Love Language #3

Love Limits

Rate this book
Ash wants a Daddy. Zhong wants Ash.

But Zhong knows he can't give Ash what they need. He's asexual, and when he looks for someone special, it should be someone who will be satisfied with what he can offer. Right?

Zhong has never been enough for anyone else, so when the playful sub who loves board games and wants a Daddy bounces into his life, he knows he’ll have to sit on the sidelines.

But as Zhong grows closer to Ash, he learns more about himself. Maybe he can be the Daddy Ash needs. Maybe his love doesn’t have to have limits.

Love Limits contains a caring asexual Daddy, a genderqueer sub, age play, puppy play, sign language and a HFN. Love Lessons and Love Limits share intertwined characters and timelines, and this book should be read only after reading Love Lessons.

Reese Morrison

Reese Morrison lives in Philadelphia with their partner, two precocious children, and intermittent housemates, guests, and homeless, queer teens. Their hobbies are volunteering on too many boards, planting gardens that they forget to water half-way through the summer, making up songs for their kids, and putting off writing their dissertation.

Reese and their partner both identify as genderqueer and are part of a vibrant community of queer and trans folks. They started writing because they were dissatisfied with the lack of trans and genderqueer characters in what they were reading and finally decided to do something about it. Many, but not all, of their books are kinky (for a whole range of kinks...) and they feel that it's important to represent a range of backgrounds, dis/abilities, gender presentations/ identities, and body types in their writing.

God this book. I can't even explain how special it is to have an asexual MC who is confident in their sexuality yet also working through new feelings about romantic attraction.

5 shining bright enthusiastic asexual stars 🌟
I honestly don't even know where to begin with a review. I binge read this entire book this afternoon, which doesn't happen often for me. I adored every single moment of this. It's an extremely validating book and gave me lots of feels. This book is kinky af but there absolutely no sex. It was glorious. Seeing ace rep in so many different ways is so important to me and having a Daddy ace made me super freaking happy. Like oh my gosh.

I also really love that both Zhong's asexuality and Ash's gender are big things in this book and aren't taken lightly. Both come with their own struggles in everyday life and watching the two of them figure out themselves both independently and together was really special. Not to mention both of them being Deaf and all of the ups and downs it brings.

One of my favorite parts of this series was the ASL and how the author managed to merge both ASL and English to showcase the beauty and poetry of ASL while translating it into written words. I often found myself googling what different signs looks like and feeling even more connected to the story.

I can't recommend this book enough, but you absolutely need to read Love Lessons first. They are interwined and essential to each other. You don't necessarily need the first book in the series even though Marco and Greg make small appearances in both Love Lessons and Love Limits.

Rep: Deaf Chinese-American Panromantic Asexual MC. Deaf Queer Intersex Genderqueer POC MC.

Kinks: Daddy, age play (young 4-5yrs), puppy play

CW: brief mention of death of an elderly patient (Ash is a nurse)

That's it? This really isn't a heavy book. Both Ash and Zhong are comfortable and secure in their gender and asexuality, respectively, and don't really experience any internalized trans or aphobia. There's small mentions of ableism when it comes to hearing people and the lack of considerations for Deaf people, but even that isn't highlighted as much in this one. It's more prevalent in previous books.

4,5 stars. Zhong knows he can’t give Ash what they want, a Daddy. He will watch on the sideline how Ash will find what they need.
Ash is genderqueer, pron. they/them, sweet, playful, funny, and endearing and wants desperately a Daddy. When Ash meets Zhong they see a Daddy and are so hopeful. Zhong is strong and warm, gives the best cuddles, and loves to feed Ash. These are the signs, no?
Zhong is honest about being asexual and tells Ash he wishes for them they will find someone!
Ash feels it sucked it can’t be Zhong.

They both date, not with each other. Ash is a puppy, a little, a sub, nothing Zhong can give them. Still, they end up together more evenings and nights in the week.
They are getting closer and closer, Zhong acting like a Daddy but is oblivious. Ash loved it all and silently calls him Daddy.
Zhong feels something inside when being close to Ash, he’s sad. It’s just like his relationship with Dustin. Close very close, but the other ready to move to someone else.
He will never be the one.

