I promised myself I would never trust an alien. But with Zhori, I may not have a choice.

After being kidnapped by aliens, nearly rescued, and then snatched back by my captors, I don’t have much hope of getting rescued again. Still, I’m determined to fight back on my own, to break free and find some way off this horrible planet.

But when I’m put up for auction, my heart nearly stops when I see him in the crowd -- the bronze-skinned alien who tried to free me before.

What is he doing here? Why did he come back?

My instinct is to assume the worst. Maybe he returned because he wants to steal me for himself. Maybe he plans to use me just like every other alien has.

But he keeps helping me. He keeps protecting me. And every time he does, it gets harder and harder to deny the truth.

This alien warrior may be the hero I need -- and a temptation I can’t deny.

"Tempted" is a full-length standalone sci-fi romance featuring hot alien gladiators with huge… horns, a heroine fighting for her freedom, and a daring hero who will risk everything for her.

So - if you like ... hot aliens, sweeping adventure, and steamy romance, you’ll love this series. Suggested for readers 18+, please. No cheating, no cliff-hangers, and happily-ever-afters are guaranteed!

Note: Each book in this series can be read as a standalone -- but for maximum enjoyment, it’s recommended that the books be read in order. Enjoy!

I love reading romance, baking (well... eating) cookies, and binge-watching sci fi shows with my husband. I'm a sucker for a dirty talking alpha with a heart of gold, and I write stories about fierce aliens and the strong Earth women they fall in love with.

Brooke and Zhori - Brooke was one of the human women who were abducted by the Orkun but then when the Orkun moon base was destroyed, the were about to be put up for auction when the Kalixian warriors broke into the warehouse, freeing the women in the previous book Damaged. However, right when they are about to board the Kalixian ship, Brooke was recaptured by the guards and is now going to be auctioned off to the highest bidder.

Zhori was a Kalixian warrior and second in command to Druxik, he tried to save Brooke when she was taken, but was unable to grab her and she was taken away while he was on the ship that left the port. He couldn’t just leave so he took off from the ship, going back to the black market slave auction alone to see if he could save the human woman.

Brooke is purchased by a slug-like alien with jagged and darkened teeth. She fears for the rest of her life. When she sees the golden bronze 7 foot tall alien in the crowd, she had hoped he was there to bid for her, though when he didn’t and she was sold, her hopes died. Zhori wanted to gut the alien right then and there, but he knew that following them and rescuing her later would be easier than doing it at the auction.

This book has action, fighting, romance, steam and much more. Brooke is much stronger than Zhori expected. Rescuing her didn’t work out quite as he expected.

Brooke had stayed behind from the rescue because of her mistrust of aliens but Zhori gains her trust, respect and love. As always, there is a lot of talk of consent and our "alpha" isn't the romantic initiator. There is no angst in the relationship and that's why these books are just vanilla and boring. There is very little character development and it all much of the same; pretty much, you read one, you read them all. Also, Brooke likes the Sound of Music a LOT and he hear about it a LOT. I can't say I ever finished the movie because I would always leave it after 5 or 10 minutes.

**4/5 stars**

During the rescue mission to save the women slated for auction on Nierra, Brooke hesitated for just a fraction of a second, which led to her capture by the guards while everyone else managed to escape. Unable to bear the thought of Brooke being left behind, Zhori, a dedicated Kalixian warrior, takes a ship's pod and goes back to rescue her. The mission isn't complete until every woman is safe and sound, far from Nierra.

I really liked Brooke; she and Emma are definitely my favorite heroines in this series. Brooke was sweet and smart, but she also had this quiet strength that really stood out. Even though her first attempt to save herself didn’t go as planned, I love that she didn’t just sit around waiting to be rescued. She knew she had to rely on herself and act fast. Her passion for singing, coupled with her struggle to sing after her grandmother's death, was such a touching detail that added a lot to her character.

And then there’s Zhori, who quickly became my favorite hero in the series. He had just the right mix of cocky and flirty, with a bit of a boyish charm. Even though the situation was intense, he stayed upbeat and did his best to reassure Brooke every step of the way. His protectiveness and determination to save her were really endearing.

