A YA Romance novel set at Darwin boarding school following the life of Emily Greene as she falls into a love triangle between her friend's brother and the boy in her maths class.
I’ve tried to read this book on 3 separate occasions now, and the most i’ve gotten to is 80% and caused a mini slump.
I actually have quite a few problems with this book. The MC in this book was awful and unbearable, I could barely handle reading her anymore. It was very back and forth with the “i’m different from everyone else.” I think character development could’ve helped the MC a lot, but unfortunately there was none. The graphic sex scenes were a little peculiar to see in a YA book, but I also read Maas and Anna Todd at 14 so it wasn’t something I haven’t seen people take too far with. The author has no diversity but then explains it as it’s more realistic in the british countryside but then proceeds to call her entire book “satirical”, and simply “a work of fiction” (which obviously it is), which leads me to question why couldn’t you have added a little diversity??? Anyways, the problems in this book could easily be solved but the author chooses to sit and talk about how much money she makes from Amazon, instead of taking genuine advice so. She has great potential, and I hope to see her improve as an author, but this was just.. not it.
THIS BOOK HAS LEFT ME SHOOK! I just finished this book and I am speechless. I really enjoyed this book not only because of the story but also because of the amazing messages it portrays. The ending.... I..... get ready to be shook. All in all, I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone. Also, amazing job to Rachel on her first novel. I can’t wait to see what else you write in the future. (I read the ebook version but I’m thinking of buying it physically now 😂)
this book was so fun to read! it kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time with the drama and twists and turns. i loved reading about all love triangles and friendship hardships the main character went through. i could never decide which guy i wanted her to end up with. if you arent familiar with the english school system it would be good to look that up before reading because it makes it easier to read. such a great first novel from rachel edmunds!
After thinking it was just another YA love triangle romance book, I was happily surprised to find that she chose herself. The unexpected twists throughout the whole book were great and I would love to read future books by this author.
Heard so many good things about this book from several people so I had to give it a go. So worth it! Such an easy read, engaging and fast paced. Loved the way it ended. It completely took me by surprise and the only thing I could ask for is a sequel! Will definitely read anything else you write.
Mostly Me is Rachel Edmunds first novel which follows Emily Green as she starts at a private school after being awarded a scholarship. This is a young adult contemporary novel. I want to start off this review by saying that I only want to offer constructive feedback for Edmunds.
I did like this book, it was a very fast read and easygoing and perfect if you’re just wanting a simple read which doesn’t require much focus. When Emily attends school she quickly gets involved in a love triangle between Nathan and Donnie, personally, I felt the characters interactions were very rushed, that as a reader I didn’t feel anything towards them, they had limited character building and I wanted sometime to see each characters personality and how they’re relationship with Emily developed. For instance, one of my favourite scenes was when Nathan picked Emily up for her birthday and they were playing Mario Kart, I thought this good and it was nice to see how the two characters acted just hanging out.
Next up, I loved Rosie, she was given the typical jealous ex plot but that quickly developed which I was so happy about and was glad to see her redemption and that she really cared about Emily and inspired her in her projects and continued to support her throughout her mixed feelings between the two boys.
So, my personal opinion about Emily was that overall I didn’t like her much. It frustrated me how she never took on any responsibility for her actions and was always very quick to blame others for her problems. It just felt like she whined a lot about her issues and was never their for any of her own friends. I totally understood why Hannah was angry with her. Again, I would have enjoyed seeing Emily develop these relationships with her friends.
Overall, I think this was a good first novel and it’s a fast paced easy read for anyone who is wanting that.

I feel like 15-16 year old me would have rated this 5 stars. The ending was good but I feel like it has left room for a second book which I would give ago.
This book... WAS AMAZING WHOLY CRAP!! I loved the characters and the story line. Even if there were a few grammar mistakes or missing letters, the story was well paced, it didn’t move to fast and it was so captivating, I couldn’t put it down. I have one thing that I didn’t like... WHYD U DO THAT TO ROSIE??!! I mean I know what she didn’t die or anything but still, that’s really depressing. I’d say like 14+ for age rating.

the book was a simple short romance which isn't my kind of thing. There's also fairly graphic scenes and the MC is a pick me. There is a good plot twist though. It's not badly written just not for me
Kept seeing it on TikTok and then Nina read it and said it was good so then I had to read it but I'm going to buy my own copy after reading it. I see what all the hype was about.
This came up on my fyp on TikTok and I dnf’d it the first time so I went back and finished it. It’s one of the worst books I’ve read recently. The mc is so awful and unlikeable- how does she have two boys pining over her? The lack of diversity is appalling but not shocking. I just didn’t like the writing tbh.