Ash wants Zhong and Zhong is convinced he can’t give Ash what they need.

My heart did strange things watching Zhong and Ash, I wanted to shout to them, “look at you two!! Stop looking elsewhere! You’re already a beautiful team!!”

I want a Zhong for myself, he’s just perfect, I loved and adored him! And Ash dear, sweet, lovely Ash I loved them deeply!

Besides Zhong and Ash, there is Dustin who has a somewhat complicated relationship with Landon/Lea.
I love the learning path they are all on. The focus here is on Zhong and Ash, they walk a beautiful, kind, considerate, respectful path, they are just so extremely lovable!
It’s a widely developed story, beautifully layered and entertainingly written!
Two beautiful people who communicate with ASL (wonderful addition btw) they get their hea!
I can say this is the sweetest story with so much kindness, love, and understanding. I’ve never read any LGBTQIAP narrative like this before!

Ash is on a mission to find a Daddy. They know it won’t be easy; they’re proudly deaf, intersex, and kinky, so finding the right daddy might take a lot of dates. But what happens when they meet the "Daddiest" "Daddy" ever to call himself "Daddy"…and he doesn’t even know it?

Zhong loves packing Ash’s lunch and buying him presents. He loves playing board games with the playful sub and even cuddling with him at night. For Ash, he even goes to a kink club on "pup" night to be Ash’s "handler". But Zhong knows that his love has its limits. He could never be what Ash is looking for.... could he?

Love Limits has a caring ace Daddy, a genderqueer sub, age play, puppy play, and a HFN (Happy for Now) on-going theme. This is the third book in the Love Language series, which celebrates the deaf culture,

Ash was *intersex", (see note below*), a sub, a pup, and totally deaf. We first find him on a "mission" to find himself a "Daddy". He does meet a "Daddy", but he has no idea that is what the man is.... which made me slightly question his level of actual experience in the BDSM community. That's something that's pretty elementary for most BDSM participants. But it is a story after all, and I was fairly sure that Ash would learn.

The we have Zhong who is asexual (ace) and loves doing everyday tasks like packing Ash a lunch as well as buying him presents. He likes playing board games and cuddling with Ash at night. He is even prepared to go to a "kink" club and be Ash's "Handler" on "pup" night. But Zhong thinks that surely, he can't be enough for Ash. There were many times that I wanted to bonk the man upside his hard, thick head:)

I liked the story, but I struggled with some of the behaviors of Ash and Zhong as well as some of the other folks that surrounded them. I liked the "Ash" character... a lot. He was sweet, curious, and a pure joy. I was glad that he got his happiness, even if it wasn't everything that he wanted or expected, with Zhong. It will help some readers understand more about people that identify as "ace", and what they need. It worked out well that Zhong was a good "handler" for Ash's "pup". It was an easy story to read, to feel, and to understand. This is an M/M romance story with a BDSM-like relationship along with a DDLB, (Daddy Dom /Little Boy), dynamic, and there is some puppy play. Puppy play is not my favorite book theme, but in this case, it added to the story and provided a better understanding of the two character's relationship.

Would I recommend it? Maybe, maybe not. I would be very careful who I recommended it to. Even people that are into M/M romances may find it a bit..."offsetting". I read and own A LOT of M/M Romances...but I read this book because, for a challenge, I needed "a character who could be considered "androgynous", and Ash and Zhong fit that category very well.

NOTES
"Intersex" is a term that many people may not hear very often, or perhaps not at all. It's a term used for people who are born with one or more traits in their chromosomes, genitals, hormones, or internal reproductive organs that don’t fit the "typical" male or female patterns. Some of their traits might not match the sex they are assigned at birth or may combine the traditionally understood male and female traits.

"ace" is a sexual orientation characterized by experiencing little or no sexual attraction. Asexual individuals, often called "aces," may identify with varying degrees of attraction, and the term can also encompass those who experience attraction rarely or only under specific circumstances. Asexuality is recognized as a valid sexual orientation.

"genderqueer" is an identity that some folks use that identify themselves as being neither female or male, or as being both, or even somewhere in between.

