People say he's a dangerous man.
Noah Knight.
A look from him can make you tremble,
And send ice running through your veins.

One minute I was locking up the diner.
The next I was fighting for my life.
Then I was in his arms.
Did he save me?
Or is this the beginning of something worse?

I want to trust him.
I want to do more than trust him.
But I'm being hunted and I don't know why.
Noah may be the only one who can keep me safe.

But what if he doesn't want to let me go?

This was such an exciting and fun read and I loved seeing Noah get his story as well, even if he known as the bad apple in town. I did not see his pairing with Charlie but once I started reading it and seeing their chemistry, there is no denying it. This is action-packed, with danger in the midst and some crazy hot amazing chemistry.

End of the line for me.

By far and away the worst book of the series for me.

First, I never liked Noah in the first two books and this book didn’t really do anything to warm me up to him. He also clearly states that he has a favorite daughter which I think is just being a horrible parent.

The worst was Charlie. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a heroine make more stupid decisions than she did. It was just one after the other and she eventually almost gets everyone killed and they all just forgive her? She was the absolute worst.

Noah pulled away from Charlie and had decided to ghost her. The only reason they got back together was because Charlie walked up and caught him leaving her place without knocking. Without that, he never would have heard from him again. Oh, what a great love.

The next book holds zero interest for me. Jake is gross and hops from woman to woman, sometimes changing his mind in who he want to sleep with in the same paragraph gross. Also, it looks like the next one might be a reverse age gap and that’s not my thing.

I’m calling it on this series, this book was painful and I have zero interest in the last two.

This is the third installment of Kelli Callahan Forbidden Encounters Book 3: The Convict.
☑Best Friend's Father
☑Forbidden
☑Age Trope
☑Teenager Crush
☑Second Chance Romance
This story is about Charlotte a.ka. Charlie Traverse who is The Chief of Police daughter Kenton Traverse and the town's notorious crime Lord Noah Knight who is also Abbie and Lucy's dad. Charlie is also best friends with both the girls. Chief Traverse is currently engaged to Lucy Noah's youngest nineteen year old daughter.
Charlie is a twenty two year old college student working at the local diner Denton's as a waitress to help pay off her student loans. She was working late alone one night when she was brutally attacked by a hooded figure. It was the fight of her life she didn't make it easy for him because her dad taught her how to defend herself. It was the predator versus the prey in one cat and mouse chase around the store. Noah was driving by and saw her car in the parking lot and found it strange because he knew that it was late and that part of town was bad and she shouldn't be there by herself. Upon investigation he saw the broken dishes scattered all around and the was locked. He unlocked the door and heard a blood curdling scream coming from the back the hooded figure was on top her with his hands around her throat. Noah jumped him and slam in the cabinet this is when he realized that it was ruthless Raul the most ruthless drug kingpin. In tussling with Raul Noah was stab in the chest.
Noah Knight Oak Valley notorious and fear crime Lord. He's involved in drugs trafficking, a former ex-convict. He has his fingers in a lot of things. He claims that he's reformed but he still traffic drugs. Charlie is being targeted by Raul and Noah is the only who help her. The reason why she's being targeted is because of her dad. Raul feels that Kenton destroyed his life and family so he's going to take away his. Noah and Charlie decides to in hiding until he can formulate a plan to get Raul to stop hunting Charlie because he knows that he won't stop until he have her. He took her to his cabin in the woods, just being around each other the two was drawn to each other. Charlie had always been attracted to Noah as a teenager. However, Noah was struggling with his attraction for her because he watched her grew up so he felt like he shouldn't have those feelings for her and he always thought that he was too old for her. Charlie knows that Noah will protect her because she have known him almost all her life, and he have always been there for her when she was younger. She just let what her dad say about him sway her but she now know that she was wrong after spending time with him. The two fell in love and Noah got his second at love with. He never knew that he would fall in love again after the death of his wife. What will Noah do when Charlie willing put herself in danger and go to Raul and Noah warns her and tell her that the is a sociopath? Subsequently endangering Lucy life as well? Will Noah and Charlie get their happy ending? Will Raul get his revenge on the Chief? This story was filled with violence, torture, action, and drama. I didn't like Charlie's character she was stupid and stubborn female that wilfully endanger other people's lives.

