“Hello, neighbor. Going down?”

Miss Pink
That’s what I call her.
Her “real” name is too ridiculous to repeat.
Besides, my nickname for her is more than apt.
Everything about her is pink, from the pink champagne she gets delivered by the caseload, to the tiny pink feathers I find randomly breezing down the hallway of our apartment building in her wake.
It’s ridiculous…in the most addictive way.

Clark Kent
That’s what I call him.
His “real” name is still a mystery to me.
Which makes him all the more intriguing.
Besides, my nickname for him is more than apt.
Everything about him is straight-laced and serious from the dark-rimmed glasses to the dark suits he wears to work each day.
There’s something about that stoic demeanor which is…so dang sexy.

We’re as opposite as can be.
Who would have ever thought we’d end up as a couple?
Certainly not our exes.

… "...That show was…” … “You,” He says, his focus all on me. “It was you, Honey. And…I loved it.”

-ˏˋ MY FULL THOUGHTS & FEELINGS ˎˊ-

Are you in the mood for an a-f*cking-dorable romance? GREAT, then read Tease . Have you been wanting to read a book that incorporates an achingly sweet romance that also incorporates relevant themes and messaging? FABULOUS, proceed to Amazon to purchase TEASE . Or maybe you love the grump-sunshine dynamic! WONDERFUL, go read this book. But really the main reason you guys need to read this book is because the heroine's name is Honey Dewberry. I'll say that again, her name is HONEY DEWBERRY.

I love that our heroine not only revels in her love of all things pink and fabulous, but I additionally adore that she changed her name to something as amazing as Honey Dewberry. That's honestly a true #powermove✨ that I someday hope to emulate. Basically, I fell in love with the cover of TEASE - seriously there is something so eye catching about that cover - and then fell deeper in love with its contents. This book really surprised me in the way its underlying message hit me so deep. TEASE preaches the idea of not only accepting who you are but celebrating yourself. I don't know about you guys but I need that kind of positivity in my life right now. So go forth my loves, go forth and read TEASE. OH, and while you're at it maybe you can talk to someone about giving it an actual synopsis on Goodreads. . . like come on people, you had one job.

Some fluff and sweet story after three mafia books it’s what I needed.

You can’t beat some Georgia’s accent and sassy personality against a stuck-up new york’s lawyer👌🏻❤️

Cute read.

This was a fluffy, sweet, quick read. It was a little rushed in a few places but it was still really entertaining and exactly what I needed to read.

4.5 star but rounded up.

This was delightful.

The writing is sharp and bright. The dialogue is bubbly and sparkly. The romantic chemistry is sexy. The story is fun.

I was struck by how well drawn the characters all were. Not just the heroine and hero -- they were both well conceived and written -- but all the characters were vivid on page. They each had a personality that felt organic.

One other thing I also appreciated was that under all the frothy sexiness there was an interesting theme about the masks we all hide behind from putting on a persona to fit in or be more accepted from the clothes we wear to even what names we choose to call ourselves. Every character had an inner face and an outer one.

I enjoyed Honey and Jesse. They were total opposites. He was definitely a buttoned up Clark Kent who was trying to make partner at a white shoe firm. But I liked him best when he let his Ne Jersey, blue collar Italian self come to the front. Honey was a super delight. I want to her her friend. I want to take her to every boring office party or meet and greet and let her be my wing person and charm everyone and light up the room.

I especially loved their different 'going to meet the family' scenes. I am a sucker for big boisterous families.

Took a half star off because the epilogue was a bit much. Sweet, but just a bit much.

5.0 ⭐️

“If Norma Jean can become Marilyn Monroe, certainly Albertha Dixon (can you even imagine?) can become Honey Dewberry.”

Pleased to meet you, Honey. You are one of the most fascinating, alluring, titillating, highly intelligent, sharp-witted, hilariously entertaining female protagonists that I can ever recall meeting during my recent junkets through fictionland.

From the opening scene, Honey is dressed in “a long, pink, silk robe, with pink feather trim, and pink Manolo Blahnik mules.” She is being confronted by one of the residents in her upscale apartment building about her “wardrobe malfunction.” As Honey wields her shrewd quips, my interest is peaked. By the conclusion of this ridiculous, outrageously funny scene, I am thoroughly captivated. The characters, including the secondary ones, have distinct personalities and the scenarios are so vivid, I often felt like I was right there, relishing the goings on. Honey, well, she’s just priceless, and I couldn’t help loving her character.