There’s a little overlap between Love Limits and Love Lessons, the book prior to it, as we get to experience Ash and Zhong’s side of things. I’m so intrigued by how this is building toward a polyamorous relationship between all four characters in the next book.

Zhong is asexual and has recently discovered he’s panromantic. He wants to find someone for himself the way his best friend Dustin found Landon/Lena. He’s instantly drawn to Ash when they come to Dustin and Landon’s game night and Ash is drawn to him as well. However, Ash really wants to find a Daddy and Handler and Zhong isn’t kinky. Except Zhong is unintentionally the best Daddy Ash has ever met.

This had the right amount of angst as both Zhong and Ash develop a friendship and wonder if there might be room for something more but fear risking ruining what they already have. They’re both great at holding space for the other person’s interests and needs and figuring out their common ground. Zhong has never had any interest in age play or puppy play but Ash’s enthusiasm—and simply his need to take care of them and make them smile—changes things. I got such a kick out of how things evolved and how oblivious they both were to the other person’s feelings. Looking forward to seeing how things develop from here!

I’ll be looking for reviews from ace and genderqueer or intersex readers to see how the representation landed with them.

Characters: Ash is a 29 year old Deaf polyamorous genderqueer, intersex white nursing home nurse, artist, fashion designer, and submissive/little. They sometimes wear hearing aids. Zhong is is a 33 year old Deaf asexual panromantic Chinese American freelance editor and proofreader.

Content notes: food and diet commentary (including whether certain food is “healthy” and describing other things as “empty calories”), description of Ash’s genitalia (not in great detail but , ableism, past acephobia, off page death of retirement community resident, off page hospitalization of resident in diabetic coma (recovers), possible HIPAA violation , Ash is a nurse (administers finger prick for glucose test for a patient), on page sex ), age play, puppy play, gendered pejoratives, ableist language, mentions of past misgendering, mention of Ash’s mom getting pregnant with him in high school

Ash and Zhong might be my favorite book yet. This was so sweet and cuddly! I enjoyed how this went deep into the meaning of relationships, and what a romantic versus sexual relationship could look like.

I am obsessed with Ash. They have so much cuteness going on. I love their sunshine personality and couldn't stop grinning whenever we were in their POV. They like to enjoy life and can find really beautiful things in the most random places. Reading about them making food art was so cute. I also had so much fun reading about their relationship with Zhong, and how they didn't ever pressure him for sexual anything. Respecting that core aspect of Zhong, while loving everything else about him was so nice to see.

Puppy play was so much fun to watch, and it sounds like a great time. The age play was also very cute, and it was really interesting seeing kinks explored in a nonsexual way. This book was so sweet. I'm really excited to see how the poly group dynamic will work out.

One of the things I love about Reese‘s writing is their ability to write a story *through* the developing relationship. Instead of the characters existing *in* the story, they *are* the story. Its also not very often that there are two very different people with very different identities and needs and their eventual coming together still believable, but in this story, it is. Zhong and Ash are seemingly different in so many ways, but when it comes down to it, who they are and what they need are exactly the same. They are also neither “in question” about who they are, so there is no personal identity crisis for either character, simply a really lovely lesson on how to combine their identities so they can work as a unit. And it works. It’s impossibly sweet and the reader learns a little bit along the way. Another excellent installment in Reese’s colorful and diverse world.

Estuvo genial.

This was a sweet, low-angst, mm romance. Although Ash enjoys age play and puppy play, the kink was very light, and with an asexual character, the focus was not at all on sex. I enjoyed the characters and the story (but I did miss the sex).

This very much felt like a middle book. It was a continuation of Love Lessons, and I’m not sure you’d get as much out of it without reading that one first. Many of the same events are told from Zhong and Ash’s point of view, and Landon/Lena and Dustin figured very heavily into this narrative.

Although this technically has an HEA, it feels like it’s really just setting up for the next book. It felt incomplete to me. And although this was Ash and Zhong’s book, it felt more like a short story that was a bridge between the first and second part of Dustin and Landon/Lena’s story. I liked it, but not as much as other books and stories I’ve read by the author.