“The mate bond is fated by the gods,” I explain. “It is permanent and inviolable. If you are believed to be my mate, then others will think that I have claimed you, and only the most reckless or powerful slavers would touch you. It’s widely considered too dangerous and not worth it to steal a mated woman among the species that believe such things, as a mated male will stop at nothing to get his Irisa back.”-Zhori

They had to pretend to be mated to avoid drawing attention while they were in the city while they tried to find a way off of Nierra. After the escape of the human women, the guards were extra careful, and the alien who had bought Brooke was out looking for her. This pretense of being mated messed with their feelings, making them question whether their growing attraction was real or just part of the act. Zhori especially struggled with his feelings for Brooke. I liked that they seemed to fall for each other before the bond was officially solidified—it made their connection feel more genuine and less about just physical attraction.

There are absolutely no words to describe the rush of feelings and emotions that I have felt while reading this story. Another amazing and strategically written masterpiece! I fell in love with Brooke and Zhori right from the start. Zhori is the sweetest, most gentle warrior thus far, especially since he’s attracted to Brooke but doesn’t want to act on it because he’s just trying to get her back safely to Kalix. And Brooke’s character is full of skepticism and worry, which is understandable given her history, right from the start!

The more I read, the more intense and better it got! I particularly like how Presley allowed the two of their desires to strengthen and grow before they act on them. Zhori is so respectful of her, before even realizing their connection not them being mates. And, the story is flows so nicely and doesn’t seem rushed. Brooke and Zhori’s budding relationship is filled with intense emotions and desire, strategically written, leaving absolutely no holes for questions.

I loved how Presley gave these two characters obstacles to get passed by working together as a team, and I especially liked how Presley scared the hell out of me when yet another tragic obstacle comes out full force, making Brooke and Zhori put complete trust in the other to get out of this over the top dilemma that can either break them and all their hard work put in this far, or make their bond stronger and more appreciative of the other. One thing I have always appreciated about Presley’s books is her ability to start the excitement off right from the start, allowing the two MC’s to build a relationship, not just jumping right into the sex scenes. She allow their desire for the other to grow until they’re not able to deny themselves or the other any longer.
And, I’m so excited for Sophie and the Feral Khalaxian’s story. It’s going to be interesting to see how their relationship grows with the language deficit and both of them having experienced so many traumatic events.

"Tempted" is the eighth book in Presley Hall's Kalixian Mates series and while enjoyed most as a continuation of the series, it can be read as a standalone that is complete in and of itself. In spite of what might be happening as it begins, information and some history to what has happened previously is explained so new readers aren't confused. The author does this very well as the information doesn't seem redundant to loyal readers or overwhelming to new readers, and feels like part of the story and not just a blurb of information thrown in so new readers know what's going on.

In this series, a hostile alien race called Orkun would invade and attack planets, using and depleting it's resources. The heroine- Brooke- is an ordinary woman leading an ordinary life when she is abducted by the Orkun- along with other women from earth- and is now bound for a slave auction. In the previous book, a group of alien warriors called Kalixians came to rescue the kidnapped women. All escaped except for the heroine, who was snatched back at the last moment. This book begins with her thinking of those women and how she was very nearly rescued.

In spite of it being the worse set of circumstances, the beginning of the book is part of my favorite. You can feel the tension the heroine experiences, not only from the fear and horror of the upcoming auction, but from the details the author surrounds Brooke in. Her trying to measure the amount of time passed from her failed rescue by the meager amount of light that permeates the warehouse she's held in, the number of new prisoners brought in to replace the women who were taken, the increase in guards and the hostility. Even the descriptions of different alien captives also bound for auction all gives a sense of the scale and- shudder to think- normalcy of the enslaving that gives an underlying feeling of the helpless of the situation. All accolades of a good writer to show readers rather than tell them what to feel or what's happening.

Brooke herself is a brave heroine, keeping her head rather than panicking in a situation that would terrify anyone. I also deeply appreciate her resolve to fight and help herself in her situation- always trying to think of and look for a solution rather than give up and despair. Even though she is technically a damsel in distress, she definitely doesn't feel like a woman helpless to think or act for herself just waiting for a big strong man to rescue her.

Zhori is the hero of this book- one of the Kalixian males who was trying to rescue the women in the previous book. Feeling duty and honor bound to return for the woman left behind, he's determined to rescue Brooke, and thus they work together to survive and find a way to escape the hostile planet.

