I was in love with this book. It was a one sitting read. I seriously could not put it down. Mason was so funny,he totally quoted Joey from friends and I loved it!! And Jessie was just a geeky, curvy (not just in the right places either) and was not falling for the new manwhore of the office.... or so she thought.
I love a story where there is obvious sexual tension but it is not acted on right away, it just builds that awesome suspense. Mason wanted Jessie right away and while Jessie might seem attracted to him, she shot him down every chance she got. Mason doesn't go down without a fight though and in the process of trying to get into her pants, the play-bear ends up becoming a one woman man.
Eve Langlais always knows how to get her readers fully into a story. She delivers action, suspense, mystery, her characters are always fun to get to know and extremely HOT when they finally get it on. You will be laughing out loud, fanning yourself and totally glued to the pages in Swan and the Bear. I love seeing these two walls crumple and see how Mason falls in love and Jessie starts feeling sexy and finally starts to trust her feelings. We also see our grumpy ol' bear and his energizer bunny and there are a few surprises there. Eve also left us off with the starting of a new book and I am super excited for that!!! This is a must read!!

Ahhhh, Eve Langlais never fails to amuse me with her humorous, lighthearted, and sexy paranormal offerings. Seriously, my cheeks hurt whenever I finish one of her books because I pretty much devour them in one sitting with a smile plastered to my face the whole time!
'Swan and the Bear' is the second installment of Langlais' 'Furry United Coalition' (endearingly shortened to FUC) series and was just as hilarious as the first book. Shifters of pretty much all animal species abound in this world and FUC is a government agency instituted for their protection - a shifter CIA if you will. Picking up where 'Bunny and the Bear' left off, the evil genius whose been kidnapping predatory shifters for nefarious experiments is still loose and now has his radar trained on Miranda, the saber-toothed bunny heroine from BatB. Now mated to Bear shifter Chase, the two go into hiding while Chase's playbear brother and FUC operative, Mason, and a geeky tech swan princess, Jessie, try and track him down.
Used to women throwing themselves at him, Mason is drawn to Jessie, the one shiftress supposedly immune to his charms and when the villain threatens her safety Mason does everything in his power to keep her safe and convince her his playbear ways are over. Bears are one of my favorite shifter species (prehensile lips baby!) and I thoroughly enjoyed the sexy innuendos Mason employed to woo his reluctant cygnet! Woo her he does and a loving, monogamous husband he does indeed become, but we're left with a cliffhanger of sorts and I, for one, can't wait for the next FUC installment :)

Another wonderful read/listen by Eve Langlais. She never fails to bring humor to my day when I’m listening to her stories. Swan and the Bear picks up where the previous story leaves off. Our hero is the brother of book one’s hero. Mason is less grumpy and more fun-loving than his brother. He is known as a ladies’ man. He has always had fun with this, that is until he meets Jessie.
Jessie is a geek and a swan working among a bunch of mammals at FUC. She is running from her arranged marriage. She is actually a swan princess and her father is trying to marry her to a prince to get a new ally. She is also half Australian black swan.
There is still the evil genius trying to kidnap and run experiments on shifters. FUC is trying to track him down. He is also setting all of his focus on Miranda from Bunny and the Bear, after he sees her shifted form (hehehe). Mason takes it as his goal to protect Jessie after she is almost kidnapped. Jessie wants no part of it.
Jessie is very attracted to the big bear, but she has no intention of being another notch on his bedpost. She doesn’t like the fact that he doesn’t want to let her out of his site. She also doesn’t like how much she is attracted to the bear.
This is another very quick and fun listen by Eve. It is will make you laugh out loud on more than one occasion with lots of fun jokes about prehensile lips and other sexual innuendo. Let’s not forget Mason’s obsession with Yogi Bear and picnic baskets. This series has been a great series to slip between the horror books that I’ve been reading up to Halloween.
Narration
Abby Craden did a great job with narration once again. I love all of her voices for all the different characters. They all seem to fit their personalities. I never question which character is talking. The tone and pace is perfect for me.

Even the temptation hidden in a stolen picnic basket didn’t excite him as much as the thought of touching or tasting her did. Campers everywhere would rejoice.

