You’ve read the novels of Bree and Nate’s fight to survive the zombie apocalypse—but they are not the only ones with a story to tell! Contains a novel in five parts set in the Green Fields universe.
The officer... the soldier... the man. When he joined the army, Richards had great plans for this future—but the zombie apocalypse changed his life forever. Serving with Bucky Hamilton as his mentor sounded like the opportunity of a lifetime, until a certain band of scavengers waltzed right through it. And that was even before a half-forgotten acquaintance from his past turned his life into a living hell.
Beware: Contains spoilers for the Green Fields series. The story can be enjoyed as a stand-alone work of fiction but is intended as a companion piece to the novels.
I knew how this story ended and I almost didn't want to read it because of said ending. But I read it anyway. No regrets, just a heavy heart from saying goodbye, yet again, to Red. I really loved his character and enjoyed seeing things from his side and perspective. Yes, I admit, I am crying a little bit right now. Adrienne Lecter is a great storyteller and I thoroughly recommend any of her books. This one, although sad, really shows what an integral character he was in the whole grand scheme of the entire series. He was much more than just a sideline character.
Thank you Adrienne for gifting this story to us readers, and letting Red's memory live on forever through his own words!!!
