Great Vampire Romance!

Very interesting story about a former Vampire Prince Nicolas who teams up with a human Anna, in search of the Vampire Aleksander who murdered his father and took over the Throne. Anna is looking for Aleksander because she saw him murder her best friend’s father and on the same day, her friend disappeared as did her own abusive father.

Aleksander took a step back. “Remember what I said, Nicolas. Try to be on your best behavior, or I will give you reason to be scared.”
Without another word, he turned and walked away.
“What did he mean by that?” she asked.
“He means he’s a dick,” was the curt answer Nicolas gave her.

Anna needs answers so she can stop looking over her shoulder and fearing that her father will come after her at any time. Also she wants to know if he friend is alive or dead. At first Nicolas plans to use Anna as a pawn or sacrifice, not caring if she lives or dies as a diversion while he is able to sneak onto the palace grounds and kill the king. However the more time Nicholas spends with Anna, the more he decides he doesn’t want her to die.

DNF

I made it to chapter nine and had to call it quits. The main reason for abandoning it is the leading female character. She has no talent, no helpful skills, and no redeeming likable qualities. The story leaps to fast outcomes and doesn’t allow it to naturally flow from one thought or event to another. And there is more telling then showing.

Example for the DNF at chapter nine: After a bar fight, the main character tells this vampire she’s taken defense classes and can take care of herself. No. Not anywhere in the nine chapters does that ring true. She’s already been dominated by force, flung twice threw the air, choked, and has not even remotely had the upper hand in any situation. She is a TSTL character.

One last pet peeve of mine. I hate when authors write in characters with occupations that are in reality, a time consuming profession. Because most of the time they barely are doing their job the entire book. She’s a teacher but is able to cancel classes as she wishes. As a PAYING college student, I would expect to be taught. And knowing this character will have to travel at least three days in the future, when does she actually teach?

The story has bones but needs much work to iron out the content.

sexy and suspenseful!

Honestly, I'm not very fond of paranormal and vampire stories, but I ended up enjoying the book way more than I expected.

The characters and their backgrounds were intriguing, and I caught myself wanting to know more about them.

As the plot went on, we started realizing that not everything was as we thought and learnt, and some people surprised us a lot when we got to know more about them.

Some of my questions went unanswered, but as this is a standalone part of a series, I think I'll still get the answers I'm looking for.

BTW, I'm excited for the next books, and as I already checked, it's about someone that really caught my atention (I don't want to spoil).

Enjoy!!

The blur made the story sound halfway decent but frankly I found it annoying it was very hard to finish and really didn't keep my attention I had to force myself to finish it for the reading challenge the vampire I guess was okay although I have the feeling that the author couldn't decide what type of personality she wanted the vampire to have the female character got on my nerves with some extremely asinine behavior and contradictions well things that I thought were contradictions and my opinion that I won't go into 4 spoiler purposes I did not like this book by the end and will not be reading any of the other ones

••••••••••

REVIEW: 3.75 stars--THE LOST VAMPIRE PRINCE is the first instalment (and re-release) in Melody Raven’s (Mallory Crowe) contemporary, adult EVIL RISING paranormal romance series. This is seven-hundred year old vampire Nicolas Zolkin, and twenty-eight year old, college teacher Annabelle Roberts’ story line.

NOTE: THE LOST VAMPIRE PRINCE was originally released as Finding Fire by Mallory Crowe.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Annabelle and Nicolas) THE LOST VAMPIRE PRINCE follows the enemies to lovers romance and relationship between seven-hundred year old vampire Nicolas Zolkin, and twenty-eight year old, college teacher Annabelle Roberts. Annabelle Roberts is an active member of a group of vampire hunters but it has been fifteen years since her last deadly encounter with any of their kind. Having watched a vampire kill someone she loved, Annabelle continues to search for answers when a mysterious phone call directs our heroine to Nicolas Zolkin, a seven hundred year old vampire, and the man with whom Annabelle will fall in love. What ensues is the building but acrimonious relationship between Annabelle and Nicolas, and the potential fall-out as our couple come face to face with both of their pasts.

Nicolas lost everything when his father, the King, was killed. On the run for most of his life, Nicolas had never intended to return to the home that brought back too many painful memories of a time long ago. Meeting Annabelle Roberts finds our hero on a cross-country trek pursuing a death wish for the woman with whom he is falling in love.

