USA Today Bestselling Author Bethany Lopez brings you her break-out series about getting a second chance at love later in life. Follow Whitney, Summer, Margo, Charlotte, and Andi as they experience the good, bad, and ugly of dating again in their thirties and forties. Join them in The Jilted Wives Club.
When at first you fail at love, medicate with Dirty Martinis…
Summer has always tried to look on the bright side of things. Sure, her ex-husband was a liar and a cheater, but that didn’t mean all men were untrustworthy, right? Maybe the problem wasn’t her, but the type of man she’s always going for.
Noah would rather spend his nights at home with a good book than out navigating the dating scene. Women like Summer have always terrified him and there’s no denying she’s way out of his league. But when she keeps popping up everywhere it becomes harder and harder to deny their chemistry.
Summer wants to prove she’s more than a Trophy Wife. Sure, she’s sexy, sweet, and has a body that won’t quit, but she’s so much more, and she’ll do whatever it takes to prove it to Noah.
Has Summer finally met her match, or will Noah leave her crying in her Dirty Martini?

I loved this so much! After reading book one, I couldn’t wait for Summer’s story. It was everything I wanted and needed. It was cute, it was fun, and I loved every word.
Noah is an adorkable, yet sexy AF, professor. Summer is a beautiful bombshell and a member of the Jilted Wives Club. Opposites? Yes. But my goodness do the sparks fly.
Noah is clueless to how attractive he is. And that makes him all the more sexy. Summer is beauty queen gorgeous. But not only is she beautiful on the outside, she’s equally beautiful on the inside. They are absolutely perfect together.
The way they meet is so charming and made me smile so big. I loved their connection, their attraction, the way they both blushed constantly. The author told this story perfectly to give me all the warm fuzzies I love in a romance.
Zero angst, tons of happy, giddy feels. If you’re looking for a feel-good RomCom with a lot of heart, some humor, and a little bit of steam, I highly recommend this this book!
I love that both the main characters are truly themselves and you can’t judge them by their outside packages. Quite the adventure and completely worth the trip.
Ugh this was so stinking cute!!! I can’t believe how fast I read that and just couldn’t put it down. I loved everything about this book. I missed these girls and I can’t wait for the next book!
If you read the first book, then you will remember three women who went to a support meeting for divorced women couldn’t get out of the meeting fast enough. The three had a lot in common and started their own club of The Jilted Women. In the first book, Whitney found a good man. This is Summer’s chance to find a good guy. It was funny how Noah and Summer met. I wondered how Noah would ever get with Summer as how shy he was. I was glad that Summer was such a nice person even though she looked like a knock out and people judged her wrong by her looks. This is a sweet book that will make you feel good. I encourage you to read the book. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.
I have a selection of this author's books on my Kindle, but this is the first book I have read. It won't be my last. I won this book in a giveaway on Goodreads. This is my honest review. I really enjoyed this story. It's got lots to like--interesting, appealing characters...relatable storyline...a few flirty, steamy scenes, but nothing too overt. This is not a long, angsty, drawn-out story, but a nice, quick, to-the-point romance that delivers with all the right emotions. I found it to be a sweet, lovely and satisfying romantic read that left me smiling. If you like those types of reads, I highly recommend Trophy Wife. I think you'll enjoy it!
An opposite-attract romance, everything about Summer and Noah’s story just made me feel good. It was charming, sweet and fun… and I just felt the butterflies for both of them as they navigated dating and getting to know one another, proving that opposites do attract and nerdy professors are quite the catch! I really enjoy this series and love the comradery of the Jilted Wives Club—how their friendship bloomed from a common dominator to becoming a supportive and loving sisterhood as they each, in turn, risk their hearts for a second chance at love.
Listened on audio: A new-to-me narrator, Krys Janae brought this light-hearted romance to life, capturing the personalities of the characters as well as their heart-warming and endearing moments. It was a very enjoyable listening experience.
I recently listened to Trophy Wife by Bethany Lopez. Narrated by Krys Janae, this is Summer’s story and it was such a delightful listen. Summer is divorced and moving forward when Noah comes into her life. Noah is sweet, charming, and sexy, though he may not see it. Summer is beautiful and smart and out to get what she wants this time. I just loved these two together. Their story was sweet, light-hearted and a fun listen and like the previous book, I loved the friendship between the woman and how they support each other. I am very excited for the next book!