Great Book

Charlie finds herself alone at the diner she works at when a stranger comes in to attack and kill her. Her friend Lucy’s father (Noah) happens to be driving by, sees her car is still in the diner parking lot, and stops to investigate. What he finds is the attacker on top of Charlie choking her. Charlie tried to run even after being cut with the attacker’s knife. She tried to hide but the attacker found her. And that’s why he was choking her. Turns out the attacker, is a big drug dealer named Raul and he wants to kill Charlie because her father is Kenton, the Chief of Police. Kenton sent Raul to prison. When he gets out, he discovers that his wife (who he used to abuse) has left town with his daughter. Do Raul wants to kill Charlie so he knows what it’s like to lose your family. Although Noah is also a drug kingpin who knows Raul. And Noah’s youngest daughter, Lucy, is involved with Kenton. The story revolves the relationships between all of them along with Noah’s older daughter Abbie and his right hand man, Jake. There is a lot of action in the book along with violence. And the strong connection between Charlie and Noah is more than him saving her. They’re soulmates, not to mention their sexual chemistry. Don’t miss another exciting book by Kelli Callahan.

This book brings us Noah Knight and Charlie Traverse. Noah Knight is Lucy's father who has a notorious reputation as being a drug lord (past) and Charlie is a waitress and daughter of the Chief of Police Kenton Traverse, who is engaged to Noah's daughter Lucy. Complicated right!!! Charlie is violently attacked at her place of work, and Noah is the one to save her. She has no idea why someone would want to hurt her, however, Noah isn't so sure it was a random attack, so he takes her to his hideout to keep her safe. There feelings emerge. There are however, twists that I didn't see coming. This is a great read and I can't wait to find out about Jake's story. (Jake is Noah's right hand man). I highly recommend this series. I did receive an arc for an honest review.

Another wonderful read in this terrific older man younger woman series As always it is a perfect mix of suspense dram and red hot steamy romance This is the third nook in this series and I recommend that you at least read book two "The Officer" first As Noah is the father of Lucy in book 2 While Charlie is the daughter of Kenton

Most of her life Charlie has known Noah after all he is the father of her best friend Lucy so when Charlie is attacked at work and Noah steps in to help he has no worries about going with him to his safe house The only thing as that while they are there emotion start between them and soon they can't resist one another Who is after Charlie can Noah keep her safe and can she convince him that he is good enough for her even with his past.

Loved this book which Noah & Charlie's story is now my favourite. Charlie's day went from bad to worse, after arguing with her boss Harry at the diner she was then attacked by a psycho who was determined to kill her but was saved by Noah her best friend's dad. He knew the attacker Raul & knew he wouldn't give up until he'd killed her. Knowing her life was in danger he was determined to protect her during which they couldn't deny the hot sexual chemistry between them. This story had danger, tears, pain, anger but it was Noah's resentment of himself believing that he was no good for Charlie that she shouldn't love him because of his 'business' which almost cost him the love of his life.
Once I started I couldn't stop reading this & am loving Jake aswell.

I'm torn 3.7 stars

Other the " problem again this book was okay. Dont get me wrong i liked it but i just thought it would be so much different. I mean Noah is the Kingpin and I thought he would be more dominant in and outta the bedroom but nope. Charlie basically did all the leading especially in the bedroom. There wasn't near as many sexy scenes as the other books. The othwr books I feel like the chemistry from the characters came off the page. This book didn't have that. Also Lucy said it right, Charlie was acting like a dumb blonde for the last portion of the book and even some in the beginning. Its a good book but I'm a little disappointed.

Noah and Charlie come together under a horrific and scary circumstance. Charlie is Noah's daughter's best friend and when he comes to her rescue he realizes she needs his protection. Charlie has known Noah most of her life and trusts him to help her, but realizes she is feeling an attraction for the ex-drug kingpin. Noah's past makes him the perfect protector, but not necessarily the perfect mate However, in true Kelli Callahan fashion love wins in the end. Sexy, page-turning action and intrigue make this an entertaining read.