The relationship between Nicolas and Annabelle is one of immediate attraction but Annabelle only wants information, the retrieval for which she is completely unprepared. There is something about Annabelle that draws Nicolas like a moth to a flame, a flame that will potentially lead our hero to his final breath. While our heroine is desperate to face the man that destroyed her life, there are times when she is painfully foolish and irresponsible with her own mortal life. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to several members of Annabelle’s vampire hunting group, as well as King Aleksander and his Queen, and vampires Marcus and Fredrick. Marcus’s story line is next in The Vampire Villain.

THE LOST VAMPIRE PRINCE is a story of family, vengeance, betrayal and blood. The fast paced premise is entertaining and captivating; the characters are colorful and charismatic; the romance is fated and seductive. My only complaint is the quick resolution to the story line conflict, and the abrupt end to the story.

When I say I love vampire romances, I mean vampire romances where there's a kickass female who fights to the bloody end along side the vampire and only when she is bleeding out and he has to make the choice to save her do they realize their love.

This book...was not that. At first I was rooting for Anna. Tragic backstory, some kickass skills, and then she falls flat.

Granted the girl has some serious daddy issues...literally. I mean to be fair, she has reasons to be. But she should also have some vampire PTSD but instead decides to break into a vampire's apartment because some guy calling himself Mr. X told her to.

Y'all, this girl is D U M B. As more of the book went on I was like why is this sexy, 4oo-year old dude so obsessed with her. And then I thought of one Bella Swan. And then I realized home girl is named Annabelle and is about as flat of a character as Bella was and I just felt like I was stuck in some alternate reality of Twilight but with only one book to slog through instead of three (and no I did not read Midnight Sun).

Our lovely ex-prince vampire Nicolas is grating, annoying, and as irritable as a wet housecat and only marginally makes me lady parts swoon at the end of the book because he at least knows how to please a woman.

I gave three stars because I really liked the plot of the book, but Raven just kind of rushes what could have been a fantastic ending all for the sake of L O V E. Ugh. Give me more witty vampire banter and less lovelorn human, please.

This is The Lost Vampire Prince, book one of a new series written by Melody Raven. I really enjoyed this story! It was dark and steamy as well as mysterious. It will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very exciting conclusion! I love me some vampires! I’m thinking that Melody Raven will quickly be on the top of my One Click list!

Anna has spent the last fifteen years searching for answers. Her search brings her to Nicholas, a centuries old vampire who can lead her to the monster responsible for altering her life all those years ago. But as Anna gets more involved with Nicolas, it becomes harder to discern who the real monsters are and who she can trust. As Nicolas makes his growing feelings towards Anna obvious, Anna holds back, knowing he's keeping secrets.

But then again, so is she.

They will have to trust each other long enough to find their common target if either one of them is going to find the answers they're looking for. But as they get closer to their target, Anna and Nicolas get closer with each other and soon the answers to the past lead to dreams of their future together.

The Lost Vampire Prince is the first book in the Evil Rising series by Melody Raven. The book was well-written, with Raven adding a few of her own unique twists to the vampire lore. While part of a series, each book in the Evil Rising series focuses on different characters so The Lost Vampire Prince can definitely be read as a standalone. This book was a fairly quick read for me, but I was immersed with the plot and characters, wondering how Nicolas and Anna's story would end. I found Nicolas to be a bit too cloak and dagger for me at various points in the plot, making it easy to understand why Anna would find him suspect and deny her growing feelings for him. I thought both Anna and Nicolas were dynamic characters, but I would've loved to see even more character and world building when it came to the vampire world and its denizens. Overall, The Lost Vampire Prince was a good read, perfect for a quick, literary escape. The plot is a perfect standalone story, but the world and secondary characters are interesting and I can't wait to see where Raven takes her supernatural characters in the next book.

Sexy Vampire Thriller!!😍💘🔥
(Read using Kindle Unlimited)

This book was total escapism at it's best 😎

Anna is a 28 year old grad student, although she looks much younger. She was horrendously scarred, by her abusive father, until he disappeared when she was 13 yrs old! She is convinced she saw her bestfriends father murdered by a Vampire, the same night Evie & her own Father disappeared.😳 She's been searching for that 'Vampire', Aleksandre, or a way to find him ever since!!

