Blaze
Blaze Savage, a cyborg marine ranger, fought in an interstellar war for ninety years. Captured and tortured by the enemy, he had wished for death in the darkest times.
The promise of her, the one female who was his genetic complement with whom he could breed and make a family, kept him from giving up. It was the promise of love embedded in their programming. But there was no plan for the cyborgs’ happy ending when the war was over.
Needing time to decompress after the war, Blaze went to the cyborg planet Phantom. But he knew he wouldn’t find her on a world with hardly any females.
When Commander Vyken Dark needed a team of rangers to bring law and order to the west, Blaze was ready to start the next part of his life on Earth, where he is already in the database of females looking for cyborg mates.
But fate steps in, and Blaze finds her running from a man who claims she belongs to him…

While she loves scifi, she always thought there should be more romance so she started writing it hot and steamy.

Just okay
It would have been amazing, but the constant long winded sex just overwhelmed any storyline. It felt more like a sex story than a love story. Not really romantic for me at all, plus the few bits of "oh another attack for revenge" made the whole thing feel jumbled.

I was sent a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.
This is my introduction to Clarissa Lake and I must admit this book had everything I love in a paranormal romance. There was adventure, suspense, corruption, raids, kidnapping, emotion and love.
Blaze is a cyborg who fought for ninety years in a war, spent time healing after being left for dead and then being recreated into a cyborg. He suffered intense pain and at times thought he could die, but one thing kept him going. Hope - hope that he had a genetic mate waiting for him. His job on coming to Earth is as a much pumped up version of a Texas Ranger and it's while he's checking a certain area he sees a woman being chased by a group of men who look anything but friendly. - his mate.
The story of their meeting, their subsequent move far away from the area, the sentence he poses on the guy his mate was fleeing from, the retaliation by members of that guy's family - all this makes for an extremely action packed story, and I loved it.
I have another author to add to my favorite authors list and I highly recommend this book.

She had sworn off men but learns to trust “her” cyborg because of his patience and kindness.

My previous read had zero sex :( This novel is going to fall into the category of 'careful what you wish for'. There is a story but I lost sight of what it was with the amount of 'rib your clothes on and just do sex' sections. I mean that literally, not remembering any romance or heat or foreplay prior to the sex, so for me, it does belong on my 'sex-erotica-hot' shelf.
Cyborgs are one of my favourite reads in Sci-fi but I have come across many stories that are slap labelled with 'cyborg' and the author never really addresses their mechanical upgrades/parts. And this is one of those low-level cyborg stories. Unfortunately, said are all compared to the FANTASTIC 5-star Cyborg series by Loranne Dohner (just to name one author).
By the end of chapter 25 (of 32) I abandoned it but I may return to finish it later.
There is a second book, Darken: Cyborg Ranger with the same author collaboration Clarissa Lake and Christine Myers.

Definately different
A ranking cyborg made to protect, trained to lead, a soldier promised a mate at the end of the war. When he returns to earth, he meets his mate, rescuing her from the bad guys. Whee! A roller coaster ride.
See what the future holds. A cyborg scout with a mission, nothing will stand in his way to protecting humanity from gangsters.
Wouldn't the makes of Star Wars love to make this into a movie or a series?
As for this ARC reader, I think this author has tremendous talent and a vivid imagination. I cannot wait to read what comes next.

Hot from page 1
Blaze is true to his name..not only does he burn hot for Pheobe at first sight...he burns with rage at her treatment and abuse and the hands of Martin and Edmond Stone, at separate times.
Pheobe is not sure about Blaze until he saves her a second time...and by then Blaze is a lost cause in love with her.
She learns to love and still stay true herself and her legacy and raising as a homesteader and after 90+ long years Blaze has the promise...love and family with his genetic match, Pheobe.

Sometimes hope is all you have. Especially after fighting for over ninety years. But will hope be enough when sent to the one planet that may, or may not have what you are looking for? Ranger Blaze Savage has more than enough strength and determination but without a mate, family is not possible. Will he find the only one that is perfectly suited for him? How will her past affect the present, or the future?

This was a sweet love story set in an old west type environment, except with high powered weapons and cyborgs. Blaze was a big, cyborg who had a sweet spot for his mate. There were some things that I didn’t feel were explained well like the “breeding”. I can’t believe I’m saying this but their were two frequent sex scenes, some back to back. I think there needs to be a balance. The ending was a kind of HFN. Otherwise I enjoyed this story. I’m a fan of this author. I recommend this book.

Frontier Revenge
Why doI hear that song Computer Love whenever I read a cyborg romance? I enjoyed this story because it had so much action in it. Revenge is a nasty goal and never seems to work out the way you plan. Poor Blaze and Phoebe were caught in a tit for tat spiral for a while before it was all resolved. The love scenes were hot, the cyborg Blaze was hot and it was good to see some of the others Cyborgs to pop up when needed. Overall a very entertaining read.

Good Series Starter
This first in series book is chock full of action...sex, fights and intrigue. The cyborgs were promised mates for fighting in a war that lasted nearly one hundred years. It was basically an empty promise until a genetic database was established to find their mates. Some parts of the story are pretty graphic. There are BDSM scenes and violence. I like the H/h characters and look forward to reading the next book. Enjoy!

Very enjoyable start to a new series
Blaze is a war weary cyborg captain, now a new Texas Ranger. Phoebe is a home steader sought after by a psychotic gangster. Plus, Phoebe us Blazes genetic mate. I enjoyed the insta-love between the two plus all the wild times subduing the bad guys in future wild west Texas. Great fun to read and I am binge reading the whole series. Highly recommended!

Having been severely hurt, mentally and physically, in the past; trust is an issue for the heroine. I like that the author has made her very feisty, but as one woman against multiple men, there is only so much she can do. Luckily, the hero is way more than just a man and certainly up to the task. There is action, danger and some very hot scenes to keep you entertained.

The first book in the Cyborg Rangers Series a well written story with a suspense filled storyline. Blaze Savage, a cyborg marine ranger meets Phoebe Brooks when he comes to her rescue. The story has action, suspense, drama, danger, villains, kidnapping, and romance. I want to read the next book. I read this book through K.U. and am leaving a review.

After the war ends and the cyborgs are released, they start the process of organizing areas n earth into law abiding places again. Blaze comes tp earth hoping to find his mate. He saves Phoebe from a group of men after her and finds his match. Very well written and worth reading more about the cyborgs,

CW - has scenes with torture, mentioning rape.
Really weak story progression, stilted, cringe dialogue, overdone, awkward sex scenes every second chapter or so. Constant info dumps, that interrupt the story.
Loved the war idea, and the cyborg initiative, but this simply couldn’t deliver. Wish someone would run with this and write a real story, worth reading.

Love after trauma
There is something about a love found and shared after trauma. Blaze and Phoebe were wonderful together. The connection that grew between them was sweet and tender yet fierce and strong. I loved them 💛

This must be a first effort. The storytelling left much to be desired. I found the “love scenes” to be stilted, and mediocre. If lake, and Myers were trying to titillate they failed.

This so was just okay. There is some adventure, where Blaze rescued his mate. Which I really enjoyed. However, if you like a lot of sex ... This the story for you. Still it was a fun read with a happily ever after.

Great story
I think Phoebe deserves a happy ending. This poor woman goes through he'll several times, even before her Cyborg mate finds her.