Similarly, Honey’s neighbor whom she’s nicknamed, “Clark Kent,” is a sexy, extremely likable character. He’s a hard working lawyer, who expects to make partner at his law firm. He introduces himself as Jesse, although his name is Gueseppi Castiglione, and in fact, the firm’s partners have asked him to stick to Jesse when dealing with clients. After he begins interacting with Honey, Jesse undergoes a metamorphosis that is a beauty to witness—he drops the façade. Jesse and Honey together are beautiful and their sexual encounters are explosive.

At first blush, I thought this book was nothing more than a hilarious rom-com that was loads of fun to read. On the contrary, despite the humor, there are some serious underlying truths that affect Honey and Jesse in different ways. I see beyond Honey’s outlandish antics or Jesse’s bottled-up persona. When I came to realize that there is more than meets the eye here, I have developed an even greater appreciation for this book.

In conclusion, this book is an unexpected gem. It is hilarious, fanciful and often describes ridiculous, OTT antics of the characters. But, if you’re tempted to write this book off or dismiss it as being too silly, DON’T. Give it a chance. It is surprisingly nuanced if you pay attention to those subtle overarching themes and important underpinnings of the story. I highly recommend this book—it is a solid 5 stars for me, and, so far, it’s my favorite read of the year.

🌼🌻My thanks go out to Monique and Rosie for recommending this book. I am sooo glad I listened to you ladies.🌺🌺

Honey Dewberry thought the day was the day that her beau, Francis Hickenbatter, would finally put a ring on it but instead he puts on the breaks, at least temporarily so he says, to what she thought would be the beginning of her happily ever after. She also learns that while he's put her on the shelf for later that he'll be spending time with his also temporarily new girlfriend. So what's Honey suppose to do? Find herself a temporary boyfriend of her own, that's what she'll do. Now if she can just convince her hot neighbor that he's the best man for the job which will not be so easy since he's determined to keep Honey at a distance.
Jesse Castiglione has a plan and that plan doesn't include getting mixed up with what he considers to be his over the top but beautiful neighbor. She's not part of his straight lace by the book life he's planned for himself. The only thing missing is the the right woman by his side and Honey, in his opinion, is definitely not the right one. To bad Honey has other plans, and it won; be so easy for Jesse to look the other way.
I absolutely loved these characters. Honey and Jesse, who thought they were total opposites, soon find out that first impressions may not be the whole truth after all. This story was entertaining from beginning to end and the characters where a joy to get to know, especially Honey. I enjoyed all of the sexual teasing going on and if your looking for a great Valentines Story, I think you will enjoy Jesse and Honey's sweet and funny romance too.

This story was deceptively delicious! I initially dismissed Ms. Honey Dewberry as flighty, flirty and shallow—but she’s so much more. In fact, she’s AbFab as in Absolutely Fabulous —dahling!

Honey finds out that in order for her very rich boyfriend to increase the growth of his company, he's planned a fake romance ruse with a perfect on paper woman from his social circle. Honey is not happy and gives him the third and fourth degrees. He tells her, it’s just temporary and it means nothing. Insert ... one raised eyebrow!

Honey attempts to take it all in stride with a little help from her friends and her hot neighbor, Jesse Castiglione from across the hall that tries not to get swept up into all things Honey Dewberry and pink feathers.

Jesse tried, Lord knows he did, but resistance was futile. Once Honey comes onto his radar, she’s all he can think about despite what his head tells him. Will Jesse continue to listen to his head or his heart after he discovers the secret Honey has been keeping?

I loved these characters and this story, just in time for Valentine’s Day. Highly, highly Recommended: Read It!

The audacity of Francis to relegate Honey to being his side chick! I can’t even! I wanted to reach into the book and ring that man-b@tch’s neck! I gave Honey a standing ovation for realizing off bat that she is worth so much more 👏🏽.

Jesse was busy living his life for other people (reminds me of a few people I know) and fighting his attraction to the eccentric Honey. Together they come up with a scheme to make their ex’s jealous.

Highly recommend! More than once, the storyline will speak to your soul!