Whilst out jogging at night, Anna gets an anonymous call & is told a Vampire lives in the building opposite & what apartment number he lives in. She's so desperate, after 15 years, she decides to check it out!!😱 She risks her life the next night by following him, it nearly ends very badly for her!!

Nikolas knows exactly who Anna wants to talk to once she shows him a drawing of Alek. He's the same man he wants to kill!!🔪 They agree to help each other to accomplish each other's goals. Neither count's on their magnetic attraction to the other. It definitely complicates matters for Nikolas as he didn't care if she survived .... Now he does!!🔥💘😍

I lost myself in the story of this book, I really needed the escape too!!👍 I adored the characters & can't wait to find out where the Author takes us next in this new world!😎 Parts were quite emotive but not overly so, unless it was between the couple 😍 It was a steamy, thriller but although there's plenty of tension & 'who dunnit' about the plot, it isn't bigger down in seriousness!! It had a great balance 👍😍

A definite recommendation from me if you want some steamy, escapism with a good plot too!!🌟

There were some good parts to this book but over all it was a bit lacking. Originally it seems like this would be up my alley but I couldn't really get into it due to the main character um this being because she didn't make any sense to me.

To begin with I found her group the Stakes to be really odd in the 1st place mostly because none of them as far we know have no experience with vampires and her only experience is seeing someone get a chunk bitten out of them. She has no fighting experience and it's not like they
took the time to train themselves and gather all these different skill sets and so on and so forth, so for their group to consider themselves hunters is a little weird to me and the fact that there is secrecy in that group is also weird to me like why are you guys keeping a secret as to why you would even be a part of the Stakes?

Also not to mention the same girl with 0 experience decided to tail a 700 year old vampire how does that make sense? What would make you think that was a good thing to do? And not only that but she broke into his apartment. Forgive me if I'm wrong but that's just not something a smart person does. Her going after Alexander also didn't make a whole lot of sense to me mostly because it wasn't with the intention of getting revenge she just wanted to know what happened with Evie and Charles which I can understand being worried about Evie because she was someone that she deeply cared about but Charles I don't understand why she made such a big deal about because he was a piece of shit and I mean at that point he had been out of her life for many years. Why not just be glad that hes out of your life but I guess also there was the fear that if he was still alive he would come back for her so I guess I could understand that a little bit.

Melody’s writing style is easy to read. I was committed to the story quickly because of Annabelle’s mention of her group named ‘The Stakes’. I wanted to see what it was all about. The storyline was interesting and there were many secrets that slowly came out throughout the book. This kept me glued to it and I struggled to put it down. I enjoyed the romance that blossomed between Nicolas and Anna.

It kept me on the edge of my seat wanting to see what happens next because Anna seemed to think she was immortal. She kept running into danger without really thinking about it. The world the author created was not fully explained and there wasn’t much world-building because most of it was the normal world.

Annabelle was a 28-year-old woman with either balls the size of melons or she was just stupid. She would keep running head first into dangerous situations and going after vampires which could kill her easily. I did enjoy her personality and stubbornness though and would have liked to see the faces of the vampires she kept sassing.

The dialogue was easy to follow and there wasn’t really anything outstanding or bad about it. I enjoyed all the different characters and all the twists and turns that came with them. There are sex scenes and they have medium sensuality. This is a series and it is book one in the series. The story ends with a lead-in to book two with the next character stories. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes vampire stories and vampire romance novels. I enjoyed reading about the lost vampire prince that found his princess.

I really liked this book. It has suspense, deceit, secrets and revelations. Instead of one alpha vampire there are two. This is
Nicolas and Annabelle’s (Anna) story.

You meet Annabelle who has been looking for vampires since an incident happened to her 15 years earlier. She sees her best friend's father killed by a vampire. Then, her best friend and her father disappear. She just wants to know what happens to them. She finds vampire Nicolas, after receiving a phone call from a mysterious Mr. X.

Nicolas is an alpha in every sense of the word. After Anna breaks into his apartment, she goes back the next night to follow him. She follows him to a club and he takes her into an alley to find out what she is doing. She tells him she is looking for a certain vampire who has answers to what happened to her friend and father. Nicolas decides to help her because, he wants revenge against this vampire. Anna is trying to fight her attraction to Nicolas and does for a little while, but that resolve crumbles. When they arrive at Aleksander's they become separated. She comes face to face with Aleksander and is now going to get answers to what happened then. Will she be happy with the answers she gets and will she be reunited with Nicolas?

