with the SAS and CIA. Now as an FBI agent, he is struggling to find his place. When he's pulled into the chaos involving Baytown Oil, Ivan finds himself shot and wandering through the frozen forest, praying for a miracle. Stumbling upon a cabin, he's thrilled to find that someone is actually living inside. In pain and out of it, he wakes to find a tiny woman has become his savior. When she helps him, she's putting her own life in danger, suffering at the hands of a sick, twisted cult. Now, Ivan must find the woman that's captured his attention and bring her back where she belongs...his arms.
Sophia Lord has never known anything except the polygamist cult her father runs, until she dares to escape. Six months of being on the run all comes crashing down when a man knocks on her door, bleeding and in pain. Vowing to help him, Sophia exposes herself, sending her straight back to the one place she vowed to never return. Now, Ivan is rescuing her. But Sophia is broken in ways that no one can fix. She must find her way out of the darkness, learning to trust again, learning that she has a voice and has options. What she really wants is Ivan, but can he glue the shattered pieces of her life back together?
Thank you for reading my bio and my books! I live and work in Dallas, TX. I'm the mother of two amazing daughters and two fantastic, intelligent grandsons, with one more on the way, and a wonderful son-in-law. I love to cook, travel, and write, but I'm also an avid reader. Being from a military family, my books often center around strong, military men but I also LOVE strong, independent, intelligent women. Lets start with the upside the writing was good the editing ok, and the story was well connected to the rest of the series. Our author fell once again into the old let's see how violent, how disturbingly much child sexual abuse and disgusting scenarios we can fit into two hundred pages, and then call it erotic romance. I personally think not.
With the little we saw of this pairing in the last book, I knew things would be good in this one. I will say that Sophia's story broke my heart and the more she shared with the group, the more ragey I got and wanted to join the group when they went in to take them down.
I did love how everyone welcomed Sophia in, made her feel part of the group, never talked down to her about what she did and didn't know about life. Instead they all took the time to educate her about the things she talked about and why what she knew was wrong. It was also great to see how everyone encouraged Sophia that she could do what ever she wanted, she just needed to think of it. Then there was Ivan, who took it so slow with Sophia as their relationship progressed, that when they finally crossed the sex line, it was all good, nothing bad or flashbacks could happen. Made for a very sweet ending for them both.

I want to start by saying I love all of the Steel Patriots books but for some reason, this one really touched me. Ivan had been mentioned sporadically through the first 13 books, but this one was all about him and the lovely Sofia. Their relatioon began to develop, despite their differences - he so world wise and she so naive - but it worked. Everything about the SPMC books, especially how all the men and their wives so readily accepted Sofia (as they’ve done in previous books), but I especially how Sofia (and all the ladies) sees George as a father figure. Sofia’s learning process was quite entertaining😊.
I know the last MC book available right now is #19, I hope Mary will continue the series.
I have been waiting for Iran's story, and I couldn't put it down. I loved Ivan and Sophia. They both saved each other from horrible circumstances. Sophia was such a strong and brave woman. To grow up in a cult where women couldn't learn to read or write. Their only purpose is to marry a man and have babies. She learned to read, write, drive, and escaped. I loved her relationship with all of the women, and her discovering the 21st century. I laughed so hard when she sent the group text by mistake. Every book I read by this author is my favorite. I thought Noah was my favorite, but for now Ivan is my favorite.
This has got to be one of the most beautiful stories I’ve read. Ivan and Sophia. I cried for the pain that Sophia goes through mentally and physically. No person should go through that. And Ivan, who tried a bit to not feel the love for her. The love is strong & she’s very innocent in so many ways. He takes care of her, then he and Ghost and the gang are out to get the bad guys. I wish all guys would treat women with real love and caring. It’d make for a much better world.
I chose this rating because this was actually a pretty good book. I really enjoyed most all of the characters. This was a book of Love, being naive , learning to do things for yourself, compassion, and getting your life back. Oh and manipulation. I enjoyed Ivan and Sophia story. Sophia have been through a lot in her years. Even though she was a young lady she had been through a heck of a lot. I was so glad when she met Ivan and the rest of his people. Great read! I recommended a book to all romance readers.
Another great story. I have always despised these polygamous cults because the do called men think they are God, when they are nothing but cowardly disgusting pigs. So glad that Sophia not only escaped once but twice, but sadly the second time she suffered a lot of body damage especially losing her virginity by these evil bastards. Very glad that Ivan was there for her and she for him and really enjoyed these fools not what they deserved. Happy reading.
Sophie's story was so heartbreaking and innocence was so precious. With each book we are learning more about how the women feel about George. Ivan much older than Sophie but like all the other men fell hard. Their story so innocent in away. Bring on the next one. LOVE THIS SERIES
This story was absolutely Fantastic!!!!. It was so moving, touching, entertaining, exciting and above all else Fantastic!!!. It's so sad😭 and overwhelming to think that this kind of disgusting thing is going on in our world today😥😥. Mary is a Fantastic storyteller and PHENOMENAL writer!!.
I loved Ivan and Sophie. All the feels and hurts and all the action. I need a Russian of my own or a huge Viking... I can't wait for Geoff and Bruce and King and Striker and..... Dear gods this woman needs to keep writing.
Have u ever read a book that just made u love and hate it. I loved this book but hated that it ended. Lol loved all the characters and just how involved they all are. I loved Ivan in all the others so I was happy he found his love.
The newest addition to the Steel Patriots was released early ...... thank you. A worthy addition to this great series and a great read. Now looking forward to Griff.
This series is completely worth the read. Some of this story maybe to much for alot of readers but I couldn't put it down. It was a emotional read. Do you have news letters for future books.
This book did not disappoint. It was good from the beginning. Once I started it I couldn't put it down! So glad Ivan got his happily ever after. I can't wait for the next book. Love this series!!
Sophia and Ivan were from two completely different worlds. Ivan found her when he was near death and she kept him alive. Then it became Ivans turn to save Sophia. This is an intense story, read if you can.
I literally read this in one day! It was that good! Ivan wonders if their age difference matters. Should it? Will he let it get in the way to a future with her? I hope you enjoy as much as I did!
The story was very dark and frightening, but full of action and drama. It was painful to read in parts, I couldn’t stop turning the pages. Poor, poor Sophia, she deserves nothing but sunshine and rainbows for the rest of her life.
Can't wait for another chance to reread this any chance I get. Was so happy to read about Ivan and Sophia the love he felt for her was felt in each page you read.
Excellent book I really enjoyed this book. All the books in the Steel Patriots series have been good, but for some reason this one seemed extra special.
My favourite one yet, so much going on. My heart broke so many times but was whole by the end of the book. This series is absolutely fantastic, one books flows into the next really well