Like the other Kalixians, Zhori is honorable, caring, respectful, and considerate. His personality making him just as attractive as he is physically. As a reader, I was completely drawn to him early on. And I LOVED that the heroine didn't immediately trust him just because he was attractive, saved her, and seemed to care. I've never been fond of insta-lust/insta-love characters that immediately have complete trust and desire for an absolute stranger. It just seems completely illogical to me. A normal person suddenly abducted by aliens they never knew existed, sold as a slave and then rescued by a sexy alien- and immediately has complete faith in them and wants to be with them and ride off in to the sunset.. yeah no. With very few options, Brooke takes a chance with her rescuer, but doesn't completely trust him- and makes a point of telling us so. While they work together, she does keep her mind alert for red flags or deception so she isn't blindsided if a betrayal should happen later. She feels like a very realistic and relatable character.

The chemistry and trust that builds between the hero and heroine are well written and doesn't feel too slow or too rushed. There is a good amount of action and character building, and the pacing of the book is well handled.

I definitely recommend reading this book- very enjoyable and realistic in terms of the character's actions. A well written and thoughtful book, and no grammatical errors (at least none that I noticed). I eagerly look forward to the next installment in this series!

Right from the start, I'm addicted to these characters! Every part of this series is a finely woven tapestry of action, adventure, and hot romantic love...well...eventually with the love part. The parts of the series feed into the next ones while still keeping the magic juice from the ones before. There were times in this part of the story that I felt that our couple was sure to die an ugly, painful death, which would have killed the series right here as well as suggested that romance was dead. I'm glad that never happened. Instead, we get a great abduction story with a hero that won't quit, A spunky heroine who is ready to die to save herself, and when they get together, they're like the A-Team of how to escape the evil, angry inchworm. I read this in one sitting, it was so addictive and impossible to put down! There are some wicked fight scenes, a few in which Brooke participates, which was awesome. She isn't waiting for someone to rescue her, she's trying to save herself or die trying. What's not to love about a character like that? Then when they eventually get to the romantic parts, the sexy scenes are hot, but they don't happen until well into the story and the relationship has had time to grow and set in. It's just a fantastically well-rounded story that fits in well with the rest of the series. You should read it, even if you read the series out of order, you'll still get the gist of the overall series story arc while enjoying a book that can be read as a standalone too.

Just when you think things can’t get worse…

Poor Brooke. She’s abducted by gross Orkun aliens, sold to be auctioned, kept in a freezing cage, rescued, and then recaptured. Wow! And that was just the beginning. This was exciting throughout the whole book. When Brooke is recaptured, Zhori stays to rescue her and fulfill the mission. This is honestly pretty action packed, it almost felt movie like to me. This is one that I “felt the writing”. I mean I truly felt them falling in love. I don’t know why or how, but I really felt their love story more than the rest. Maybe because of everything they were going through and how much they had to trust and depend on each other, maybe because it wasn’t an insta-love. You really see them falling in love at a slower pace. Not sure, but I loved it. It really got to me emotionally.

On top of that, how much Zhori is trying to save her, a complete stranger, at much peril to himself. I feel like I could picture it, and I definitely felt it. I’m not a writer so I’m not really sure how to express this right, but I could feel and almost see his frustration and his unyielding passion to save her.

After Brooke having such a hard time and what sounds like some major trust issues, her recognizing how much she trusts him, when she does, and thinks to herself that he’s her only friend, really touched me.

Again, not a writer, so I apologize if this review makes absolutely no sense, all in all, my favorite in the series and very well written.

I haven't read a Presley Hall book that I didn't like and this one even though not a 5 star for me was still a great read and I recommend it. This was all about the trust and slow burn. It was less about none stop action and more about the characters (Zhori and Brooke's) connection. I liked the change of pace and really liked that it took Brooke a bit to warm up and fully trust Zhori, I mean dang that girl was put through the ringer. This story felt more like a friends to lovers story than anything else. I enjoyed that Brooke though not a "warrior" by training was scrappy and did her best to rescue herself and not act the damsel in distress. I don't really remember much about Zhori from previous stories so I also appreciated leaning more about him and his perspective as the story developed. The only reason this wasn't a full 5 star for me was I personally like a bit more suspense in my stories and this one had that but it was pretty late in the book. I also love angst and this story didn't have me on the edge of my seat with that either. Finally, I also thought why Brooke was so distrust could have been weaved throughout their relationship’s development more. It felt more like an afterthought at the very end. So not my favorite but, still a recommended read that is more sweet than saucy.