Disclaimer, i might be a bit dramatic
It was good until they got to evie like how is Anna not mad at her for leaving her for 15 years, she couldn't have come to her and told her she was alive during one of those 15years? Like why wasnt she more mad at her so called bestie, anna been traumatized by thay whole thing and its all she thinks about and her so called bestie couldnt have left her queenly duties to give her closure. Nope hate evie and her husband. why did Anna become schizophrenic? Nicolas did ome thing that he kept apologizing for and she started making it out to seem as though he did it with malicious intent. She really was milking that mind thing girl bsf he did it to save u like r u serious rn? And also annoying how evie and whats his ugly name where the king and queen when the rightful king was there it made no sense how he just became friends with Aleksander like where did the hatred go? For 60 years you've hated him and now it's suddenly gone? That part really upset me like I like Marcus more then Aleksander he's irritating. Overall the ending was not it like how did Nicolas just let go of his revenge, I liked the summary of the book but I wish he could've taken back his place.

Only Human

Anna hunted down a vampire finally after fifteen years. She had to know about her best friend and her vicious father. She hoped Evie was alive and her father was dead. Mysterously, someone called her with a tip about a vampire, Nicolas. She was skilled with a lock pik, so she broke into his apartment. He knew she had been there. Her scent was all through the apartment, even his bedroom. Then she was following him, but he caught her. She told him what she wanted and he wanted the same thing. But for a different reason. The energy between them was shocking and scared Anna to death. So, they made plans to go to the compound. But the best made plans of men and mice will go astray! And they did. Anna had to protect her protecter. Then the bad guy stabbed Anna! She was dying, but an unexpected hero gave her his blood. Then he disappeared. He hated to ruin his image. But there is a happily ever after for Anna and Nicolas. Unexpected but good 👍! This is an adult only book. It is part of a series but each book has a different couple and a happy ending. So, it's all good.

I enjoyed The Lost Vampire Prince by Melody Raven - although it wasn't perfect. The romance was steamy, I liked all of the characters, the writing was well-done and edited. If you like vampire romances, this book is pretty solid.

My only real complaint is that I wish it had a little more depth. I think the author could have pushed a little further into the world and character-building than she did. The lead up into the story left out a lot of explanation of Annabelle's past (and well, frankly, the past of all the characters) it felt skimmed over in a way. Though it didn't detract from the story, I do feel that a stronger tie into those past moments with the abuse of Annabelle, her friendship with Evie, and the dynamic between Nicolas and his father would have substantially improved how connected I felt to the characters throughout the story. As it stands, it was a good book - it just wasn't a stand-out one.

Still, I'd recommend you pick it up if you're looking for a fast paranormal romance story to pick up.

Although the beginning of the book was kind of confusing, I quickly became engaged in the story and finished it in record time. Although the thought that there are clubs of people that are looking for vampires is kind of strange to me, this was only a small part of the story line.

The real story is Anna and Nicolas. A human and a vampire. Both have secrets, both have agendas. The back story is told in fits and spurts, but you learn a little of Anna’s past and the reason she is looking for a vampire.

The story is predictable at times, but that is to be expected for what is essentially a love story. There is a little bit of a twist at the end that will make you want to continue the series, but no real cliffhanger. I am looking forward to reading the next book, but I don’t have to hurry and read it before I forget what happened in this one.

Vengeance

Annabelle was beaten by her father growing up. 15 years ago, she saw a vampire kill a man. At the same time her father and her best friend disappeared. She hopes her father is dead and her friend is alive. She's been searching for the vampire she saw ever since.

When a different vampire is suddenly found by her she takes risks to get answers. She and this vampire get closer while she tries to figure out if she can trust him. Together they go after the vampire she's been searching for. Nicolas wants to kill him but Anna's not sure.

Their relationship develops as they get closer to their target but Anna knows he's not interested in a future with her. He's an old vampire and she's just a human.

This is a good story with strong characters. I thought the ending was a little abrupt after the build up but everything was wrapped up.

