Everyone has a camera about them these days, on their mobile phones, and with hundreds of opportunities to create photographs and images every day, a guide to making the most of this technology is always useful.

The photographer and author Mike Kus takes a look at photography in the mobile phone age, but from a photographer’s perspective. There are informative chapters about composition, light, lenses and technology. There are also chapters about the post-processing of images, and the best places to put your photos for an audience.

There is plenty for the potential mobile phone photographer to learn from the book. The photography that is used is uniformly high-standard, with well-illustrated points made. We learn all about producing bokeh, changing viewpoints in photos, leading with perspective, photographing people, and issues with street and people photography.

For anyone with any interest in digital and mobile phone photography The Pocket Photographer has plenty of useful help and advice, as well as providing further ideas and space for development.

I bought this book as a souvenir from Fotografiska Museum and because I liked the images in it. Not being quite a novice, I didn't find this book very informative - but it has pretty pictures and a nice perspective. For someone trying to improve his/her photographs and is at the beginning of the road, this book might be a good choice.

There are gorgeous photos in here. But the most important thing is that is easy to understand. Everything is very straightforward. And I'm already doing some things that I didn't realise I was doing to make my pictures better. Lots of great ideas in here.

I enjoyed this simple, easy to read guide to taking better photos with your phone. Although some items may seem like common sense, it's a good reminder to see it in writing and be reminded. I picked up a some tips and learned a few new things about my phone camera!

The book contained a number of worthwhile hints for using a phone’s camera. I suspect he focused (possible pun here) on phones with telephoto and wide angle lenses, which mine doesn’t have, but the principles are the same, I suspect.

The techniques from the book do not apply only to phones but also for other cameras. Small and handy book that is easy to read with sample photos on different methods mentioned.

A well produced, attractive little book. But very simplistic. You won’t learn much if you’re taken any sort of pictures in the past. Maybe good for beginners?

Дуже просто книга. З очевидними порадами.
Може бути цікава лише на ранніх етапах захоплення фотографією.
Оцінюю на три зірки через надто вже поверхневий погляд на фотографію
