I loved the film For a Few Dollars More with Clint Eastwood and Lee Van Cleef and had no idea it was a book series. Naturally, I assumed that the book came before the film and I was interested to see what had been left 0ut, as is normal for books to films. But in reading it I was only a few pages in when I realised that it was the film script word for word - so much so that I was seeing the movie play in my head while reading it. So I checked and the book is a novelisation of the film and was published after the film came out.

I enjoyed reading it, its been a few years since I've watched the film and there were some tidbits which I had forgotten. It's a faithful book to what happened in the film but it just doesn't compare to seeing Eastwood, Cleef and Volonte go up against each other on the big screen, with the music of Morricone taking over the atmosphere.

I thought this was a very good book and pretty faithful to the movie.

If there are any quibbles, they are minor. Such as, in the novel, the Man With No Name talks a lot more than he does in the movie. The author kept talking about opening and closing the cylinders on the revolvers, which is not accurate to the time period. BUT the author gets double points for having everyone reload their revolvers during gunfights; guns usually have unlimited ammo in the movies.

Overall I thought this was a very enjoyable book and I highly recommend it, especially to fans of the movie.

Segunda aventura del hombre sin nombre, pero esta vez lo hace acompañado.

Es igual de entretenida que la primer novelización, sin embargo, a nuestro protagonista le cambian dos aspectos que le distinguieron en su debut… bueno, esto si pensamos es el mismo hombre ya que el director Sergio Leone me parece siempre comentó que son distintos personajes, empero la cultura popular los ha vuelto el mismo.

Dichos cambios son que realiza una sociedad con otro caza recompensas mayor que él, y se pone de manifiesto la diferencia de edad cuando leemos que nuestro hombre sin nombre es impulsivo y hablador, cada quien puede decidir si esto fue para bien o para mal. Por mi parte debo decir me gustó la inclusión del coronel pues me mantuvo en tensión a lo largo de la historia.

La eliminación de una estrella fue por los diálogos y comportamiento muy exagerado del antagonista. Quien va a creer un bandido hablaría de esa manera.

Por otro lado, sintiéndolo mucho pero tras pensarlo, no se hubiera ahorrado todo esto si la chica en vez de dispararse a sí misma le hubiera volado la tapa de los sesos al infeliz mientras la violaba?

From a fantastic film to a fantastic book. It is a true masterpiece. From having seen the film at least 100 times you can hear the actors voices whenever the characters are speaking it's simply brilliant

Quite a good adaptation of the film.I was well into Westerns when I was about 14 and 15 years old(especially spaghetti westerns).This author wrote a few other novels which were not a part of 'The man with no name films'.