Book 2 Trophy wife is a meet cute romance. No real angst in this one. Everything seems easy peasy and fits into place. 3 star listen, I liked the narration. There’s a new wife (sister of the first books mmc) Hea No real smut, but there’s one or two steamy scenes.
Summers story was so sweet and perfect. Sometimes a good read with a tender story, beautiful heroine and dreamy, unbelievably NICE, sexy guy is a great change of space. On to Margo’s story!!
Noah was so, so off his game with a bombshell like Summer lol It was so fun to read it. But it’s been a while since I read it and don’t remember much lol so.. yeah, it was good!
Work Wife.
I found this series a while back, when I got a free copy of the first book, The Starter Wife.
Three recently divorced women meet each other at a divorced women's support group. It was so awful that they left. They literally ran into each other in the hall. That was the start of The Jilted Wives Club.
This is Summer's book. Summer had a rough childhood, growing up with a toxic mother. Summer is a beautiful blonde bombshell. People tend to look at her and judge her by her outside. Divorced from her cheating husband, Summer is ready to get back out there and start dating.
When Summer finds the picure of a man on a dating app, she is very interested. Unfortunately, she accidentally deletes his profile. One night, she sees him at a bar and her friend introduces her. Noah is shocked. What would a bombshell like her want with a geeky professor, like him.
This is such a sweet story. It is basically a "don't judge a book by its cover" story. I love these two. At one point, one of Summer's friends gets remarried. They play Andrea Bocelli's Return to Love, featuring Ellie Goulding. I had to look it up because I had never heard of it. The song brought me to tears. It fit the couple so well.
The author builds her characters with such thought. It made reading this book so wonderful.
Trophy Wife The Jilted Wives Club, Book 2 By: Bethany Lopez Narrated by: Krys Janae
I want to be a member of the Jilted Wives Club! These three friends have such a unique and true tie and only want the best for each other. Summer misses her chance to get in touch with Noah on the dating app, so when she bumps into the nerdy, adorable professor in person, it only takes Margo a hot second to get them introduced. Noah thinks the beautiful Summer is out of his league, but once the two get passed the awkward stage, there is a real chemistry, after all, opposites attract, right? But will that attraction be enough to get Summer and Noah together? Bethany Lopez treats us to a funny, romantic story of two lonely people who find out just how perfect they are together. Both have great friends, and I loved Noah's parents! This was a fun a quick listen that made me smile and fall in love as the trophy wife finds her prize.
Krys Jayne tells us the story with a good narration. There were times was hard to determine who was speaking, but I enjoyed her emotions, comedic timing and inflections making the story entertaining.
I really do not understand this book. Like, it wasn't necessarily bad. It could've been good, BUT.
-It leans really hard into stereotypes- like too much so -It's got a strange obsession with breasts- like they talk about everyone's breasts- and the main character's best friend wears a dress- the comment is "It was a beautiful dress, it made her breasts look fabulous." - - The FMC is not likeable- she's very immature for the age she's supposed to be and she's stereo typically a ditzy blonde (see issue 1) - The MMC is relatively likeable, but he apparently has bad self esteem and lives in oblivion to those around him. -The FMC's friends have their moments, but overall don't draw you in. -The author has apparently never seen an ultrasound or didn't appropriately edit, because at one point, a character goes in for a 6 week ultrasound and there's a big baby head on it- which is grossly inaccurate for a 6 week ultrasound.
I honestly, don't know why I gave this three stars- I guess because I didn't hate it and the writing itself was easy and outside of a few minor grammatical errors was fine. I would consider reading this author again, but definitely not this series.
Summer is the petite, beautiful and positive one of her group of friends. A smart and sweet young woman who wants to be seen by more than her looks and despises the term “trophy wife”. But after the divorce of her twice cheating husband, she’s found it’s harder than she thought to find someone she really wants to date…until she sees him. Noah Mason is a college professor who hasn’t found love due to his dedication to following his dream, but now said dream is in close range, he knows he needs to get back in the saddle. And then, she’ll cross his path…twice. The second book in the Jilted Wives series is both sweet and funny. Noah and Summer are both a bit out of their comfort zone and have to figure out how to be together, but the ride to that destination is filled with laughs and heartfelt emotions. I liked this book better than the first one and I enjoyed every minute of it. I highly recommend it if you are in the market for a fast, fun and sweet.