Since Miranda and Ethan defeated the mastermind behind the abductions and experimentation he's hellbent on revenge. But getting to the crazy bunny and her grumpy bear has proved near impossible. So he sets his sights on the next best thing....Ethan's brother Mason.
As an undercover agent, Mason's mission is to protect the shifter community and by extension the lovely chocolate swan Jessie. She's the tech wiz of the FUC and is in danger since the evil mastermind is suddenly after her. But Jessie doesnt want his type of protection. She's knows he's a ladies man and doesnt do one-night-stands. But after spending quality time with him, her defenses are breaking and realizes this sexy bear is quite irresistible.
What I loved about this was Mason's willingness to convince Jessie that he was serious about her. He constantly chased her, and annoyed her it was quite entertaining! Sometimes I just wanted to slap her though. She just didnt get it and was so insecure...but whatevs! It made for an entertaining and delightful story.
All in all, I thought it was great. Not as good as the last one. Maybe since Jessie was more like a damsel in distress compared to Miranda....who was totally kick ass and hilarious! But it was a good and satisfying read. Can't wait to find out whats next in the FUC world....

It felt wrong to read this on a Sunday

I really liked this book. This is my first novel by Eve Langlais. I would describe it as funny and lighthearted with very hot scenes.
The GOOD:
I really liked both characters. I loved that h identified as black. You don't see that often in PNR/UF though it is becoming more prevalent. She is also a curvier girl so I'm totally putting myself in her place of course :). Mason sounded hot. Like really hot. I liked the banter and interactions that occurred between the two of them and I liked that this book didn't take itself too seriously. It's nice to escape the dark PNR/UF worlds every once in a while. Very little time is spent on the villain of this book and the time spent more so adds to the comic relief than anything else. The story very much focuses on the main couple and loosely the couple from the first book.
The BAD:
I like Eve's writing though some of her words pulled me out of the story until I got used to seeing them. Like the word cleft used to describe Jessie's cha-cha. After a while I just shrugged and kept reading. Overall the book is written despite words like that.
The UGLY:
This comment isn't really ugly. But I would have liked to see the book be a little longer and have gotten to know the h a little more. The reader understands that she only has one living parent but the story never mentions what happened to Jessie's mom, how that affected her growing up, etc. etc. I liked her fine the way she was presented however if I had been given more depth behind her character as well as Mason's I think that would have made it a five star read for me.
I'm VERY much interested in continuing this series and am about to one click the other two books. BTW, I read this book without having read the previous one and didn't feel lost at all. Like I said, the story has little tidbits of plot with an evil mastermind but it more so focuses on the blossoming relationship between the couple.
I recommend to people who are looking for a good laugh and a fairly short, lighthearted read.

I don't know what it is about these books that make me giggle like mad -- no, scratch that. I do know what it is. It's the sassy characters and the witty banter. It the way they do battle against the cracked henchmen and the evil mastermind. I just adore this series to pieces. TO PIECES!
Mason is a hoot. He loves the ladies and he's not afraid to let them know it. Jessie is his opposite. She thinks sex is overrated and she's not impressed with his thinly veiled innuendo. Except, she really is. The more time she spends with him, the more she comes to like him. She just doesn't trust him. It was glorious watching her fall and fall hard. And it was pretty hilarious how she made Mason *work* for her honey.
Miranda and Chase (from book 1) put in an appearance (Mason's abject terror at Miranda's shifted form is AWESOME, btw) and there's plenty of set up for book 3. The squirrelly mastermind is still working toward his final goal and THIS SERIES IS SO FREAKING FUN!
Sexy, sometimes silly, and fully awesome. I'm ready for book 3.

A bit too silly for me...although some things the "Mastermind" kept saying were kind of hilarious.
"Mwah ha ha....achooo; damn allergies"
I didn't really like Jessica as she kept fighting her feelings for Mason. Come on and give the playbear a break. Yep he's literally a bear and she's a swan. In this series, there are shifters of all species. This is kind of cool, especially because the human takes on lots of the animal traits. Mason even has a prehensile upper lip...just like a bear. He puts this to good use too, don't worry.
All in all, a nice bit of fluff but nothing to write home about.

After Miranda and Chase broke up one of the horrible labs of an unknown evil entity, Chase's brother Mason is stuck working in an office. At the FUC offices he meets that computer tech swan Jessie. Sparks fly, lots of resistance on her part etc etc. Fun book, good follow up, glad to see characters again.

