What happens when the one woman you crave turns out to be your wife's daughter?
“If you don’t let me go—“ “What?” He cut off my protest. “You’ll do what, Lolita? If I thought for a moment you really didn’t want me, I’d let you go, but I think I know what you really want and since you’re about to become a lawyer, I’ll speak in your language. You want plausible deniability. You want me to steal the pussy from you so you can have what you want tonight, then you can get up in the morning and convince yourself you didn’t want it. That you did nothing wrong. Ok, baby. Close your eyes and enjoy this dick. You can say I made you do it. If that assuages your guilt."

🔥🔥🔥🤯 ohmgeeeee this here book! Talk about not what I expected!!! All I can say is this author WROTE the heck out of this story. The right amount of drama, chemistry, and love! The synopsis had me side-eyeing the characters before even reading but what actually went down in this book … whew! Read and get ready to fall in love with Jackson and Lolita… first time reading this author and I’ll be back 👏🏾👏🏾🙌🏾😍
Hot and a little forbidden, and I liked it--a lot--because this author made me forget the cheating, not really cheating aspect of the story. The reason for the four stars--it ended too abruptly and I felt a bit cheated out of a more satisfactory ending. I hope to hear from this couple again. Recommended: Read!
I read this book earlier this month and forgot to leave a review. SMH.
This one is short. A really quick read but full of high steam and despite being short, it's centered with a delicious and forbidden plot. The story was juicy and meaty and really, really hot with OTT J/P hero.
This story didn't go as I originally expected after reading the synopsis... But it was REALLY good! Lolita and Jackson were something different, I can't quite explain their love story. We're not even gonna mention Lolita's mother, some things are better left unsaid! This book shocked me with every page, I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Jackson and Lolita’s relationship was sacrilegious yet satisfying.
Shantel Davis is a spectacular writer to make me overlook themes in romance novels I would not only avoid but rate poorly. Please be warned that this novel deals with topics such as cheating, incest (step-dad), questionable consent, sexual manipulation, drug and alcohol addiction, and more.
The storyline was original. I was glued to the book waiting to read how the plot would develop. Truly a fascinating story. The epilogue is what earned this book it’s 5 stars. It is well deserved.
It might be wrong of me but I don’t fault anything Lolita did when it came to her relationship with Jackson. With a mother like Tina who needs any enemies. Lolita didn’t deserve the way Tina treated her, her whole life but in the end Tina, Jose, and the lawyer all got what they deserved.
Another very hot read from Shantel Davis. Lolita has agreed to live with her estranged mother who abandoned her as a child for 30 days in order to collect and split a $60,000 inheritance from her grandmother (her mom's mother). Her mother un-expectantly brings along her estranged husband, Jackson, and immediate sparks fly between him and Lolita. It was basically a love and first sight situation that Lolita tried desperately to run from but Jackson would not allow it. They engage in a very steamy and taboo affair. Meanwhile, her estranged mother and Jackson are really separated and in the middle of divorce and struggle to get through the next 30 days under one roof (one of Jackson's homes). We get a visit from Nova and DeMarco in this book too! It's good, I enjoyed it. Read it!
This book was something out a movie. I went thru alot of emotions about Jackson and most of the book I didn't like him being so stalkerish and borderline abusive, but then it all made sense with who he was. It took alot for Lolita to let go and give in to her love for him and she ended being the ride or die he needed.
Made for TV...THIS story was crazy as heck! I mean really????? The plot was good and the twist made it better. Lolita didn't stand a chance against Jackson or Tina. The HOT scenes was good , editing errors kept it from been five stars. Don't judge by the synopsis its worth the read.
I don’t know how I found Shantel Davis, but I’m so glad I did. This book was everything and I’m floored. Taboo, hot, sad, intense and spine tingling - words can’t describe how amazing this book is. Get it, just click the button and don’t ask questions- you’ll be so glad you did. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.
Y’all this Book is not for the faint of heart!! Use your fight or flight with this one!! Shantel Davis I spent all day reading this!! I absolutely loved it!! I can’t wait for your next book drop!! Girl you got it all in your books from well detailed homes to the ratchet Love-making we all passionately love. Keep doing your thang Boo!! Ma needs a new book by summertime plz 😂😂🥰🥰
I must admit the description had me a little Andy about reading but this was such a good story. I absolutely loved Jackson aggression and all. I know it was a short read but there is so much I would have loved to have seen. Nova and Lolita meeting and becoming close. Lolita admitting her feelings to Jackson. Tina begging. But it was still a good story. Great story actually
Her mother left her to be raised by her grandmother, she later hears from her mother after her grandmother's death about an inheritance. She has to live Sith her mother for 30 days before her payday. Those 30 days changed her life! She met and fell in love with Jackson, her mother's soon to be ex-husband. He had to have her and their love affair began. Her mother treated her like an enemy ,will they survive each other to get the inheritance?
