I Hope the rest of the series is better
So by the time we get halfway through the book and I know he is golden. And he has basically wind blown hair. That’s what I know.

I liked this one. It was fairly short and some of the coincidences were a little too convenient to make it a five, but for enjoyment alone, it was a four. There were a few things that didn't make sense, mostly about communication (how are you going to whisper and stay silent while hiding when you are using a communicator to translate?).
I will be reading the next one, though.

Xzion is such a wild, fascinating ride! Charmaine Ross drops you straight into a world full of unique creatures, layered cultures, and dangers that kept me turning pages way past when I should have been asleep. The world-building is rich without ever feeling heavy, and the tension stays high in all the best ways.
I really enjoyed the progression of the story, especially the ending — it wrapped up in a way that felt satisfying yet still made my imagination wander. And honestly… if beings like these ever do show up on Earth, I’m crossing my fingers they’re the friendly type. Preferably hot, respectful, and fully into interstellar diplomacy.

Chi sono io per non leggere storie su alieni sexy? Questo libro, primo di quattro, ci fa conoscere gli Hexonian, le cui compagne, per qualche motivo, vengono rapite in mezzo al deserto dalla razza “rettile”, No, non voglio dire rettiliana, ma siamo lì.
Questi esseri hanno tutta l’intenzione di assoggettare l’intera razza umana per renderla schiava e senza volontà alcuna, per i loro scopi.
La protagonista è Mia, una fotografa che doveva fare un servizio nel deserto ma che viene rapita dai Rettili e salvata da Xzion T’mani, pilota del consiglio Interspecifico che protegge gli universi conosciuti.
Nella fuga, i due si troveranno soli in una grotta e impareranno a conoscersi e, ovviamente, sentiranno l’attrazione l’uno verso l’altra.
Come primo libro mi sarei aspettata un pelino di più sugli alieni in questione, su come era organizzato il Consiglio e tutto il resto, invece questo viene relegato in due righe. Ecco, una cosa che non mi piace: se scrivete sci-fi, date un buon world building, soprattutto se si parla di altre razze extraterrestri e delle loro società.
Che posso dire su Xzion? Dato che noi umani abbiamo una sfiga assurda per quanto riguarda gli alieni che vengono da noi, ovviamente ci becchiamo sempre i più brutti, quelli che ci vogliono rendere schiavi, sempre il mainagioia forever! Mai, e dico mai che arrivino che so, strafighi che farebbero di tutto per te, MAI! Come questi che sono alti, hanno la pelle dorata e occhi spettacolari, capelli folti e boni, boni boni. Ecco perché dico mainagioia!
Le donne di queste serie sono sempre forti, o comunque con gli attributi, che in qualche modo si ritrovano malauguratamente nel bel mezzo dei casini, vittime dei Rettili, e poi prendono una sonora sbandata per il protagonista maschile.
Libro veloce che leggete in un pomeriggio, consigliato se volete evadere per quelle due ore e sognare di trovare anche voi un alieno figo che vi porti via.

This was a novella with quite a few typos. I did not care for the "bad aliens" in the story. They were reptilian and just too creepy. The "good aliens" were almost exactly like humans, except with golden skin that sparkled like tiny diamonds in sunlight. The heroine was stolen from earth by the bad aliens. The same thing happens to the heroine in the next book. I don't feel compelled to read the next book in the series. I'll read some other reviews about it and see what they have to say to change my mind.

The Chase is on
Right in front of me a space craft is shooting in to space from an unnamed planet . suddenly a worm hole opens ahead of it and not by accident . I have to hurry or I'll lose it I gear up to materialize into the space craft so I won't get caught , suddenly I hear a terrified scream . I rush into the lab and see these horrible lizard aliens as they seem to torture this female . I can't think ahead but jump them before they kill her I cut her loose and run out carrying her to save her . I look down and knew she was special to my life .

Xzion stumbles upon a huge illegal operation in the works and decides to follow them through a collapsing wormhole to find out just exactly what is going on. Little does he know that is just the beginning of the adventure for him. This is much bigger than just a random abduction. Will he be able to get himself out of this situation, or will he fall victim, too?
The world building and relationship building in this book were well thought out. We understand the thought processes behind why they are doing the things they do. I did feel that the ending was a bit rushed, There could have been a bit of conflict with the "higher-ups" or something to get his dander up, but all in all I really enjoyed this book.

