The author, a veterinarian, tells an intriguing story about a small town filled with characters that you feel like you know. The connections and relationships pull you right into this community down under as you discover finding a diagnosis for “who dun it” isn’t always a clear or easy case work-up. Even before the story was over I knew I was going to miss these people. But I’m glad I met them in this mystery that is sprinkled with some real life veterinary medicine background. Fun book!
When I saw this book I didn't know how I would like it . But the idea of a veterinarian caught my attention and I wanted to read more. Then you realize you're in another country and that adds a whole new perspective. I like the book a lot. It's a good mystery and if you read for the enjoyment of reading and not to figure out all the twists and turns before you get there then this is a really good read.
I was expecting a book about the adventures of a vet, and not expecting a psychological murder thriller. I had mixed feelings about the book - I liked it enough to read it all, but I didn't find any of the characters particularly likeable. And I kept hoping for more "vet" or horse stuff.
