This book shifts gears to the serious present and lingers on the rituals surrounding life and death, making us aware, even it employs some social commentary to show us the times we are living in. But it remains an engaging read till the end.
What pulls it through, however, are the 12 short stories, different from each other, compressing all the colours and shades and each story arrests attention every time it focuses on the screen.
The book is filled with many a heartwarming moments that's sure to bring a lump to your throat. The scene and setting and many of its moods and moments will instantly remind you of your own early days of being carefree even when we were pressured about our works and relationships.
The choice of the words and emotions, all the characters carried, are so profound, powerful and natural. On the other hand, the book's form and content compliment each other, which is not loud but has a touch of practicality and deep rooted emotions.

What is an ordinary thing in your routine that makes you very happy?
Extra Ordinary by Sailee Tiwari is a collection of 12 comely short stories that focus on a variety of themes. Be it love, friendship, loss, ambition, nostalgia, hope, or a thing as simple as tea, this book has it all. What struck me was how simple the stories are, in their structure and flavour, and yet it gave me some inexplicable joy to read them.
Each story had a different charm of its own. And most of them ended on a poetic note. They spoke of unadulterated love in many forms, they narrated tales of strangers with opinions on different extremes of the spectrum. They also tell about the loss of a loved one and the warmth of acceptance. They warm your heart just like a cup of tea does and bring you closer to truths we conveniently ignore. Like how the innocence of poverty is something we would simply overlook.
With lucid writing and beautiful expressions, Extra Ordinary would help one in getting out of a reading slump. It might also comfort someone who is simply feeling low. Although each story was lovely, I did feel that some things were abrupt in the storytelling. A few things here and there remained hastily executed or incomplete for me. I felt a certain depth or emotional connection missing. Barring this, this collection would prove to be a good read for beginners.

The stories are short, but the writers are successful in trying to keep readers connected to the book emotionally.
The book is not big enough, I finished it in two sittings, and the reason why once I started reading it, I couldn't put it back without reading it all.
All stories are completely different from each other, and written on different themes.
All 12 stories have lovely characters, all are well developed and portrayed.
It's a bit difficult to call a single-story favorite because I liked all the stories in the book.

I began reading this book as a break from reading long stories and novels. Maybe commitment issues? Nonetheless, I paused reading the books that I was already reading and took this one up. It is a series of short stories which talk about a variety of relationships- from grandmother, friend, lover to even tea! I loved how different the stories and diverse the characters were.
In addition to this, there is a lot of space given to the thoughts of the characters. Whatever goes on in their minds, in complex situations. Each story talks about the intricacies of human nature and the nuances of relationships. In this respect, some of the poems are in first person while the others are in third person. The author has experimented a lot here.
Except a few, each story ends with a brief message as a bit of an epilogue or maybe an after thought to it. This left me with something to mull over after finishing that particular story. While the book itself is a quick read, it still took me 3 weeks to finish it. This was since, while reading it- a lot was going on around me. It is nonetheless an immersive read and hard to put down.
The language was very refined and easy to read, my favourite was the ‘Friends Forever’ since it rang very close to me. It is a poignant story of a profound loss and finding the joy in what you still have amidst it. In this story, it is the joy of a wonderful daughter and a close friend. Another story, ‘Uncertainties’ talks of losing someone dear but is also moving in the way that it describes the harrowing feeling of loneliness and the void that the it creates.

Really, Extraordinary.
Twelve beautiful and actual stories, In some situations, you feel yourself in these stories. All stories look real, heart touching and show us different circumstances of life. Circumstances with family, elders, friends, love, tea and sometimes a stranger. I enjoyed it a lot.

This beautiful book that you see laying across my bed which is of course a bit messy at this moment with books all over the blankets, is a book full of short tales.
This collection of beautiful short stories were thoroughly enjoyed by me.
Being a short story enthusiast, I find short stories quite entertaining as only with in few pages they paint another world infront of you.
Brief stories are again great for busy people who donot get a lot of time but would like to indulge into some fictional amusement.
Coming back to these 12 stories in this book, they are sprinkled with myriads of emotions. The language is simple but neither too ornate nor too bland.
Each one is pivoted around some very relatable characters living mundane lives but walking life paths full of extraordinary situations. And that is how the author sends deeper life lessons through them.
I loved reading The Innocent thief and the story of the evergreen palm tree amoung many other stories.
Again they talk about beautiful emotions like kindness, love, hope, compassion, forgiveness and the beautiful things in life which makes it worth living for.
I will recommend this heart warming book to all short story enthusiasts.