Zhori is the guy that runs off to pick up the woman left behind in the previous book - Brooke.

He does find her but getting them off the planet is going to be difficult. They spend a bit of time on Nierra and develop feelings for each other.

Zhori is just wonderful. Sweet, devoted, loyal, understanding...and hot, of course.
Of course.

Brooke and Zhori are a very young couple, both falling in love for the first time, they have really good energy, good chemistry and I would so wish for it to continue a bit more on Kalix. I wanted to read about their life, their house, everything.

They're just great together.

I was just thinking about Kalixians this weekend while reading this book. I read this series in random order and I'm just amazed, over and over again at how these great, honorable, loyal and passionate men are built. Built on the inside and the outside. Of all the series I've read (and I've read plenty, I am slow with writing reviews though), the ones that have 5* all the way are the Kalixians. There's such positive energy behind these stories, these men, their planet and this new life they're building that I'm just happy at the end of the day. Happy when I think about the characters here, the stories...the love.
I have one more book to go and I'm done.

Good work, Presley Hall.

Excellent.

This author continues to amaze me. I adore this series. I have to admit I couldn't help but imagine the bad guy from Star Wars, the one who had Princess Leia chained in that little nothing of a costume, when reading this. Made his death even more satisfying. Our sweet brave girl, Brooke, has been left behind in the latest rescue and all seems lost. But one incredible gorgeous warrior went back for her. Granted the intense harsh planet is hardly the place for romance to bloom but it does and it's so hot and scary and kept me reading until the very last page. I love the honor and true depth of feelings that this story told. Our hero is so freaking good that he never gives up and never questions his decision to go back for her. Brooke rightly didn't know who to trust and who could blame a girl for that? I thought that it would be hard to keep the adventure interesting but each situation is unusual and the stories never disappoint. Thank you Ms. Hall. Please give this series a read. She's by far one of the very best SFR writers out there now and just keeps getting better.

I’m going to go ahead and say it: Presley Hall is a master of the action sequence. Writing a good fight scene is hard to do, but Hall manages to do it well consistently. And we certainly are not starved for exciting action sequences in this alien romance romp.

Zhori returns to Nierra to rescue Brooke, the human woman left behind in the previous book’s rescue attempt. By the time he makes his move, She’s already been sold as a slave to a slimy, gelatinous alien called Savyiek. Stealing Brooke away earns them the wrath of the wealthy slaver and they must subsequently stay hidden on Nierra whilst looking for a way off the planet.

Brooke agrees to pose as Zhori’s mate for her own protection, but it’s not long before the ruse catches up with them and the front develops into something more. It goes without saying that sexy times ensue. Many, many pages of very, very sexy times. Trust me. Sexy. Times.

Another great addition to what is already a fantastic series. I can’t wait for the next one!

I read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

4&1\2fabulous 🌟s for Brooke and Zhori

Brooke was the human woman who did not make it on board the rescue ship in the last book. She was recaptured and put back in a cage to be sold at auction. She's lost a lot in her young life and was betrayed by someone she trusted. She has a hard time trusting anyone, but she does wish she had not hesitated for that split second that cost her, her freedom . Zhori is the Kalixian warrior that left the rescue ship to go back and save Brooke. He just couldn't leave her to be sold and hurt . It made him physically sick to think about what could happen to her. When he finds her she is being sold as a slave and that is when the action begins. Zhori has to earn Brooke's trust, keep her safe and find a way of the planet from hell all while fighting his growing attraction. A terrific adventure filled with the action packed romance you expect to find from Presley Hall. Characters have chemistry, and true attraction. Highly recommend a great addition to the series. ?💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

Brooke was kidnapped from Earth by aliens, was almost rescued by another group of aliens and then at the last minute snatched back by her original captors. However, she is still determined to fight back and escape again and find a way off that planet. But when she is put up for auction by her captors she sees one of the aliens who had tried to free her in the crowd. Her instinct is not to trust him, but when she is free and with Zhori, everything he does is to look after and protect her and she starts to change into trusting him and thinking of a future with him.

