Karen Malley writes Christian fiction with heart, humor, and just enough plot twists to keep you guessing. But don’t worry—she promises a happy ending. By day, she’s a scientist solving real-world problems; on weekends she writes about fictional ones. When she’s not dreaming up new ways to make her characters’ lives interesting, Karen enjoys hiking, reading, and baking things that miraculously don’t turn into science experiments.
A proud left-hander, Karen lives in Pennsylvania with her amazing husband and two sons, all of whom tolerate her habit of narrating life as if it were a novel. A lover of Jesus, peanut butter, and board game nights, Karen believes the best stories are the ones full of hope, faith, and happily-ever-afters.
Karen loves to hear from her readers. You can connect with her on her website: www.KarenMalley.com, where you can sign up for her free weekly short stories! If you'd like to give her writing a try, she has two free books available on her website.
Anne and Robert Baker, brother and sister. Robert went away to college and his brother's roommate is Mark. Upon meeting Mark Anne knew he was the one. She had told her dad at the age of 9 that she was going to marry someone just like him, a pastor and that is what Mark was studying to be. She started corresponding with Mark on a website for his bible study group using the initials SS --short for Sunshine, that is what her dad called her. They started talking back and forth with her asking bible questions and soon Mark gave her his personal email and they corresponded daily. When she graduated high school and Robert went back to college for his senior year, she went with him to start her freshman year. She started attending Mark's bible study group. Then they talked in person for hours. Mark and Robert got to talking and Mark realized that he loved SS, which is Anne, but he does not know it. Now that Anne is at college he is starting to fall for Anne. Finally, Mark sent an email to SS explaining that he had feelings for her, but he was starting to fall Anne too and asked her could they finally meet. Mark had a date with Anne early in the day to pack food at church for the needy and then they went for lunch. Later he had planned on meeting SS to talk. He agreed that seeing that Anne was SS was a great surprise and they were both looking toward the future.
Thank you, Karen Malley, for letting me read this really good book, it left a big smile on my face. Booksirens supplied the book for me so thank you for your help Booksirens.
Finding Sunshine (A Pine Springs Prequel) was the second book by Karen Malley that I’ve read, Following The Sparrows was the first. I’ve read many Christian books since coming to the Lord a few days after my 34th birthday in 1977, but I’m relatively new to reading Christian fiction. I’ve always been an action/thriller fan, but Karen Malley has made me a Christian fiction fan as well. If I have anything negative about Finding Sunshine, it’s just that it ends too quickly. At 24 pages it’s really a short story, but it’s a masterpiece of storytelling, none-the-less. This story follows the pattern girl meets boy-girl gets boy format, but in a wholesome Christian way. Great story. A story that I will read again as time passes.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It spoke to my heart in so many ways. The book is a story about two college students meeting and beginning to get to know each other. She did not realize that he wrote a Bible Study she followed online and he had no idea that she was the sister of one of his friends who was in his dorm and participated in some of the same activities. It is funny how paths can cross and draw two individuals together.
I do not know how things will turn out but I look forward to more Bible Studies with these people.
This is a cute wholesome story. Well written boy meets girl, clean romance. Anne meets her ‘one’ and goes all out to get to know him . Mark doesn’t know who SS is on his bible study group but he’s liking her mind. Then he sees his roomie’s sister again and he’s conflicted….Good descriptors and dialogue make an immersive experience. Compelling reading
Did you like the movie, You've Got Mail? If so, you will love this book! I think the book is better, though, lol. I loved how patient Ann was. I pray that the Lord will help me to get better at waiting for what I want. Very well done!
An interesting start for a series. I enjoyed this short but wonderful prelude and think this will be an exceptional collection. The characters are very likable as well.
An endearing Christian romance. While this is a quick read, the author does not scamp on details and writes an impactful and meaningful story that gives all the feels of a contemporary romance. The characterization is strong, and the setting adds to the storyline. Truly an entertaining read.