I’m not sure what I was expecting but it wasn’t to enjoy this as much as I did. This was so freaking cute. I loved, LOVED this! I was smiling and “aww”-ing the whole way through. I’m still smiling typing this. An opposites attract story featuring a flirty performer and her somber lawyer neighbor, this is not one to miss.

Although they haven’t shared more than a few words in passing for a year, Honey and Jesse have definitely noticed one another. After being “not dumped” by her boyfriend, Honey is inspired to do more than just “Hello, neighbor" Jesse.

I loved the message/lesson I interpreted from this fun story. We have two characters who have reinvented themselves, to an extent. Honey (formerly Albertha Dixon) gave herself a new name, one that she felt better represented (or rather announced) the woman she was and wanted to be. Jesse (Giuseppe Castiglione) shortened his name as a child to better fit in and avoid trouble with bullies and jerk kids; he felt Jesse was a better name to fit into his surroundings and stuck with it as an adult. He also lived his adult life in a permanent code-switch; he was chasing a professional image that wasn’t true to himself. He eventually reveals to Honey the Jersey boy that lies beneath his serious exterior. Honey and Jesse reassure one another that they are perfect as their authentic selves and should do and be whomever/whatever brings them happiness. *Swoon*

I loved the family element that was touched upon. The introductions to each other’s families was just perfect. I like closure in my books and I appreciate those added details that let me peek into Honey and Jesse’s HEA.

This was a warm cup of cocoa filled with marshmallows and topped with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles. Warm, sweet and so delicious! This story was on the shorter side but it was no tease…😏. It was perfection, I couldn’t ask for more; I was greatly satisfied. Chef's kiss! 💋

I apologize for all the gushing but...this was so cute!

I look forward to reading more of Camilla Steven's work.

I don't know who the heck Camilla Stevens is, but she impressed the hell out of me with this book!
I was hooked from the opening scene, and this story had me on my toes the whole time.
With the exception of a few typos - mainly a missing letter at the end of some words, and someone named Antoinette, who I assume was Arabella for the rest of the read - 'Tease' was well-written and hilarious in parts. It's a perfect rom-com, told in the alternating viewpoints of the H/h. The intimate scenes were hot without being tacky; a big plus for me, especially as they didn't take over the story.
Generally for me, I tend to like the male love interest over the female; in this book, while Jesse/Giuseppe was a dream, Honey stole the damn show. I loved her quirkiness, rapid-fire wit, intelligence, and style.

I'll definitely be taking a look at more of Steven's books! Bravo! 5 pink stars!

A word of advice...

Really good, southern style potato salad REQUIRES mayonaise. Not an option. Anything else will not do and quite frankly is... too horrible to ponder. Celery is requisite as well.

I read a lot. A LOT. I've read good books, OK books, and given up on some really, really bad books. This was definitely a good book [despite the potato salad faux pas 😄]. Well written, likeable main characters, and a good length. So many times these days, readers' sensibilities are abused with books of 100 pages or less, disguised and passed off as "novels". Not a problem here.

This book did not disappoint. I will checking out more by Ms. Stevens.

I wanted to love this, I really did but unfortunately it was not for me.

I feel like the characters had no chemistry and the build up to the relationship was just very forced. Like how you go from trying to get your exes back to instantly having feelings for each other, didn’t make sense to me.

Also the plot gave me nothing, at some point I started skimming the unimportant parts just so I can finished this.

Overall I just found the FMC childish and immature and the MMC was boring.

I rarely ever find a chick-lit that I don't like. This was no different.

Honey and Guiseppe are made for each other and I love their personalities. They each carved their own space in this story.

Honey's personality hit us in the face from the first page and I love how unapologetic she is. Her confidence is sexy and I don't even hold her affinity for Valentine's Day against her.

I loved the balance in Guiseppe's personality. The repressed Jersey boy, the lawyer fighting his way to make partner and the brawler not afraid to use his mind or his fist.

What needed work was the pace and the length of the novel. Also, it's called Tease. I would have loved for us to have gotten more of the show because before we got to the end, I just thought Honey was a tease.

As for the insta-everything of it all, we could blame it on the moonshine but let's be honest, they did this song and dance for a year and all of a sudden he sees her as more than his pink parading neighbour who flirts with him as they exchange spaces in the elevator?

I would have liked to slow it down once they got started and I would have like to see some struggle with their exes. As promised. Emily was a bit more present but who knows where Francis was.