I enjoyed this story and the magnetism between Brooke and Zhori (even if they did not yet realise why it was there to start with). It was great to see that Zhori was very careful to behave in an honourable way between Brooke and to not push her into any decisions or behaviours unless she was certain that she wanted it to be that way. I loved the way that the story ended with yet another Kalixian warrior with a human mate. Easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.

Right off the gate, Brooke has been recaptured after the failed rescue attempt by Zhori and his Kalixian warrior brothers in Damaged. Zhori went back to help Brooke escape her captivity like they originally planned before she is sold off as a sex slave. But, Zhori is on a solo mission and is without the guidance of his warrior brothers to make the mission successful. Could things go wrong? why yes of course... But I loved the back and forth banter between Zhori and Brooke. How Brooke realized she needs his help to survive and get off that planet. Zhori, explains to Brooke what had happened and why they originally came. How Cora was there to help answer any questions, but things went array and they explained as much as they could fast enough and allowed the women to make their decision.

Zhori did the same thing for Brooke, it was hard for her to completely trust Zhori. But, realized that Zhori as been honorably, told her the facts first and is taking care of hert he best he knows how. But, money is runnyg out and they need a way back. Will they be able to find a way off that planet? Will they finally succomb to their mutual attraction to one another? Will I be able to write a proper review without sounding to vague? Or just spoil everything? haha..Anyways, U cant say enough good things about this series and ther other. I am glad I found this author and I can't wait to hear more adventures of the new couples?

A rescue goes wrong for one human woman, Brooke, when she is recaptured just short of the ship.

One Kalixian warrior feels strongly that he failed in his mission, and he takes an escape pod and returns to the trading planet to rescue the last human woman. But she has no translator implant as nd fears Short almost as much as any other alien. She is sold to a huge sluglike creature a few days later, but even in chains she fights her way loose and runs, finding her way outside of the city enclosure in the dark. But she runs into a trap that shatters her leg, and Zhori finds her unconscious in the snow, bleeding out. He takes her to a healer, paying for the translator too, and he waits by her side for the healing tech to complete it's job. Will she understand Zhori, will she go with him voluntarily? Will they be able to hide from the slavers, and her buyers guards, and escape the planet? Will she stay with Zhori or want to go back to Earth?