This was my first Brittany Lopez, novel and unfortunately, it will be my last. I do not care for her style in the least. There is absolutely no character development, most of the chapters were filled with trivial details and banal dialogue. I literally could skim from conversation to conversation without reading anything in between and miss nothing. The gist of the novel is that blonde bombshell Summer is used to being liked for her looks only. Her husband left her, and so she’s part of a group of friends who are also jilted wives. She sees a professor on a dating app who she thinks is cute. They meet, he doesn’t realize how cute he actually is, they fall in love, somehow get pregnant and then get married. That’s it. Nothing more to it.
Summer is just so nice, seriously she is one heck of a sunny person. She thought she found her HEA but it wasn't to be and what she really wants, she thinks wouldn't want her. Noah is honestly totally clueless when it comes to the opposite sex. He thinks Summer is totally out of his league. Summer decides to go after what she wants....and we get book two in the Jilted Wives Club.
I enjoyed this story and love the author's writing style. My only complaint is that when I thought something major was happening it wasn't....Summer was just embarrassed. I LOVED the mob flash scene.
I really enjoyed seeing Summer, whose personality personifies the name, find her forever love. This series' concept is very relatable and easy to connect with, and enjoy.
Noah! Clueless, sexy professor Noah... soo adorable! It was fun to watch him "get the girl" he feels is out of his league. His sweet, unassuming nature makes him a good book boyfriend... and their chemistry sizzles off the pages.
I have enjoyed the banter and supportive nature of Whitney, Margo, (+ Charlotte) and how Luka and now Noah fit in. Please read in order for the best reading experience. On to book three!! :)
Trophy Wife is the second installment in Bethany Lopez' Jilted Wives Club series. Books can be read as standalones but are most enjoyable when read in order.
Summer and Noah have an epic meet-cute involving a dating app and a chance encounter at a bar. Noah is a professor who can't imagine that a hottie like Summer would be interested in him, so he doesn't call when Summer's friend gives him her number. Then another chance encounter in a grocery store leads to dates and so much more!
I loved how both characters gained their self esteem through each other! Highly recommend! Five stars!
Trophy Wife (The Jilted Wives Club #2) was another great read by Bethany Lopez. Summer has always tried to look on the bright side. Although her ex-husband was a liar and a cheater, she wants to believe that not all men are like that. Noah would rather spend his nights at home with a book. Summer seems to keep popping up everywhere and neither one of them can deny their chemistry. Summer wants to prove to everyone that she's more than a trophy Wie. I really enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more by the author.
Summer and Noah are my absolute favorite! Bethany did a fantastic job on their story. She has her hands full with Margo's story next.
Summer was once a trophy wife, that ended and now she is using an app that has her choosing her next lover. Well that is till she accidentally swipes left. Now she'll never have the chance. But that's tell fate steps in and boy oh boy does it. I loved every second of this book and I can't wait to read Margo's story.
3.5 I enjoyed the characters and the story but honestly it all felt too easy. There was barely any conflict or something that the characters had to overcome that would show character development etc. I kept waiting for something to happen and any potential conflict/challenges were given maybe a few lines. I think that was handled better in the first book of the series. I still enjoy the idea for the series though and will check out the next books in the series.
This was a great, quick, cute listen. The narrator did a good job telling the story. This is Summer's story she is the bubble one in the group. Summer is the one who is reading to get right back on the horse after her divorce. She first sees Noah on a dating app. but accidentally swipes no. Then runs into him at a bar. Noah is a college professor who can't believe someone like Summer would be interested in him.
It was vapid, shallow, and comforting? I've been wondering if I have the ability or talent to make friends, and this book shows a world where people not only can but do. It shows a world where it's not only easy but comforting and comfortable. They have positive interactions and don't wonder if they're only being tolerated. To begin with, I wondered if this was the author's dream of what friendship could be like, but then, I remembered some people do have friend groups.
Trophy Wife by B. Lopez is the second stand-alone in the Jilted Wives Club. Summer is a divorcee and looking for love again. The romantic at heart wants a nerdy glasses wearing man. And here he is. Noah the college professor for literature is a snerdy as they can be. He's just adorable, just like bombshell Summer. A good read, 4,5 stars, vp no zon
