I feel as though the author really found her voice with this book. Amber and Rick were nicely fleshed out characters, both had their imperfections but totally in a GOOD way. It made them relatable, dimensional and oh so very human. The writing is simply beautiful, the prose flows in a lyrical manner and building pictures in my mind.
There are strong elements of second chance throughout the story, though it’s only been six months since Amber and Rick broke up first time around. Both characters are carrying a lot of emotional baggage, but whilst Rick is ready to commit to Amber, danger from her past has her skittish and wary of anything long term.
I loved the passion both characters displayed, not only in a sexual way for one another but also for the things that were important to them. Amber’s photography would be one example. I
did enjoy the steamy kind of passion too, of which there is just enough to make this a hot read without overwhelming and distracting from the storyline.
The plot was very cohesive, all scenes and events fed into the story and moved the story along. The writing, the pace, the characterisation are all good, resulting in a very enjoyable read. Well written secondary characters add extra depth and I'm very much looking forward to future books with their stories.

Yours To Keep is the second book in the Stepping Stones Series by Laura Riley. Although characters from the first book are also in this one, it can be read as a standalone story.
The blurb for the story is sufficient enough to tell you what it is about. All I can add is that Rick and Amber's story captivated me from the first pages. I felt for Rick because he was so in love with Amber but she made it very difficult for him to get past her barriers. Amber, well she definitely goes through a lot in this book, from her business burning down, to unwelcome news that will very much affect her budding relationship with Rick.
The story moves quickly and I couldn't help but feel emotional throughout it. Sometimes I laughed, especially at the antics of a couple of well-named cats, other times I could have cried at things that Amber and Rick went through. The secondary characters' stories weaved well into the story and never allowed for a dull moment in the book.
There is a part of the story that I believe could have been elaborated on, which is the only reason I haven't given this a 5-star review. Other than that the book was a good one that I am happy to recommend. I don't read a lot of contemporary books, so believe me, 4 stars from me is great!

Unforgettable
"Yours to Keep" Stepping Stones Series book 2 by Laura Riley

What a fantastic story of 2 souls becoming 1.
Rick is a content man, but he knows he will never be good enough for what it is really missing in his life, and that is the unconditional love of a woman.
Amber's life was not what she thought it would be. Living in fear is not something she wants for her daughter, but how can she live her life knowing he is still out there?
Rick never knew he would find the one, but deep down, he knows she isn't ready. Will she ever be? Learning the truth of her past destroys what they have. Will they find their way back to each other, or has their fate been sealed?
This story was so intense. Secrets are revealed, and truths are told. Finding the one you are meant to be with is never easy, but when your heart finally lets go, it is beyond magical.
A duel POV with amazing characters who finally find what they are searching for. Cannot wait to read Coles story. Will that be next?
I love Laura's style of writing. Her books have all the feels from devastation and heartbreak to forgiveness and unforgiving love. Beautifully written!!!

A beautiful must-read
I simply loved this book even though it took me on an emotional rollercoaster. The passion, humour and touch of darkness made for a thrilling read with some twists to keep you guessing. You can feel that Laura has settled into this series and I can't wait for Cole's book. Although this is the second in the series, it can be read as a standalone. I already know this is a series I'll reread.

I loved reading Rick and Amber's story. They are two lovers who go through ups and downs, but add in a violent ex-husband and their relationship becomes challenging. I would recommend this book. It is a great read, very well written, and each book seems to get better. I can't wait to read Cole's story which is the next book in this series.

Nailed it
Another class book. If you thought Lizzie and Seth was great... Rick and Amber are on fire. The chemistry and banter is great. Two troubled people, who travel quiet a road to reach their HEA. You won't be disspointed.

Emotional.
I did love Rick’s story with Amber and little Freya but I was frustrated with how Amber kept running and not letting people help. That did irritate me. I never did like Thomas and glad he got his and I was correct in who Maggie was too.

This is the second book in the stepping stones series. Amber had a short summer romance with Rick but when she found out her violent ex husband was still alive she broke off the relationship. However when her flat was burned down she was to move in with Rick. Sparks fly but they have more hurdles to overcome. Great read

Oh, I love this series and all its characters. When you put everything on the line for what you truly want.
"You're my today, my tomorrow, my destination"
Its simple Rick wants Amber, but Amber is trying so hard not only to protect herself, but Rick too. Only problem is, he doesn’t know! If he finds out the real reason she broke things off with him, she knows he will get hurt.
Amber's past is no longer that, the threat is back....
Amber doesn’t believe she’s entitled to be loved, that was taken away from her a long time ago.
Rick has issues with abandonment, his past made sure of that, he thought he had found the one woman that would never do that to him, how wrong can you be.
They are both fighting to protect themselves, but in the process are tearing themselves apart.
Really enjoyed this one.

I had been looking forward to reading this after enjoying book one in the series. The characters and plot are well developed. I always enjoy a book where you can really get behind a character and root for someone, and always enjoy a character that makes you suspicious! Good plot twists and surprised I didn't see coming. Amber and Rock's story was really enjoyable and now can't wait to read Cole's story. Although this is a series, you could read this as a standalone, but I guarantee you will want to read more!!

Incredible Book Loved It
The characters just come alive in this second book. You actually get to know the real Rick and the lovely Amber. There is sass, fun, laughter, hot loving and a sense of danger that had me in the edge of my seat!
Freja the daughter is incredible I love her character
Overall Laura you did it again and to me blew it out of the Park!!