I thought that this was a really good book. Noah and Charlie finally get a book and they get a book together! I did not see what one coming! Noah finally gets his second chance a love. Charlie can be sassy and gets into trouble but at least she is willing to stand up for what she believes in. I really enjoyed the action, steam, suspense, love and the sweet HEA that this book had to offer. I would recommend this book and Ms. Kelli has a great author!

This is probably the worst book I’ve read from this author. I’ve enjoyed most of her books in the “daddy” series and others.

This was just badly written and not thought out. I mean…why weren’t the cops called? Why didn’t she go to the hospital? How is it that her hand or arm didn’t need stitches after multiple descriptive of blood being everywhere and her clothes being soaked…

There was no chemistry created between the characters. Just a disappointment.

Oh my, what a great book

I just gave off a big sigh, Noah and Charlie made such a great couple. Love knows nothing about age differences just like her father and Lucy. This story had love, intrigue, suspense and love (yes, I said it twice). Thanks for such an entertaining read. Written by Cindy :)

We now have Charlie (AKA Charlotte) and Noah's story. Plus this falls into one of my favorite tropes older man/younger woman (OM/YW)

I just loved reading their story full of twists and turns leaving you on the edge of your seat.

I cannot wait to see what Ms. Callahan has in store for us next.

I received an ARC of this story and this is my honest review.

This was a fun read. Noah and Charlie's story kept me engaged with a blend of suspense, danger, heat, action, drama, intensity and emotion. As a big fan of the age gap trope this book was definitely held lots of appeal for me and the twists and intrigue that had me feeling anxious were the frosting on the cake. I am posting an independent, impartial review.

Loved this book in this series! I love the older man/younger woman/best friends Dad trope.

I didn't think Noah could redeem himself in my eyes but I'm glad that I was wrong. When we found out his demons it completely broke my heart. Charlie was the perfect woman for him.

I can't wait for Jake's book next!

This book certainly didn't disappoint but you must read book 2 The officer to really understand the workings of this book.As Lucy is her best friend and Noah's daughter while Kenton is Charlie's dad and Lucy's partner.
Charlie is attacked while closing her diner job yet Noah manages to save her and with him knowing Charlies attacker makes sure that he protects her by taking her to a safe house. Yet neither of them can control the attraction they have for one another yet Charlie must help Noah overcome his hang up that he is no good for her in the end. Love how these past books are so intertwined and look forward to finding out just what happens to the Mountain Jake lol.

Don't waste your time.

I could barely finish this one. The heroine was utterly stupid! She had no safety awareness and constantly put herself and others in danger under the guise of being an "independent woman". She acted like a petulant child and was very unlikable. It didn't even deserve one star.

Great Storyline and Characters, But...

Editing needed. There's just so much wrong with the beginning of this story. The attack at the diner and then afterwards, back at his apartment. With the wounds they both had and the loss of blood? Then sayings like; "I'll swim across a frozen lake." Once past the first few chapters things improve.

This book was fun and exciting and keeps you guessing. Noah use to be a big time drug lord until he went to prison, Charlie is the chief of policy's daughter and when someone trys to kill her Noah steps in and saves her. Can she convince him he's good enough to have her?

A great age-gap romance. It was exciting, terrifying and wonderful. Charlie has a thing for her best friend’s dad. That’s ok because Lucy has a thing for Charlie’s dad. And if that’s not enough, Traverse( Charlie’s dad) has arrested Noah(Lucy’s dad) for being a crime lord. Noah has served his time and is back in the same small town they both grew up in.
This is a great story! I loved all the action and the steam between these characters. And in the basic middle of Everything, there is love. An HEA is had by all. Well, except for the bad guys.

Good read

Noah shows his weakness. However, don’t take his kindness for weakness. He is a force to be reckoned with. His love for his daughters and Claire makes him strong.

Garbage

A shaky premise that needs work. Editing would help greatly - I don't especially like when names are mixed up in a book.

This book is a no.