Jackson and Lolita are breathtaking. Lolita is young but she's smart with tough skin and a plan. I know that mothers exist in the world that Ms. Davis speaks of in her books. Ms. Davis puts these mothers front and center. Informing the world that all mothers are not perfect Joan Cleavers. Lolita is raised to be a good woman, by her grandmother. Jackson tests everything that her grandmother taught her: Her conscience and her beliefs in right and wrong. I love that Lolita challenges Jackson, Tina, and life till the end. Jackson is Jackson is Aimal. I wasn't a fan of the name Aimal but I'm sure Ms. Davis has a story behind choosing that name. Nor was a fan of the name Lolita either. Jackson is a distinguished gentleman hiding a thug. He's blunt, direct, aggressive, and straightforward. He's possessive and obsessive and sexy. And DARK. and I like him. I think I might love him. Tina needed to be killed or maimed early on in the story. She is the reason why sterilization should be the law. Not every woman needs to be a mother and Tina is an example of that type of woman. She cared about no one and nothing but herself. Then there are twists in the story that I did not see coming. I was like... WTH! OMG! I didn't see it! Fellow readers, I'll start a go fund me for Ms. Davis's therapy. I wonder after each reading how she comes up with these twisted stories. All I'm saying is keep doing what you're doing...
Ms. Davis is the kind of author where you are in the middle of another book and you happen to see she has a new release you stop reading the current book and immediately start reading hers. I love her work. The book was good. There were a couple of grammatical errors that were annoying but didn't deter me. Which was why I gave First Sight a 4 stars rating. No one does traumatic like Ms. Davis. The book was engaging. Well written characters. Jackson and Lolita were sexy. Tina was a real mess and a sneaky tramp. Just a yuck mother. The unexpected ending or rather how everything came together at the end was so Shantel. I was like what the? Tina was a silly woman you hear me? The evil she was willing to do to get rid of her own daughter. Just yucky. Did I miss why she turned out that way. Just a selfish woman. It was an entertaining story for a rainy Saturday morning. Thanks again Ms. Davis.
Ms. Davis always pushes the envelope in the best way possible. When Lolita comes to stay with her estranged mother and her mother’s husband, Jackson, she doesn’t know she walking into a mine field of intrigue and danger. Jackson and her mother are separated and he has filed for divorce…..and from the moment he sees Lolita, Jackson is head over heels. Lolita and her mother have to live together for thirty days in order to inherit. They are all in the same house in a big steamy mess! One of the best parts of this amazing story was getting to read about DeMarco again!
Don't let the description fool you about Step dad and daughter its not like that at all. I almost didn't read this book because of it myself but I'm glad I looked at other reviews before I wrote it off. Jackson might technically be her step dad but he never met or knew about Lolita who is 24 and she also didn't know Jackson was married but separated from her estranged mother until she met him.
I was starting this book with caution as I was expecting it to be a taboo read that would make me cringe but this was really an enjoyable, hot AF tethering on the taboo side kinda story. I loved Aimal aka Jackson's "possessive-ness" though it was a little bit stalker-ish.
With how short it was, I thought it was just gonna be a erotic for bidden Romance, but it has really good plot line, even though the ending felt very rushed.
I must say I did like Jackson even though he was very toxic I just like a Toxic man!!
Loved it a lot but thought the ending fell a bit short maybe I'm just greedy and needed more for closure. This is the only reason why I didn't give it a five.
I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed Jackson and lolitas dynamic. Although I loved the book and the story was right up my alley, the book needs more editing for typos and stuff.
Ohhhh…. was this deliciously sexy, and messy as hell! 😂 I am a sucker for some taboo, and this one was whew chile! 🔥 Who would have thought Jackson had it in him? It was like he flipped the whole script! Man just didn't comprehend the word no, and pushed until he got what he wanted! Loved Lolita's sass, determination and independence, but she was no match for this man right here! He just broke her all the way down, and bending to his will. She initially felt bad about their connection through her "mother", but that quickly went out of the window. 😂 Tina was just an evil 🤬 ! I could not believe the lengths that she would go for a damn dollar! Blew. My. Mind!! 🤯 I was here for all the chaos, and this one gave me huge dose! Great read! 👍👍👍
3.5 Jackson was so intense it was almost unbelievable. It was a totally messed up situation all around concerning Jackson, Lolita, and Tina. However, I secretly loved Lolita’s character and am glad she seemed to get her HEA.
Needs editing badly. Characters are supposed to be older and educated yet speak like high schooler's. Plot is weak. Hero's personality was bipolar without being having a disorder. Sex was the only good part of the story.
