There was once a dragon named Gerald who was perpetually annoyed by his little sister. She interrupted his computer time. She pulled out the batteries of his favorite toys. She never left him alone. One day, Gerald decided to build a robot version of himself. He hoped his sister would play with the robot and leave him alone. Can artificial intelligence save Gerald from an annoying little sister? Or will he learn she is his best teammate? Find the answer to that question and more in this exciting book.
New-author Lucas Machado has delivered a children’s book worthy of a seasoned writer and illustrator. Gerald 2.0 is a delightful adventure in sibling relationships, problem-solving and gaining the wisdom to recalibrate when best-laid plans go amiss. The illustration work is top-notch: advancing the story, expanding the imagination and providing background details that “go the extra mile.” A learn-to-draw page and an interactive page are a welcome bonus.
Dealing with an annoying little sister – that’s life. Learning to be mindful of what you wish for – that’s priceless. I think we are going to hear a lot more from Gerald!
Such a lovely book about siblings with such a sweet ending (won't give any spoilers). A must read for any kiddo on getting along and cooperation, even if they don't have a sibling. My kids and my nieces and nephew absolutely love this book. A robot eating juice boxes and cheetos gets them laughing every time!
“How sweet!” is what My 4 year-old said at the end. We really liked it. He was very focused through the whole story. We will be reading this one again.