I adore The Girls and would have loved to get to know them better as friends and I wouldn't mind another drag party.

However, it's a solid body of work regardless. I was entertained. I definitely laughed and I love the fact that there was no ridiculous breakup. The sex was okay.

A strong message wrapped in a fun package

I read this book with a permanent smile on my face. It was fun, it was flirty. I loved the stoicism of Guiseppe and the sass of Honey. These two were a perfect antidote to each other. Add in an underlying theme of being true to yourself and not putting on an act to fit in and you have a bit of serious with the fun. Both Guiseppe and Honey dealt with prejudice either in or due to their work environment. I loved how strong Honey was and how Guiseppe stepped up to support her. Seemingly opposites that attract, the two lovebirds discovered that they shared more similarities than not. And Honey's sass - she has the ability to put anyone in their place. Loved it!

Adorable

This was absolutely adorable. Nothing crazy, dark, overly sexy, not too angsty. Just sweet, steamy, southern girl fun. Honey Dewberry is a sweet, funny, talented dancer from Georgia living in New York. She can charm her way out of any situation and anyone’s heart. Her neighbor is a tall, dark and Harvard grad lawyer from New Jersey. I don’t have to say anymore for you to imagine how much fun this is. I have never read anything from this author. This book was a suggestion. Thank you. My only small complaint is that there are some typos. The author might want to get another editor.

This was a great book!

I really enjoyed this book! Everything that happened was funny, sexy, and completely plausible! You know sometimes when you read romance books and you just have to roll your eyes at all of the unnecessary drama or the obviously stupid choices the hero or heroine makes? Didn’t happen at all in this book, it was a complete joy to read!

This is an ARC review. Light reference to 3 moments but no spoilers here.
Tease is the Valentine's story that warmed my heart and had me saying "awe." when I finished it this morning. From chapter 1, I was swept up into this romantic comedy from the opening line. Honey Dewberry (Pink) and Giuseppe Castiglione (Clark Kent) are adorable, funny, cute and sexy together. Also they are a well balnce couple. Guiseppe is a lawyer who goes by Jesse at his WASP law firm working towards becaming partner. Honey is a lady of leisure who performs in the evenings. A charming Georgia peach who does delights in word play banter that she is a master of. The two pass each other in the mornings in the hallway. The are neighbors who live across the hall from one another. The attraction is mutal on both sides. Both Honey and Jesse have a twist in their personal lives; It's a delivery case of Rose champange, invitation to evening party and a broken glass opens the door to a whole new world. Wait until Honey's Uncle Dicky moonshine comes out!! Ha Ha. Both Honey and Jesse are not what they present to others. I love Honey's charm, wit and her genuine sincerity and her circle of friends. Jesse is the tall silent sexy hardworking sometimes clueless superman. Tease is absolute delightful surprise and you won't be disappointed either. I love their friends, families gathering courtship and their HEA epilouge

I am pleasantly surprised about how this story truly unfolded. Honey AKA Albertha initially came off as being an air head, flighty, and flirty. Jesse AKA Giuseppe came off as prudish, snobby, and unapproachable. When you peeled back the layers to both of them, you will find they share a lot in common which make for a hot romance.

I have read several of Ms. Stevens’ book and was truly excited for the opportunity to read Tease. One, of the things I appreciate about this author, is her versatility. She writes books which are part of a series and she also excels at books which can stand-alone. What I didn’t expect is for the book to be this cute and this funny, even though it is described as a comedy! Honey (Alberta) and Jesse (Clark Kent/Giuseppe) are neighbors and have politely greeted each other in the hallway of their building for a year. He is a corporate lawyer, seeking a partnership at a law firm that doesn’t see his true worth and where he has to hide his true self, and she works nights and wears pink; we know her career is maybe off the beaten path we just don’t know how far off. They form an unlikely friendship as they both grapple with uncertainty in their respective love lives. Honey’s rich sugar daddy is stepping away from her and Jesse’s almost fiancée is back but she is taken. How these situations unfold was interesting and heartwarming. Honey and Jesse made an adorable couple. I was fearful once her career path was revealed that Jesse would misstep....but I had no need to worry. I love how the author gave us a COMPLETE story with a look into their families as well as a totally satisfying epilogue. As a reader, I couldn’t ask for anything more.