This story feels really close to my heart.
I just want to highlight how much emotional work this book does . Morrison really explores how it is to be asexual, specifically when it comes to other relationships. Zhong has been happy for many years in his life with Dustin (and Sarah) and only more recently questioned his queer identity more. And you can tell clearly how this unmoors him as he tries to find his place.
It was so easy to sympathize with him worrying he might lose Dustin to Landon, not being enough for Ash, and deciding what he willing to give and take. Ash, of course, has similar problems, seeing Zhong display obvious kinky signs while not actually acknowledging it, Ash's wishes for what they want in their future long-term relationships.

While Zhong is a very analytical person, you can see that despite all his research and knowledge, he can't fully separate himself from the subject. There were many moments where I found it so very obvious what was happening but Zhong could not combine the idea that asexuality and kink are not mutually exclusive which is such a common thing. Or simply realizing that his Daddy relationship with Ash does not need to meet a certain checklist or general criteria of what is considered "normal".

It was overall just delightful.
And I am so very excited for the setup we got for the next book, I cannot wait to see it play out after we got teased about it.

This is my favorite book I’ve read so far this year. Words are really not enough to describe how much I loved it. I already loved Zhong and Ash from their introduction in “love lessons” and I couldn’t wait to read their story. I devoured the book, got completely lost in it and now I’m book hangover and I love it. My heart ached for Zhong, he had so much love to give and felt like he wasn’t enough. I was so heartbroken for him. The asexual representation was perfect. Ash was such a kind, wonderful person. Full of sunshine and happiness. You can’t not like Ash.
Their slow burn sweet romance was the most beautiful thing and when they finally talked and worked things out, I was so very very happy for them. They were so incredibly cute together. I honestly could read ten books with Zhong and Ash and I’m ecstatic we’re getting another book with Zhong, Ash, Dustin and Landon/Lena. I can’t wait to see how the relationship between the four of them evolves. Amazing series. I highly highly recommend it.

I received a free copy of this book through Gay Romance Reviews and this is my honest review.

I just adored Ash and Zhong. These two characters have the best time when they are together, but what Ash needs and what Zhong feels that he can give them makes a future together very difficult. Ash is gender fluid and wants a Daddy who will let them be a Little sometimes, and enjoy pup play at other times. They want to feel the love and protection of a full time Daddy. Zhong is asexual but realized he is romantic. His favorite thing in the world is cuddling. As Ash and Zhong spend more time together, Zhong's natural instinct to take care of Ash shows that there is more "Daddy" in Zhong than he realizes. I loved how their friendship evolved. It seemed that they naturally became just what the other one needed. The way Zhong doted on Ash was so incredibly sweet and the way Ash just let Zhong do whatever he felt comfortable with melted my heart. These two have a beautiful bond that allows them to look past conventional definitions of their sexuality and lets them focus on just doing what makes them both happy. This series just keeps getting better!

I am so, so happy! I've waited for this book forever, and the ancitipation was killing me slowly. I was both excited and afraid of the book, because I had high expectations, but let me tell you, this book was so much more and better than I hoped for!

This book is everything and more. The perfect asexual representation book. Perfect with the Daddy kink, age play and puppy play. Zhong and Ash were so good together and I loved reading their story so much.

This is exactly what I'm looking for in a romance book. I don't need sex and kisses on all pages, this book is the perfect example for how to write an amazing romance book without those things. It blew my mind! So, so good! I can't recommend it enough! I knew Zhong will be amazing, but with Ash...just OMG.

I loved the board games, loved all the cuddles, loved that Dustin and Landon/Lena were both there and played so much in this relationship. I really can't wait for the next book and see where this all goes! So exciting!

And the other best thing beside the great asexual and BDSM rep is the ASL! The sign languages is so amazingly well written and it came through. I just love this series and its uniqueness.

HIGHLY recommend this book and this series!

ps. the cover is perfect! Exactly how I imagine Ash! (Zhong is different in my head, but Ash!!)

Unlike a lot of what I read, this book wasn't full of smut or dark. It wasn't super angsty, nor action-packed. Yet at the same time, it reminded me so much of what I love about romance. And that is cozy, comfortable character-driven stories that just warm your heart.

Ash was just the cutest little cutie ever. I love them so much. Every time they were on the page I felt ridiculously giddy. Their relationship with Zhong was just so precious and pure. It felt fleshed-out and honest.