This features Jessie (the computer geek from book 1) and Mason (Chase's brother). This evil mastermind from book 1 wasn't killed and is trying to restart the experimentations. They also still want Miranda and she remains a target.
There is snark, suggestive dialogue, hilarity, a little drugging and kidnapping, a little bit of mystery/suspense, and sex (lots of it). A bit light on the plot, but I didn't care. This is want I needed to take my mind off the looming election (and the possible end of the world as we know it, if a certain someone gets re-elected for a 2nd term...or if he loses).
This series thus far has been fun.

Lighthearted read continuing the series with Chase’s brother Mason. I preferred the first couple with Chase being protective and Miranda being a bunny with fangs. This one was pretty much a bear deciding he wants to settle and a swan digging her heels in. First impressions were pretty much Mason is a dick but then it follows Jessie liked it. I don’t like love triangles or unwanted arranged marriages, so wasn’t too into this one. Plenty of violence, sex and two shifters heading for marriage. I liked Eric, I hope he gets someone. I’m looking forward to seeing who Victor ends up with.

I liked Jessie in this book. Jessie and Mason were a alright couple but I didn't connect with them as much as I did Chase and Miranda in the first book. I do like the overall story of this series so far though.

Love Eve's Warnings before her books :) She's SO cute!
Cute story - I loved the idea of Swan Shifters - I've read stories that mentioned the bird shifters - but this is my first time reading about one.
Jessie Cygnclair, FUC agent and head of technical department - also known as The Swan Princess - yes that's right, she's a princess - and her father is not too pleased with her. Jessie is a strong willed woman who speaks her mind - and sometimes her mind doesn't always know what's best.
With her father trying to force a marriage on her in order to bring the Canadian Flock in alliance, and that pesky luscious bear that wont take "no" for an answer - Jessie is about ready to lose her mind!
Mason is a typical Bear Shifter - fun, loving, and very protective of those he cares about (that's why their my favorite species :)
When he sees that luscious ass poking it's way out from under the desk, his first instinct is to slap it - and slap it he did..
Mason is a fun loving guy with a great sense of humor - he plays a hard core Playbear with the ladies and isn't afraid to speak his mind either :) And he knows what he's saying every time :)
Mason is also Chase's brother - although Chase is a head strong and naturally born Grumpy bear , Miranda is there to keep him on his toes - we all remember Miranda - who could forget the ever so perky Were Bunny that stole Chase's heart :)
The story starts off shortly after FUC had invaded the compound of the mastermind's lab - setting free humans, shifters and mutilated species that have gone bad - we also learned that the mastermind himself is still at large - and is aiming straight for Miranda's Were Bunny blood - and Chase by default.
With Mason there to watch over them, nothing can go wrong.. right?
When Miranda comes to the FUC office for a meeting. ducking into the restroom in order to find herself cornered by a Were Boar - Normally that wouldn't concern Miranda - she is after all a Huge Bunny with foot long tusks! But there is only one reason that a shifter can't shift.. and that's what happened to Miranda.
Sensing the dilemma, Jessie storms out of the restroom stall in her full out Swan form and starts honking at the boar.
We all know swans aren't carnivorous, they're not very strong, but they have a mean temper.
meanwhile, Mason feels something is wrong, and follows his feet - which leads him to the restroom where he finds the most beautiful swan up against a disgusting boar -
Shifting into his bear form, the boar didn't have a chance. But all Mason could think of was protecting what was his.
This was a cute story - I loved the battle between Jessie and Mason. She wanted him so badly, and yet she had such a history of let downs, she was so afraid to follow her heart. Being a playbear, she knew her curvy figure wouldn't be enough to last longer than the 60 seconds to pleasure himself with her - So she stuck to her guns and kept shooting him down.
But Mason knew better :)
Looking forward to the next one - I'm not sure what kind of shifter Victor is... I don't think he's a bear - but I'm pretty sure it will be his story next - at least I hope so :)

