Everything you wanted to know about kinky practices is covered in this highly entertaining and readable book. Known for her bold, witty prose on all matters related to the bedroom, Kate Sloan makes this an accessible subject for anyone curious about new ways to spice up their sex lives. Whether you are looking for ideas, clarification, or just an enjoyable read, there is plenty here to keep you intrigued. The text is accompanied by helpful tips and illustrations.
This is the book kinksters like me have wanted for decades. An approachable, beautiful, affordable place to start that we can lend to friends and partners who are curious about getting into the stuff we’re into.
Kate (my wife and submissive) writes so thoughtfully about each and every kink, many of which we’ve explored together that even if it’s not your thing, you can understand how and why it might be hot to someone else. The illustrations help more visual folks connect with what’s sexy about kinks like bondage or role play. And the “Try This” section for each kink helps you actually get started and then amp it up with increasingly challenging and hot scenarios to play with.
Get this for yourself, get this for your partners, and then get an extra copy for that friend who’s curious about kink but shy to try it. Your sex life will thank you.
I have been an avid reader of Kate's website, girlyjuice.com, for years and I am so happy to be able to be able to purchase her book and support her work! 101 Kinky Things Even You Can Do is a wonderful, judgement free resource for kinksters at all levels. The illustrations are informing AND titillating - showing just enough to make you more curious. If you are looking for a resource about the variety of kink that is totally affirming yet not overwhelming, look no further! Kate has written an excellent primer that makes you feel welcome and informed. AND she has included resources for continuing education.
Great to just flip through and be inspired, or to be read cover to cover. Loved the tone, the broadness of the topics and the many suggestions (for beginners and more experienced kinksters alike!)
An interesting and eye-opening read. Kink is a lot broader than I thought, and I learned how important negotiation, CONSENT, good communication, and aftercare are in this context. I think, even more so than in what would be considered the 'average' relationship.
I found this at my local metaphysical store, and to be quite honest, the name of the cover intrigued me. I surprisingly have a vast knowledge about both common and uncommon kinks, and I was wondering how many in this book I've actually done, and wanted to check if I could learn anything new from it. Well, there was only one kink of which I had never heard (figging, if anyone's interested in that), but what I appreciated most about this book was the suggestions of how to incorporate these kinks into one's sex life. I was able to look at new kinks in different ways, and to be quite frank, some of the suggestions really turned me on here. The way Kate Sloan described certain acts was also super appealing.
Also, I vastly appreciated the inclusion of how important not only consent is, but also aftercare, especially when it comes to emotionally taxing kinks like sadomasichism or anything involving humiliation. I wish this was something I knew of in the past, but I don't think it is commonly discussed as much as it should be, and definitely not shown in pornography. Another thing I really liked were the graphic pictures.
Overall, this is an extremely excellent guide for both vanilla people as well as those who are already kinky but need a refresher and some new ideas.
I honestly couldn't read a book fast enough. Kate Sloan encompasses literally everything about the subject of kink in less than 150 pages. Sloan crafts a simple, easy to understand and comprehensive list of everything that could be considered a kink. I appreciate how thorough each explanation was and how thoughtful the application processes were as well. This is easily one of the best books I've read on the subject.
so happy to support kate by purchasing and reading this book. it was a fab overview of a variety of kinks and i especially loved the “additional resources” section