If you don't like character-driven stories, you're not going to love this book. And if you haven't read the book before this, you're not going to understand a whole lot. But if you love sweet romances, if you want more diverse characters and stories, and you're looking for some feel-good kink, this is it. 5 stars because little and pup Ash was everything.

This story is so incredibly beautiful. I've been sitting and thinking of how to write a review that will encompass all this book was. I am pretty vocal about my love of books that include the spiciest of scenes. This book had once kind of sexual scene in the beginning. Since it was written from the POV of Zhong, who is asexual, I barely count it as one. I didn't miss the spice at all. Zhong and Ash's story is one of love in its purest form and I wouldn't change a thing about it. There is very little angst and some very mild age play (no ABDL) and puppy play. Totally my thing but it's not for everyone.

I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Love Limits follows Ash and Zhong's love story. The book is very sweet and somewhat emotional. It also provides new insight into the deaf community. Gender becomes somewhat difficult to follow at times due to Ash being genderneutral. The book contains some light kink in the form of puppy play and daddy/boy relationships and was overall a very enjoyable read. The story started with Dustin and Landon/Lena in the previous book and both books should be read together for the most enjoyment.

I was eagerly awaiting this book and it did not disappoint. I loved seeing Zhong and Ash's story. I loved the way that Zhong was slowly being led into being Ash's daddy without really realizing it. Ash and Zhong are just the sweetest couple and such dynamic characters. I really enjoyed reading their story. The age and puppy play scenes are just so endearing and I love seeing Ash be able to be themself. I absolutely adored this story and just melted with it. I would absolutely recommend this book, but be careful because you could die of the awww overload.

This is yet another amazing story in this wonderful series from Reese Morrison. It's full of life and emotion from all of the characters involved and both MC's stole my heart with everything that they go through, individually and together. It is highly recommended that Love Limits is read after Love Lessons (Love Language #3).
This book actually starts at the same time as Love Lessons but we're focused on Zhong and Ash. Both are different in what they are looking for from a partner. Zhong's asexuality has kept him alone apart from his relationship with his best friend Dustin. His recent self discovery of being panromantic means that he's looking for a partner similar to himself, or so he thinks. Ash has recently come out of a poly relationship and is looking for someone who can care for his little side as well as his puppy side. Dustin and Landon/Lena bring the two together as they all join forces for board game nights and a friendship blooms strong and bright between the MC's. Zhong's innate caring nature brings some daddy vibes to Ash but it takes a moment for them to establish what each is looking for.
What unfolds between them is an emotional ride as they find out what they really want but also what they truly want in another, what they would be happy with in regards to kink and daily life as well as fitting in with other relationships. This is especially important when it comes to Zhong's friendship with Dustin. I love how important people are in this story; friends, significant others, supportive community etc. This holds true for the kink community as well as the Deaf community with both MC's a part of the latter but only Ash part of the first, though Zhong goes into full on research mode with every new thing he learns about Ash. The main thing Zhong wants is to make his friends and important person happy and he dives straight in every single time.
I have totally fallen in love with this series and all of the characters involved but Zhong is especially close to my heart. This is, at times, an emotional read and I was gripped throughout the book as the story and characters evolved.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

I got an ARC from the author.
After reading Love Language and Love Lessons, I was looking forward for this story.
And I was right.
I loved the way Reese tells us about Zhong's discovery of kinks, who is a Daddy and doesn't know at all.
And also loved the way Ash is able and free to be themselves around Zhong.
The puppy play scene was amazing, it melt my heart.
I absolutely loved this story and I can't wait for Love Unlimited.

In Love Limits, once again Reese Morrison impresses with complex characters. I love the whole Love Language series so far. With this being the third book in the series, be sure to read them in order.

This part of the series is about Zhong and Ash. It follows the same timeline as Love Lessons so it definitely helps to read both. We learn more about Dustin, and wow, some new things come to light that surprise and confuse Zhong.

Zhong is asexual and panromantic, with the most complicated of emotions. Or I should say, he struggles to understand love and his wants. He's a total cuddle slut, which I came to adore in Love Lessons. And it isn't until now that he learns he was in a relationship with Dustin.