The Book Extraordinary is a collection of twelve extraordinary short stories that covers multiple layers of human emotion and its manifestation. The very first story “the evergreen Palm trees” , written in first person narrative is mingled with some unforgettable memories of the narrator. It conveys the idea of having desire to pave the path. Readers get to read one by one impressive stories written with different tone and treatment of human emotions which touch the reading instinct. Story like Friends Forever, An innocent thief, uncertainty and so on provides a worth reading experience of realism.
The treatment of theme in the stories is well crafted that not let you to leave any story unread. The most striking part is that every story ends with a perfect self conveyed quotation in rhyming style that conveys philosophical pursuit of the particular story. Overall it is a perfect read!

Extra Ordinary is a collection of 12 short stories, written by Sailee Tiwari.
Each story has some element of meaningfulness to it, with a part left unturned to bestow it a vibe of ´onto you´. The plots are easy breezy and generalised to connect better with the readers. I loved the way stories are more of like an incident, that´s it, not stretching it too far, making it relatable and leaving a sense of quest in you with every ending. The stories will give you a sense of amazement.
Every single story in this book ends but doesn´t end, as the stories are the one`s that you may have felt happening or seen it happening. Sailee has a smooth style of writing, with a nice blend of awespire and smile, it will keep you in suspense.
Ecstacy and freedom are the major emotions of almost all the stories. With deep and mesmerising feelings, the words do have immense power to make you thrilled with each end.

The writing style had an ethereal quality to it with colorful descriptions of places and emotions and characters. All stories were indeed carefully crafted with utmost care and had nostalgia embedded in them. I liked the inspirational and upbeat messages of the stories regarding companionship, memories, friendship and love which makes for a light relaxing read any day for all kinds of readers. The book may be titled 'Extraordinary' but what makes it live up to its title is the selection of ordinary lives to ponder on and how they transform into stories to be inspired by. The author must be appreciated for bringing different flavors for the readers to savor in form of 12 memorable tales!

I got so engrossed in reading different chapters of this book. Every situation is artistically described which gives the feel of being present to witness the story. All the creativity of expressing thoughts and positive vibes is commendable. Each chapter is a beautiful message in itself. My favorite chapter is 'Tea is survival'. Good work.

The captivating title itself is the reason why this book is amazing. Comprising of 12 short chapters, it is an inimitable piece of work. The chapters have the right amount of romance, hope, destiny, outlook towards life, chasing dreams with dollops of reality. It has interesting mix of fact and fiction. Each chapter will overwhelm your senses. The narration is intelligible. The author's writing style is amazing. It is highly recommended.

Extra Ordinary, by Sailee Tiwari, is a book that I will love to recommend to all fond of short story collections. Well, the book is a collection of beautiful 12 short stories which represent a plethora of themes. The stories here representing the essence of love, the fragrance of friendship, the pain of loss, the urge to achieve ambition, a nostalgia feel, the ray of hope, and even a story with a topic as simple as tea.
This book offers you all, and that what is the USP of this book. I was aware the author is an awardee winner, and after reading this book, I can say yes, she is a well-deserved winner. What I liked about this book is the author's creative eye to make simple facts of life into meaningful stories. The style of writing, narrations, and the presentation of stories deliver a feeling of joy and satisfaction from reading them. Striking stories
This book is a collection of 12 short stories. All the stories emphasise different extents. Love, loneliness, help, poverty, friendship, etc., subsist in these stories.
This collection of short stories has indicated that how the Usual Life scenarios become striking stories? Most of the stories make you giggle, mourn and goosebumps.
I have impressed by the way of the story moves. Casual stories end with striking memories and feelings. As with the name of the book, all the stories have an extraordinary concept.

This book is a collection of twelve short stories from every genre, uniqueness dripping from all. Some stories are left to the imagination of the readers, while some have beautiful and satisfying endings.

As I’ve mentioned earlier, I’m a short story enthusiast, I always find short stories very entertaining for quick & short reads; as they beautifully portray a colourful world in few pages.

These stories are built upon themes like Regret, Promise, Trust, Dark truth, Passion, Love, Hope, Destiny and so on. While some stories (strangers to friends to strangers to…?) will make your blood, some (Tea is survival) will make you blush. While some (passion is purpose) will encourage you to follow your passion, some (an innocent thief) will make you cry. But at the end, each of them will leave you with a void. And that is how the author sends deeper life lessons through them.

I felt some stories a little haphazard and ended abruptly. This book wants to be a commentary on many things, sometimes all at once, but a few of it doesn't lands as well as it should have.

