Have you ever seen a fireman who’s so insanely sexy you’d actually consider DIY-ing a little at-home arson just so he’d show up at your front door?

Dramatic, I know, but hear me out.

Chiseled hot body, bright blue eyes, and the sexiest smile I’ve ever seen—the first time I saw Garrett Alexander in my exam room, it took everything inside me not to do something crazy like mount him during his yearly physical.

Not only is he a total babe, but he’s charming, hilarious, and the kind of single dad that would make your ovaries explode—the total freaking package.

I know you’re probably wondering, What in the heck are you waiting for, girl? Go get yourself a fireman!

But, see, there’s one teeny-tiny (read: huge) problem—if we got together, we’d have to keep our relationship a secret.

I know. Who even am I? Some heroine in a freaking forbidden romance novel?

Let me guess, now you’re probably thinking...Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. Don’t do it, girl. Don’t fall for the sexy, off-limits man. It’s not worth it.

Well, too late. I already went and did it.

And I have a feeling this fire of ours is going to go up in a big, mushroom-cloud-worthy, ball of figurative smoke.

this was okay? Idk, I feel generous for giving it 3 stars.
It wasn't memorable, but was entertainig.

𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑰 𝒅𝒊𝒅𝒏'𝒕 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒊𝒕:

-I hated that they met in a medical appointment (she's his doctor) Some people will find this funny, for me was weird.

- avoiding that beginning, the story got a lot better, but after the 60% was boring and simple, in an annoying way.

- the sex scenes made me roll my eyes. Is it too much to ask for realistic scenes?

- the drama / conflict was silly, predictable? I understand the concern of telling Lauren's dad that she and Garret were dating, but god!! we're talking about two adults, not teenagers.

WHAT IS HOT STUFF ABOUT?
Well, in order to tell you this, we feel like we have to tell you a little story. Because, see, Hot Stuff is about a lot of things, including a hot single dad firefighter, his hilarious kids, a strong, kick*ss heroine with best friend vibes, and the sexy secret romance they find together.

BUT. It’s also got a scene that started with a bet between Max and Monroe, and you’re not going to want to miss it.

While writing HOT STUFF, Monroe dared Max to reference the movie Grease in a specific chapter.

BUT, here’s the kicker: The reference HAD to revolve around the...*ahem*...male member.

YOU GUYS, MAX DID NOT DISAPPOINT. CHECK OUT THE EXCERPT BELOW...

“That’s it, baby,” he says supportively, a playful smile making his frost-colored blue eyes dance in the overhead light. “Take control. Show me who’s boss.”

“Shh,” I command, smiling against his skin right beside his hip bone and skating my hand up the inside of his thigh.

He shivers, and I take the base of him in the palm of my hand. It’s heavy and thick, and it makes me feel a little like a Grease-inspired porn star—hopelessly devoted to c0ck.

But seriously, it’s so perfectly shaped, so well-endowed without being scary; it makes me want to make it a sandwich and pour it a glass of milk and bake it some cookies and shit.

This is the kind of d*ck you take care of. You write sonnets about.

This book didn’t do it for me and normally all of Max Monroe’s books are more than a 4 stars.

It had the perfect elements for a rom/com but the topic of Garrett leaving Lauren for big chunks of time because of his work, dragged through the whole entire book.
It made it repetitive and sometimes hard to continue reading.
Apart from that, nothing else grand happened...

Lauren + Garrett.
We already met sexy divorced dad Garrett as Jake's best buddy in the first book.
He's busy being a firefighter and keeping his 12-year-old twins happy.
Enter Lauren. She used to live in New York, but now she's back in San Diego. She's a doctor. And she's also a somewhat forbidden fruit ... she's the daughter of Garrett's captain. LOL!

LET THE FUN TIMES BEGIN!

JUST ADORABLE!!!

I loved this!
Such a sweet and funny romance!
I just adore daddy Garrett. He's so sweet with his kids and he's so adorable as a newly single guy back in the dating world after almost two decades. And poor Lauren is not very date-experienced either. Those two just belong together.
His kids are just the best! 12 going on 30! I adored them!
And I loved that we got to see more of Jake and Holley too - hilarious!

What more can I say? READ IT!
This was the perfect SoCal RomCom!
I adored all the people and happenings!

I also loved the little extra epilogue - introducing us to the next book's hero Rhett - a sexy single GRUMPY COWBOY- coming 22 May!

Also ... how are none of Max Monroe's books streaming their behinds off on Netflix yet? The world is a weird and sad place!!

HOT STUFF was such a funny & adorable romance! Hurry to your nearest amazon for your own Garrett - he'll be sold out in no time!!!