Oh, I adore how clueless and complex Zhong is. His asexual side is beyond perplexing to him.

Add in the multi-layered Ash and things get even more convoluted.

Front and center of this story, and series, is the deaf community. There's plenty about the deaf community and the complexity of dating a hearing person if one is deaf. I absolutely love and appreciate how much it means to Ash to find friends who are in the community. As Ash had discovered, living in the hearing world has it's own set of complications. I appreciate how much they enjoy finding people who are also deaf.

Ash, oh sweet Ash. Ash is gender queer, born intersex and deaf. Ash longs to find a Daddy for themselves, as well as a handler during puppy time. Talk about a particular and complex set of needs.

There is a whole lot of in depth discussions about polyamory in this book. I won't give anything away. But all the characters understand that for some people polyamory is the best choice. Given Zhong's asexual status, I enjoy the way this is all discussed.

At the heart of the story, Ash desperately wants a Daddy. They're instantly attracted to Zhong, but Zhong is far from Daddy material. Or is he?

I don't want to give anything away, but, damn, these two are so good together. They're such opposites, but their desires and needs mesh well in the end. The journey to get there though is full of doubts, fears, and plenty of internal debate. It isn't easy. But it's worth it.

And oh, the puppy scene is just darling. This is my favorite moment in the book. Most of all, the amount of trust it takes for Ash to become a puppy and lose their ability to communicate is amazing. It's remarkable and absolutely beautiful that Ash can trust Zhong to care for them in this moment.

In addition to all I mentioned above, I love the relationship between Ash and their mom. Omg, the fact that they are so open about their sex life with their mom is truly remarkable. I love it.

Once again, the author excels in developing a multi-layered tale with complex characters. No one is better at writing diverse and unique characters. Sexuality and gender play a large part in who these characters are, and the author wonderfully develops and explores this. Hell, the fact that Ash is intersex and it doesn't matter at all, is stellar!

Love Limits is a sweet and tender romance. Reese Morrison once again impresses and entertains in this romance. This is a must read when you're in the mood for an emotional romance. The heat isn't here for this one, which makes sense given Zhong's sexuality. But the emotions are front and center throughout.

I got a new Reese Morrison book and I'm jhdjfhewjfhewifhjk. Okay, *deep breath*, enough of being a nerd, time to review.
Once again, this a very kinky story, so make sure this is for you.
Every time a new book in this series comes out, I always think, "this is the king of slow burns" and then the next one comes out and...you guessed it. Love Limits is the king of slow burns. I spent this entire book just wanting to lock these two idiots in a room until they finally talked, realized they should make it official and cuddled it out.
I loved Zhong and Ash's relationship and dynamics so much, how they were perfect for each other and cared for one another and respected each other identity, with Zhong being asexual and Ash, genderfluid and intersex. I loved reading their more kinky scenes as much as I loved reading about them doing crossword puzzle right before bed, playing tabletop games with their friends and cooking together...this book is just the cutest.
Deaf culture was also a big, BIG part of this story, with both characters being deaf and I loved learning about it so much as was Ash's and Zhong's own identities. Once again, none of these characters was forced to do anything they didn't want to do just to please the other. Reese writes about consent and relationships so beautifully that my heart aches.
One of the big themes in this book was also the introduction of polyamory and the notion of primary and secondary partners and I'm really looking forward to seeing what happens in the next book because it would just be *perfect*!
Oh, oh, oh also it was revealed that the Love Language series and the Whirlwind series are in the same universe and I'm crying!!! Every time a character from the previous books appeared here, I had to take a deep breath because I just got so happy.

Thank you to Reese Morrison for having sent me this DRC.