Book One: Bunny and the Bear
So if you want to protect a large mean and annoying grizzly bear, a Lawyer at that, from an unknown threat...the best choice is to obviously do it without his knowledge because he would just want to control and mess everything up. Fortunately, every one know that all you need to get a grizzly bear to follow your lead is a his honey pot, or in this case, Miranda. Chase's new neighbor Miranda is sexy and he can't think about anything but her and what he want to do with her ever since he laid eyes on her. Seems like she is more focused on torturing him than letting him get his hands on her though. Once the cat is out of the bag though and she saves him with her "bunny", can he accept her being a secret agent?
Book Two: Swan and the Bear
Manwhore of the office Mason has finally fallen hard for a woman, and she just shoots him down and laughs in his face every day. So being a super secret agent isn't all that impressive when the woman you are trying to impress is the computer genius Jessie that keeps the agency functioning. Hiding secrets, well, how about not knowing that she's a princess, much to her dismay. One tiny problem...someone tries to abduct them from the agency, and then really abducts them from Mason's place. Oh, and there is that problem of trying to get Jessie to love him back.
Book Three: Croc and the Fox
Finally!!! The secret liar of the maniac that keep attacking them is found. When Viktor and the other Furry United Coalition members get to the level where the experiment are held, they find people/animals that have been horribly disfigured and mutated from experiments. Even more shocking is the normal looking woman that doesn't seem to remember who she is and has been there so long that just the sight of the open sky terrifies her. Viktor is the biggest strongest warrior she sees and he makes her feel safe, so she is sticking to him...literally. NO matter how much Viktor tries to do the right thing, Renee has to teach Viktor that sometimes a woman has to follow what her heart. And just because she's been a prisoner most of her life doesn't mean that she doesn't know anything, but you have to ask the right questions to get the right answers. By the way...what exactly did they do to her in that lab?
Four out of Five stars for the series.

Once again Eve continues with her great humor and story telling skills in Swan and the Bear. Excitement, fun, surprises, action (both in and out of the bedroom) and a hottie male bear shifter are some of the delights I experienced. It was great to see characters from the last book of the FUC series and to see the FUC agency still holding strong. This is the second book in the FUC series and definitely can be read as a stand alone. But I strongly recommend reading the first in the series so you don't miss out on all of the fun that's to be had! Any paranormal romance reader will have a blast reading Swan and the Bear :)
Jessie is the computer geek at FUC headquarters. It’s an odd situation for her because she is a swan princess, promised to another and wanting absolutely nothing to do with any of the crap that goes along with being the daughter of a king. That’s one of the reasons why she works at FUC headquarters. She enjoys her work very much, that is until one very pushy, sexy, persistent, super sexy (oops, I said that already) bear shifter named Mason shows up and turns her entire world (and heart) inside out. She usually has an easy time of getting rid of the male pests that advance on her. But this big bear is not having any of it!
Mason is a well know play bear and a FUC agent. Recently transferred to a new division and is just going with the flow or at least he’s trying to. He is immediately taken by a sweet behind and an even sweeter scent, he finds himself no longer looking at any other females. Just the one FUC geek that makes his mouth water and his pants get tight. But there are a few things that stand in his way. One of them is the constant rejection he gets from his beautiful swan Jessie.
I love what I felt the book held behind all of the humor and fun. No prejudice, a desire for peace and the sharing of love. All beings should be treated equally and given a chance at love and life. Both Mason and Jessie grew in character and became even more lovable then they were from the start. It's so much fun to watch true opposites attract! I look forward to the next in the series. Bring on the FUC agents ;)

This was pretty good... the most completed work of Eve Langlais's works, in my POV. It didn't leave me wishing for more details, like the other books I'd read from the author thus far. I also felt that despite the shortage of pages of what I usually prefer to read, the book was thorough and nicely detailed. The action, there wasn't much and the mystery of the shifter killer dude or dudette wasn't as prominent and for that, I enjoyed it more. This book was mostly focused on Mason and his swan princess's story. I loved Mason, he was a dirty funny witty guy. His partner was really nicely matched to him.
I'm excited for Victor's story. For a sec there, I contemplated the idea of Victor and the Mastermind, of this whole evil shindig that's rousing everyone from FUC(D) up, as romanitcally involved but no.. that'd be sick and twisted (unless she's got a good reason for experimenting and killing shifters worldwide) and he'd be betraying his pple, ect.. Idk I think that'd be an interesting twist in the long plotine of these short shifter stories. But nvm, there's a new h already. One who ran screaming in terror away from the sun and grass. Maybe she's in cahoots with the villians? Hopefully! I want a serious plotline this time, with betrayal as one of the key elements in the plot.