👽 “I never knew what it was like to fight for one person in particular, to love someone so deeply that I’d do anything to keep them safe above all else. But I do now… You mean everything to me.”
~~~
Brooke is nice and brave. Due to her past and the recent kidnapping by aliens, she’s very suspicious of the warrior that’s trying to save her.
Zhori is strong, loyal, confident, a bit cocky and honorable. He never gives up. I loved his savageness when he needed to protect what was his.
I really liked the dynamics of their relationship - how they had to learn to trust and rely on each other, and gradually build a relationship filled with intense emotions, scorching desire and trust.
Overall, the story has everything a reader could want - suspense, drama, action, betrayal, twists, turns and romance.
It’s a great addition to the series and I really loved it!
Was that really book 9? It feels like I just met Rose and Tordax on a ship that they were both captive on. And now many love stories later there’s Zhori and Brooke. Brooke was one of ladies that was supposed to be rescued but something terrible happens and she’s left behind. Zhori defies his command and refuses to leave her behind regardless of the consequences. So begins their adventure of a romance on a lawless planet that’s as cold as the people who inhabit it. Brooke was a perfect heroine she was timid but also a strong warrior when she needed to be. Thanks to Zhori and his understanding ways he alleviated all of Brookes fears and she was able to shine. The Kalixian Warriors are some of my favorite aliens and I can’t wait to read more of their stories ❗️🥰🥰🥰
I have no Idea how Presley can possibly make me love the next book even more but she does. I really love series but they can get repetitive and loose my interest but I've yet to find that with her. This book had a perfect mix of action, character building, suspense, and steam to keep me enthralled. I love my hubby to death but man I loved Zhori. He had the perfect mix of honor, confidence, strength, cunning, in a hot alpha body that makes me hot. I also loved Brooke she was fierce, smart, kind hearted, yet guarded by her past hardships. I love how Presley showed not everyone can just trust blindly. Brooke didn't allow her trust issues to hold her back and opening her heart to Zhori. The next book sounds soo good and I can't wait to see what happens♡♡
Tempted is the eighth book in the great 'Kalixian Warriors' series.
We find out what happens to Brooke, who was captured again at the end of the seventh book during freeing the human females. When Zhori went back alone to free Brooke, I just thought the book is gonna be a good one! And I was right. The book was really very exciting! Not only do the two have to find a way off Nierra, they also have to hide from Brooke's buyer.
Presley always manages to write the stories in such a way that they are not only totally sweet and heartwarming, but also really hot and steamy - sigh! I could really feel how the feelings and passion between the two developed and built up more and more.
It was just fun to read Brooke and Zhori's story!
Brooke was a fool and scared but brave. I don't know if I will like her at first. Zhorix is the same but looking at his point of view, he was doing his duty no matter how foolish it may appear. I guess this two are just perfect for each other and the story proves it to be true.
The getting to know you stage is one grand adventure for them: trying to evade her "master" while remaining in the planet, finding their way home and in the process falling in love; and when I heard "My soul recognizes yours" I swooned all over again.
They are not fools after all, guess it was the way they should meet and bond.
Tempted
I enjoyed the book. Right off you get caught up in the evolving story of Brooke and Zhori. He is trying to rescue her from slave traders. Brooke had been abducted from earth by aliens. But, in actuality she was traded to the aliens by the earth “higher ups” so that they would be safe from the aliens. Zhori rescues her from the alien who bought her. Together, they hole up in a small room and try to find a way to escape from the planet. The story continues with them trying to stay safe until they are inevitably captured. But, don’t count them out yet. There are sexual scenes that may offend some readers.
Heart pounding adventure
Book 8 was an exciting read! Zhori and Brooke’s story is constantly one dramatic event after another. They’re on a planet that is completely full of criminals and illegal activity. It’s one heart stopping moment after another as they attempt to flee the baddies and get off the godforsaken planet of Nierra. Soon as you think they have a chance something stops them and they have to start all over again. In the meantime of course they fall in love. This was a fun read!
The Fated Mates of the Kalixian Warriors has become one of my favorite series and Presley Hall has become one of my favorite author. Tempted is a great example why. The story is so good it kept me reading way past my bedtime. And the characters are so rich they become friends. I absolutely love this series and this author. I recommend both highly!
Very good, well-written, series! The Kalixian's save women to be sold to terrifying aliens. One hesitates. A Kalixian reaches for her only to have her snatched away by the slavers. He does the only thing he knows to save her. He leaves his fellow warriors and takes an escape pod back to the planet. He finds her on the auction block, sold to a wicked, terrifying alien. How will he save her now? Well, of course, you will have to read the book to know that. ;o)
Brooke and Zhori have a love story for all time! It begins with her capture from an escape attempt. She is the only one recaptured and Zhori stays to help her escape again. There is no trust between them at the beginning. Brooke even attacks him during her escape! But slowly, over time trust develops and a relationship blooms. This is a lovely story and Presley Hall tells it well. It is well worth the read!
Can he save both of them?
Presley has written another good alien/human romance. Why he stayed he doesn’t know, but he had to rescue her. She escapes and runs into him. She doesn’t know if she should trust him. These two characters are cute together. This world they are on is cold, which adds a new element to the story. His rescuing of the female is turning into an uphill battle. If you enjoy alien/human romance this is a book for you.
I love the fact that Zhori stood his ground and went back for Brooke. It was super sweet and a quality you want in a heroine. My only negative was that while I do like a slow build up of chemistry, I just really wanted these two characters to hurry up and get on with it already. I also don’t understand why it takes so long for them to figure out they are mates. But overall another great book in the series.
I really enjoyed it. All of these books have been well written and so is this one. I like how they are singular but to get the whole background it's good to read them in order. I enjoyed reading Zhori and Brooke's story. The only complaint I have is it was predictable. However, I liked reading it and it's full of action, I never got bored.
I received an ARC and I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Zhori and Brooke find their way to each other through a serious of dangerous and suspense-filled adventures. This story feels a bit different in that the characters are almost exclusively isolated from their allies and must survive leaning only on each other. It is a longer and slower burn type of story which, incidentally, is my favourite kind of romance. I enjoyed and happily and voluntarily reviewed it.
I just keep wondering if these Kalixians will ever establish a trade route with earth for things like chocolate and lingerie? This is a fun series nonetheless.
Although technically a standalone, this is a continuation of the previous book (as is the next in the series). So reading that story isn’t essential but makes it easier to follow.
Sweet characters. And a developed relationship despite the instabond. They’re friends first.
