Anxious Girls Do It Better is the travel guide that covers everything you need to know when anxiety is your (invisible) excess baggage. The second in the Girls Guide to the World series, this travel companion for women contains invaluable practical advice for anyone who experiences anxiety while travelling. Including advice from a pilot, doctor and psychologist, alongside author, Bunny Banyai's own experiences of juggling holiday fun with a mixed bag of neuroses, you don't need an official diagnosis of anxiety to get something out of this book.
Perhaps you're simply nervous at the idea of parting with a wad of cash in exchange for three weeks in the Mediterranean. Or maybe you're feeling rattled by the Covid-19 pandemic, which doesn't make you someone with an anxiety disorder, but rather just a normal human being. Visiting an unknown corner of the globe with only a wheelie bag for company could induce anxiety in a bar fridge.
In spite of any worries, Anxious Girls Do It Better will help you to travel anyway, because there's only so much you can learn about the world while lying in bed and watching Netflix. And hey, what's the worst thing that could happen?*
As an anxious girl about to travel I loved this!!! Thanks Zoe for lending this to me it made me feel more prepared and less panicked lol - also super cute and aesthetically pleasing
I liked reading about the author’s own routines and the interviews with the experts. It really helped that this was all bite sized too. Some of it wasn’t helpful for me, but I still felt reassured. A solo trip that’s completely on my own terms feels a little more in my reach now 🥰✈️
A fun and quirky book. I have solo travelled before and can confirm the tips shared in this books are very much applicable. However, I found some of the tips barely scratching the surface and could have been more in depth. Overall, a good read especially for anyone wanting to solo travel. And to those contemplating whether they should solo travel, my advice is if you can, you should :) utterly enlightening.
Really fun read with a lot of good advice, particularly for women traveling alone. Probably three stars (which isn't bad) based on the content of the travel advice alone, but the author's entertaining and genuinely hilarious writing style bumps it up to four. It was enjoyable to read and I actually laughed out loud a few times.
Good advice, funny, and we are clearly anxious about the same things. Haha Much better if you live on the other side of the pond. I'm in the US and some doesn't apply the same. However, when I do travel overseas I will reference this for sure!
Cute book with lovely color and illustrations. The tips are interesting even if you are not anxious traveling. Other than the professional interviews, I wouldn't say the tips are very new or innovative.
Some great tips for what to pack, helping jetlag and when to visit certain places. Worth the pro tip of panty liners - made me laugh and brilliant tip when traveling long distances. Helped me get more excited for my upcoming travel plans!
As a girly who's getting ready for her first overseas trip this book was *fantastic*! It had a lot of practical tips (including exactly what I should pack in my toiletry bag) and prompted me to think about a bunch of stuff I hadn't considered.
An enjoyable, helpful, and funny book to encourage and inspire nervous female travelers. "Travelling...is always elsewhere, and elsewhere is endlessly exciting."
A quirky, quick read about travel. “Anxious Girls Do It Better” covers everything you need to know about travelling when anxiety can sometimes be your excess baggage. This is the third in the “Girls Guide to the World” series. Bunny Banyai gives practical advice from both travel and psychology experts, alongside her own experiences of juggling holiday fun with a certain amount of the jitters. You don't need to suffer from anxiety to get something out of this book. Maybe you’re simply nervous at the idea of parting with a large amount of smackeroos, or, perhaps you're feeling nervous because of Covid-19. I’ve included a few excerpts.