Book two in the FUC series. These one had a lot of references to Joey from friends, Monty Python, Yogi Bear and Dr Moreau's island; so, if you like a book chock full of pop references...here you go.
Mason was funny, a basic ladies man until he smack Jessie on the booty and his bachelor days are over. He now has to convince Jessie that she's not a bedpost notch conquest and that he really loves her, while Jessie now has to learn how to whole heartedly accept love from someone else, while gaining a family.
Then, we still have the problem of who's stealing the paranormals, the person who needs to perfect their maniacal laughter, eish, it needs work+rehab. At the end, we see Viktor get his partner, but also, the master has snuck into the hen house, and no one is aware. I want to see him revealed, and get his backstory because I think it has something to do with bullying.
So, book 2 done, on to book 3.

I loved learning more about Chase's little brother Mason and about Jessie. I really liked Mason but I loved how Jessie kept him on his toes with all the put-downs at the start. He was very persistant though and won her over in the end! Her father was on my blacklist though. I actually cheered her reluctant fiance when he finally gave her her freedom after hearing an argument between her and her father. To be fair though it was an arranged engagement that neither of them wanted, so I hope Eric finds someone for himself. I also love how Jessie's fathers plan to punish Jessie backfires and actually makes Mason very happy much to the swan king's chargrin! Looking forward to the next in the series.

Mason, Chases (book 1) brother is a total playbear!!! Former special forces of some nature he's now working with FUC. He is wickedly funny, quotes Joey from friends and very proud of his unattached status.
Jessie is the tech geek with more curves than she can handle. She is also a swan princess in hiding!! She may think that Mason is handsome and sexy but there is no way she is going to be a notch on the bearwhores bedpost!!! She shoots him down every chance she gets.
The search for Mastermind continues and there are some lovely scenes with the newly mated Chase and Miranda!!! Poor Mason needs bleach for his eyes and ears!! Fabulously funny, hot nekkid scenes and a villian that just won't die!!!!!

Eve Langlais is one of my most favorite authors and her books are always interesting and funny to me even when I read the synopsis and doubt I will like it since they stray from my usual pattern of stories I like I end up loving it XD
- I loved this series from the first book it was really adorable and funny and this book is no different, and the combination of animals is kinda funny who would imagine a bear with a swan XD
- I liked that the hero was the cocky arrogant type and how funny he made things especially when they were with her dad how he infuriated him and stuff like that XD
- I liked the progress in the story how they advanced even with the progress of the love story

I've got to say I loved Mason as soon as he appeared in first book. He's total opposite to chase. Very flirty and laid back but very secretive. You love or hate mason. He's a larger than life smooth character. Really liked how u get to see a totally different side to him with some really great twist in book.
From start Mason liked Jessie, so much so he camped out in her office. From word go there was serious attraction but Jessie constantly denied it most of this book. We also got more of Miranda and Chase which is hilarious. Absolutely loved this book. Looking forward to Viktor's HEA even though he isn't.

The bear slut Mason finds his undercover blown and gets assigned to desk duty, he´s not complaining because now he gets the chance to spend more time with the tech geek Jessie. She´s a black swan, and a princess, with a dad threatening her with an arranged marriage, she just doesn´t think there´s time for a romp in the hay with the bear.
At the same time the old threat is back, for both the bear brothers and their friends and family.
A fun, quick read, heroes and heroines with potty mouths and smutty fluff, and i just can´t stop the visual of the bear with his lips capable of more than one thing.

This was the funniest paranormal/uf book between a bear shifter, Mason and a swan shifter princess, Jessie. Yes I said a swan! Now take in mind that Jessie is promised to someone else to marry but flirty Mason wants what he wants and he want Jessie. Will the dominant Mason get what he wants in "Swan and the Bear?"
It suspenseful, daring and so funny! I recommend this book to readers who like to see diversity in their storylines and even more comedic relief/ sarcastic remarks to keep the pages turning faster!

Another fun Langlais novel, this one featuring Mason, the playbear younger brother from the first book. He's an undercover agent who's blown his cover on the last FUC mission, so he's assigned to headquarters and meets Jessie, a swan princess with a racist daddy swan king and an aversion to men. Langlais employs her typical humor, fun antics, and see-saw, school yard dialogue (did not...did too...did not...make me...) that's a lot of fun to read.

I gave this series another chance, but I was disappointed. I wanted something similar to Shelly Laurenston's Magnus Pack and Pride series. But it wasn't.
Mason is a lady man and Jessie is a swan princess. And I do not know what more to saw.