This book shares characters and a timeline with the previous book in the series, Love Lessons, so if you haven’t read that one already, go back, it’s great! I actually liked Love Limits even more though, because Ash and Zhong were such an amazing couple. Ash is genderqueer, a little who wants a Daddy and a puppy who wants a handler. They’re immediately drawn to Zhong, whose kindness, attentiveness, and quick wits mesh well with their own abundant enthusiasm and intelligence. Plus they share a deep love of cuddles and board games. Zhong is the perfect Daddy for Ash-- he just doesn’t know it. Asexual, he knows he wants a romantic partner, but he fears not being enough for someone who isn’t also ace. He knows he likes to nurture and care for Ash, but he doesn’t quite connect that to the role of “Daddy” until Ash shows him how. I loved the patience and care with which Ash and Zhong treat each other, and how they look out for each other in different ways, emotionally and physically. Their relationship is full of open communication and real closeness, and their story is so compelling, it’s easy to go along for the ride. I also liked that as their narrative unfolds, it immerses readers in the characters’ world in ways that show pieces of ASL, Deaf culture, and kink communities in thoughtful and compelling ways. While we definitely leave these two in a good place at the end of this novel, I’m holding out hope we’ll see them again in future books: they’re way too awesome to let go.

As the other books were very kinky and full of sex I was really curious to see how this book was going to unfold. As mentioned in the previous book Zhong is asexual and I was excited to see and learn how he was going to explore being kinky but also explore his relationship with Ash.

But gosh people, this book holy shits. I loved it so so much. And I guess that's to be expected because Morrison has already absolutely proven that their books are amazing with book 1 and 2 of this series. But I keep being surprised by how much each book adds to the series and makes it even better.

I absolutely loved it how much communication there was, miscommunication is a big trope in book 2 so it was nice to see the opposite now. It was great how Zhong kept being open and communicative about his boundaries. And how they kept being respected every single time. Gosh healthy relationships are just so good to read about.

I also really liked it how Ash being intersex was handled. Their body was respected and handled with care. It just made me incredibly happy.

Ash and Zhong explore kink together a lot through puppy play and those scenes were so so great. I felt like crying reading them because they made me so happy. And a little bit jealous I will honestly admit too. But to be honest, these books in general really make me realize I gotta get more kinky myself because I really want to explore what I like more than I do now.

As a conclusion please people read this series it is fabulous.

The Love Language series has continually amazed me, with its detailed and supportive inclusion of trans, genderqueer, genderfluid, and Deaf/deaf characters using ASL. Reese gives us clear insight into the sexuality of the characters, as well as the culture of the Deaf characters, while also providing us with a good dose of education.

Love Limits is the story of an asexual caretaker who knows nothing of BDSM and a genderfluid character, very deep into BDSM, looking for a Daddy. Both characters have to explore their needs, grow within those needs and their limits, and find if they are compatible in a lasting way.

This book was special to me. As I identify as ace, Zhong's exploration of his capacity for intimacy and romance, while engaging with someone who is sexual, significantly resembled my reality. I wish this book had been available to read when I was much younger! The depth of Zhong's internal dialog, his realizations of what he can and can't do, as well as his method of tackling tough questions were illustrated perfectly.

Ash was a beautiful character, as well. Light, cheerful yet conflicted, Ash's desire for a caring Daddy jumped off the pages and innocently challenged Zhong's assumptions as to his own compatibility with relationships.

This book is one I will reread many times. A true romance, with a touch of kink, between complex characters with significant capacity for love, who just needed to find their way.

I am a fan of this series and this latest book gives readers a wonderful story about finding the perfect person for what you need. Zhong is asexual and it seems that what he can give is never enough, but Ash seems to be different. Their relationship starts off innocently enough and it soon grows into something much more. The more time the two spend together the more they fit. Zhong finds that he enjoys caring for Ash and spending time with him, but can he take that step and offer Ash what Zhong sees as a limited relationship?

Ash and Zhong are good characters they both have interesting personalities and are full of depth. It was nice to see main characters that are not the norm being shown in a good way and not seen as different or wrong. I also enjoyed seeing an Asian main character as they are not represented a lot and the little details like oranges and that Zhong does not eat dairy products much made this Asian feel as if the author put effort and thought into the characters. I loved seeing the way Zhong thinks about everything especially the kink world. He makes a good partner for Ash and it was nice to watch them find their way. I also loved the friendships between Ash, Zhong, Dustin and Landon. Their friendships add a nice touch to this story. Ash and Zhong’s story moves at a good pace and it kept my attention all the way to the end. It is a sweet story full of love and friendship.