Nothing to see here
No character connection.
This plot idea has been done and redone by many qualified writers.
A first attempt at a novel is hard... But brow beating your reader is annoying. I felt like I was constantly being told. The main event was reiterated over and over. And in the very last chapter arrives The writer's attempt of describing foreplay ending in consensual love making.
Thank goodness this book was free or else I would have very hard feelings against it.

Het werd eens tijd om wat te doen aan de vier boeken die ik dit jaar nog moest lezen voor mijn A tot Z reading challenge. Daarom op amazon gezocht naar gratis boeken met een X en dit boek kwam onder andere als optie langs. Of boek, het is meer een novelle. En intro naar een serie over aliens. Het is te merken dat het een novelle is, het laatste stuk gaat ineens erg snel en had best meer details en tussenstukken mogen hebben om het net iets beter te maken.
Nu is het wel een aardige alien novelle, er had meer in gezeten.

fast burn but cute
This was a fairly typical insta-love style storyline, with aliens, abduction, and amazing details. A few typos and rushed plot, with short, fast chapters, but a really scary “bad guy” that does create a serious impact and a continuation as well as help push the couple toward each other and make them find ways they fit and work. A good, quick read that holds up despite the rushed line and minor editing misses.

Xzion, a golden skinned alien is a well trained interspecies council employee and a bit of an adventurer. He is travelling through space in his Star Jet that is incredibly advanced. He noticed something strange and off so follows another alien ship onto uncharted space and a found new planet. Here, he is in time to rescue a kidnapped from earth human, Mia, about to be dissected without anaesthesia. Very scary back story with a pleasing and exciting but not easily attained love story.

I love a good sci-fi romance, and Xzion delivered with solid world-building and thoughtful relationship development. The characters' actions made sense, and their bond felt genuine. However, I prefer full-length novels, and this one felt a bit too fast-paced for me. The ending was a little rushed—I would’ve loved more tension with the “higher-ups” or an extended cave stay to deepen their connection. Still, it was an enjoyable and engaging read overall.

Great Start for a New Series
Loved It! The story was was well written and kept your attention from beginning to end. It has plenty of action, adventure, drama, kidnapping, love, and steamy hot romance with awesome characters? A must buy and so ready to read the next book in the series.

Xzion
Xzion was gliding around not doing much when he encountered a new ship taking off from Earth 🌎. He followed to see why they were running and finds a human female that needs help. Together they learn that the aliens 👽 are doing great evil and they must find a way to stop them. Now if only they could find that way.

Because this was a novella there was not a ton of world building. The idea of an Interspecies Council ensuring the safety of beings across the universe was interesting, and the villains in the book were definitely evil, but you will have more questions than answers.

Quick-paced Action-packed
This story of alien abduction and alien rescue hits all the high notes and left me waiting even more. I really enjoyed Mia and Xzion’s story - both were such strong protector characters, and their simmering chemistry was just oh so good. A great quick read with plenty of action and heat.

Romance is everywhere.
Mis is watching the night sky when she notices something odd. The next thing she knows is being strapped to a table, when a different alien rescues her and they end up on the planet below.

2021 is being good to me, book-wise that is. Every single one I chose was a killer romance in its own merits — this one couldn't be different.
We have bad aliens, good and handsome aliens, an accomplished human woman, and sci-fi romance at its best. What more could I ask for?
I loved Xzion! He was such a good character, really sweet, and cared about Mia a lot. I want to keep reading the series and find out what the Reptilians are up to.
I know that the next book in the series is set 10 years in the future. I hope it is as good as this one! Also, I hope to see some Xzion and Mia there too. Fingers crossed!

Pure Evil
A very interesting story with some really evil aliens. I loved the romance between Xzion and “his female” but was really interested in whatever the heck the reptilians had in mind. This is definitely a series I will follow.

Decent story
The story is good enough, but it needs editing. The writing is a bit simple as well. However, the story itself was fun. Mia is snatched by crocodile aliens and Xzion comes to her rescue. There are some icky parts in here, but the steam is great.

Loved Mia!
I loved the chemistry between Mia and Xzion. She was abducted and he rescued her. Not understanding him, she tried to run from him.
They tried to deny the attraction between them.
Thank you Ms. Ross for a great start to this series.

This was an intro to a new series for me. I had another series recommended to me but it was recommended to start the journey here. It was pretty good quick read and will be interesting to see what is next.

I enjoyed reading this book, the interaction and chemistry between Mia and Xzion is wonderful. The storyline is entertaining and filled with action and adventure. I can't wait for more from this author. I received this book 📚, as a FREE copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