This genre is not one that I usually read. Wanting to read something different, I decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised. Though it's a little slow getting going, it was a truly enjoyable read.
Anna is interested in finding a vampire due to a tragedy that happened fifteen years before. She is mysteriously directed to Nicolas, a vampire. The story takes off from there. There's mystery, romance, intrigue, action, adventure and plenty of twists and turns.
The characters are complex and believable - even though many of them are vampires. When the story ends, you are left wondering what will happen next. You are intrigued by Marcus, Anna, Nicolas, Evie and Aleksander, I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
Highly recommend this book for a departure from reality.

Ok, so you’re wondering why I’ve given such a low rating for the book and I want to be clear that it’s not because I don’t love the book, I do, it’s just I read it a few years ago already under the Bad Boys of the Underworld series by Mallory Crowe. And yes, I know that series is no longer available on Amazon but it was one of my first in the paranormal genre and got me hooked😀 Ok, so to explain my low rating.....it’s because I was under the impression it was a new series! Thankfully I received an advance copy from the author for this and I’m disappointed it wasn’t a new series😢 Anna and Nicolas though will blow your minds and the entire series is worth reading, if Melody/ Mallory continues on with the stories that I know will follow!

A vampire revolt led by Aleksander ended with the death of their king, Nicolas's father, and Nicolas's banishment.
Aleksander also may be responsible for the death and/or disappearance Anna's father and her best friend Evie. Nicolas and Anna both have their reasons for finding vampire king Aleksander and when they do some surprising truths are revealed.

Nicolas and Anna are strong characters and there is a genuine spark between them from the moment they meet. I love this author's writing style and I was really caught up in this story. I am looking forward to reading Marcus's story.

I am voluntarily reviewing an advance reader copy of this book.

I am in love with Melody Raven's paranormal romance series. Vampires have always fascinated me, but Melody is able to take a common concept in this day and make it her own. I am very excited to see where this series goes.

The interactions between the two main characters Anna and Nicolas are not only hilarious and entertaining, but the chemistry is off the charts! Anna is such a spunky character and it was refreshing to see such a strong female protagonist in a story. And Nicolas! Well, he just drips sexiness in every way. The scenes of these two are full of fire and passion, you just can't help rooting for them!

Although a little slow in the beginning, this story soon picked up and became a great start to what I think promises to be a good series. Annabelle (Anna) and Nicolas had an attraction from the moment they were mysteriously paired together. Both were hunting the same vampire, one seeking answers and one seeking revenge. Will they both get what they are looking for? Will they act on their attraction and let a relationship develop or keep it business only? There was drama, suspense, romance, and twists and turns. I enjoyed it and am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Terrible

I couldn't get past the first few chapters. Thought it was because I started this late at night, but no, still bad The next day. The main character sounded like a 12yr old. Maybe she has an executive processing disorder? Her "voice" was immature, stilted, and completely unrealistic. In the little I read, she seemed to have built herself up in her own mind as some amazing vampire killer, with no training and dress up clothes she dug out of the bottom of her closet. I couldn't get past her awesome Clark Kent disguise and vapid self-assurances of normality. All together, it felt like I was reading a book report with a little dialogue thrown in.

Enjoyable

So I definitely enjoyed this book a lot. It starts off a bit slow and long winded but once it picks up, it’s great. There are some continuity issues regarding vampire rules (must be invited it, but then they can just walk into each other’s places uninvited).

One big issue I had is spoilery, so stop reading now if you care.

I assume the girls are the same age so 28 now, 15 years ago is 13 years old. So E met and ran away with A when she was a child? That’s a big issue for me to wrap my head around.

A spoiler in review.

I really quite enjoyed this book. The main female lead was likable, funny and strong and the vamp male lead was interesting too. They both had an objective and the story progressed well. What I didn't particularly care for or like was the thought of a multi-century old vamp getting 'involved ' in her long ago, estranged best friend!??! Apparently not ageing a day since they last met???...wouldn't that make her about...12? Or 13? Anyway...It finished around 80% where the next book in the series continued with a few chapters. Found it free. 2 1/2🌟🌟

Emmmm

This should have been better than it was. The characters all had secrets that slowly came out but mutedly. No big reveals and definitely no fan fare. Someone looking for vampires, a friend who disappeared and hopefully news on her father. All are linked but why bring her into a larger scenario. When it came down to who did what and why this took second place to another happening. Seems to me the author needed something else to finish off this book.
Have had a look at the other books but even they do not hold much hope so I am choosing to stop at the first book.
