Remembering 1971: On British Bangladeshis transmitting memories from the Bangladesh Liberation War

A Master's Thesis conducted at the School of African and Oriental Studies, University of London. The study looks at the methods of memory transmission of the 1971 Bangladesh War of Liberation between first, second and third generation Bangladeshis, with a focus on British Bangladeshis and how the retelling of the war affects British Bangladeshi identity. This is an ethnographic piece of research which was conducted over a period of seven months between February 2020 - August 2020.

Tasnim Rahman is a BA Sociology Graduate from Goldsmiths, University of London and MA Social Anthropology from SOAS. She is passionate about the youth and has spent a number of years working in Youth Services in East London. Tasnim has also completed an Extended Project Qualification on the torture of Guantanamo Bay detainees and prison officers transgressing the Geneva Conventions.