The book is a collection of twelve short stories. It is not a complete love story collection but there are stories related to love, career, happiness, friendship, sorrow yet with a good ending.
Each story is based on different lives, stories of men, women, losing people, friendship, single parent, career-related and a lot more. So, its a complete package of stories from different worlds.
At the end of most of the stories, there are phrases explaining the gist of the story and all are beautifully written. It really adds charm to each story.
There is a story related to how poverty could lead to wrong steps like stealing, there is a story for tea lovers and there are a lot of other stories that you will really enjoy. My favourite story was related to a librarian. It is about the life of a librarian like helping others and also about his family issues. It really brought a smile to my face.
Most of the stories were really good but some stories were not that connecting for me.
The writing style is simple and it is more intellectual and there are not many dialogues but defines the exact state of mind of a character of the story. Due to simplicity, children can also read and enjoy the book. Its a book for all age groups. In addition, the book quality is really nice.
In conclusion, if you love short story collection with stories from the lives of different people who are not related to each other. Then you should definitely check this book.

'Extra Ordinary' is a book comprising of short tales from the lives of regular people to showcase the extraordinary ventures they face in their day-to-day lives. This book is written in lucid language following intricate and detailed descriptions and the brief stories focuses on positive emotions and an abundance of traits like compassion, kindness, inclination towards doing good and forgiveness among a multitude of others. 'Journey to dreams' and 'The evergreen palm trees' are my most favorites. Elucidation of the bonding between a father and daughter, the insight on how life goes on even after we reach our saturation point and the strength of hope are beautifully scripted in this undertaking. Needless to say, this book is one ornate with many such references and hope, and of dreams and bountiful qualities. The grammar is smooth and the narration throughout the stories is deftly put. The solo quotes by the end of every chapter is thought-provoking and insightful. This book immortalises the fact that life is beautiful even though it might seem to be a little overtaking at times. The book short-sights glimpses from our mundane routines and epitomises the beauty it contains alongwith the overlooked factors that brings joy to it. One of the best curated selection of short stories, this book is not only a swift read but also one which makes the reader feel the utmost of their emotional lodgings.

"Extra Ordinary" by Sailee Tiwari. It was at a time when I used to read short stories too vigorously but then to explore other genres, I haven't been able to read as many short stories or Anthologies as I used to. But what made me pick this book up when I got kind of bored with the genre or, to be precise, it felt like a routine genre? The cover page and the title of the book attracted me so much to such an extent that I completed reading this book within one sitting. No, this not a thick-ass book but a short and lovely one that is wholly bounded with a sense of writing style in it. This book is a compilation of 12 short stories that are so beautiful and heart-touching to read. These 12 short stories take us through different characters and their journey of extraordinary moments. This book is about kindness, compassion, love, generosity. This book has many emotions to feel and connect to all of them were heartwarming. The characters in the horror stories were well developed within a short period as the short stories are quick and crisp, but because I enjoyed the writing style, I felt like they should be a bit long as I can sit back and enjoy them.

An anthology with 12 short stories, this book is exactly as the title suggests : Extremely ordinary.
Every story is completely different in terms of the characterization, the theme around which it revolves and the setting. Sadly, none of the stories were successful in creating an emotional connect with the characters. They felt bland, they stories felt too simplistic, and while they were written really well, they lacked the emotional depth required for a story to be captivating. I kept hoping for more from every story, and I was disappointed at every turn.
The only positive thing I found about the book was that the stories were quite relatable, specially for someone from an Indian Household. The writing style was smooth and fluid, and hence an extremely quick read for me.
It is decent enough for a reading slump, but I won't go as far as to recommend it.

Extra Ordinary by Sailee Tiwari is a collection of 12 short stories. I liked all the stories in the collection. They are based on a various themes that play around a human’s life. Though the collection is random with characters and backdrop, however, the core theme of the book is to seek the factor of extraordinary in their lives.
The collection paints tales of grim reality and destiny and love and hope to everything that an individual could think of. The collection is contemporary and covers mostly issues that are prevalent in our societies. My favourite story in the book is about that boy who does thieving to attend a school. Even other stories are way good and grand in their essence.
The author has done justice to its characters by assigning them some flawed traits and frail human values. This makes the book sound credible with good stories. I finished reading it in two nights and after that I took time to reflect upon the events that sounded related to my life. Overall, a highly readable collection!

This book has an amazing collection of 12 short, or we can say mind-blowing, stories collection. Every story has a unique and different story line.
After a tedious reading of Fiction Novels, this book was refreshing piece for me. Every story depicts a real like Grandmother Love, Chai Lover, Child Lover.
So If you are searching for a refreshment like tea break after tedious work then go for this Lovely collection.
I'm giving 4 ratings to this book for Author's beautiful work and deducting 1 point because in this book I found some spelling errors and also some sentence errors. Apart from some errors the motives and meaning of every story is crystal clear.