A tiny little thing that bothered me a bit ... the inner dialogue is too much. Too long and too often. I sometimes wanted to fast forward to conversations. It's just a bit too much thinking and ridiculous blablabla-ing. It needs to be funnier/crazier/more ridiculous for the amount of time they spend talking to themselves.☺

What a fun ride of a book! Whenever I am in the mood for funny rom-coms, I turn to Max Monroe. This duo's books are always fresh.
If you're on the lookout for a really funny, somewhat steamy, romantic and relaxing novel, Hot Stuff would be a good fit for you.
The book follows the story of Garrett and Lauren. He is a single dad of twins, hot firefighter and good guy all around. She is a beautiful doctor, the youngest daughter of Garrett's boss. They have great chemistry, the drama is low as they try to navigate a relationship where he is out on calls a lot of the time and she insists on keeping they relationship secret and their inner monologues are super funny. Also, the banter is really cute.
Garrett is very relatable as a single dad. His kids are hilarious and his parenting concerns are real.
Where I cue in the "eye roll" is at them having the most incredible sex ever (you know the kind, where at least 3 orgasms is the bare minimum). I wish romance novels made this a bit more realistic. Other than that and Lauren taking too long in the beginning to work up the courage to date Garrett, this book was really entertaining.

I really, really loved this book!! I've been wanting more of Garrett ever since we were first introduced to him in Single Dad Seeks Juliet, and he did not disappoint!! This was a truly refreshing, hilarious, adorable romance that kept a smile on my face the entire time!

Garrett is a single dad to two amazing children, whom he loves more than life itself. He feels guilty about not seeing them as much as he would like since divorcing their mother, but between always making sure his kids have everything they need, plus being a fireman, his hands are full. And he's definitely not looking for love again.

Lauren has her hands full as well (especially during their first meeting😉) being a doctor and taking care of her widowed father and making sure her sisters have all the help she can offer (since their husbands are utterly useless.) She's awkward, adorable, shy and flirty, and usually says the first thing on her mind.. And can't help but feel an immediate attraction to Garrett. After a few times hanging out with one another, they finally go out on a date despite the slight taboo hanging over their shoulders (her dad is his boss.) They share an absolutely adorable, perfect, swoony first date that is just so them. They not only end the date closer than ever, but with a new companion -- Frank the fish!!

Their story was really low on the angst even though there was some drama present-- but it's definitely not over the top. I loved the way Lauren humanized Garretts ex wife, the bond she had with his kids, and how just beautiful their relationship was. Plus this is seriously one of their funniest books of all time!!

The only two complaints i had was sometimes the spacing felt extremely off, and the fade to black love scenes. These two can do sexy like no other, so I found it odd that they skipped over that every single time, especially their first night together. Other than that though, this is the perfect rom com!!

*************************************
This is hands down the cutest, funniest, swooniest (I think I just made a new word) book these ladies have ever written. I had a smile on my face the entire time and I genuinely could not stop laughing! Plus, Frank the fish, amirite? *infinite swoon*

Fate and A Handful of Balls
One sexy, single fireman...YES PLEASE! Banter and humor will be in abundance as this single dad gets a shot at a second chance at love.

Garrett is a recently divorced, single dad. It’s been a year, but he hasn’t put himself out there to date. When fate keeps throwing the same woman into his path and he can’t get her out of his head, he takes it as a sign.

Lauren has spent her adult life in school and honing her craft as a doctor. She moved back to her home town, but she keeps to herself. She enjoys a nice quiet life. However, when a sexy patient keeps popping up, she’s ready to embrace her wild side.

New relationships are fun and exciting, but theirs has it’s challenges. He’s a firefighter who works whenever duty calls. Sometimes he’s gone for a day or it could be a week. Oh yeah and his boss happens to Lauren’s father who has sworn her off firefighters. Not to mention Garrett’s almost teens.

Life is messy, but there is beauty in chaos.

Lauren didn’t expect to find love. And Garrett never knew love could be like this. They are silly and fun as they get to know each other. Sweet moments to be cherished when time is limited. They make the most of their time and it’s true romance. Their chemistry is undeniable. And I must give honorable mention to Fat Frank and Captain Jimmy for the laughs.

This was a great read with some drama, emotion and a whole lot of laughs. 4.5 Stars!

On Thanksgiving, the last person Lauren expects to show up to her dad’s house is the super hot firefighter patient, Garrett, she made a fool of herself in front of. The same guy who shamelessly flirted with her while she was man-handling his jewels. And it just so happens that Garrett works for her dad at the local firehouse.

Despite their awkward encounters, there’s definite chemistry between Garrett and Lauren. And even though Garrett works for her dad, he asks Lauren out. The two of them start dating, but don’t come clean to Lauren’s dad. Because of the nature of Garrett’s job, he’s constantly gone fighting fires, which is one of the reasons Garrett got divorced. He’s forced to leave his 12-year old twins & Lauren on a moment’s notice.

Lauren isn’t used to giving her heart out freely. And when she finally does, it’s to a man who will be constantly in and out of her life. Lauren doesn’t know if she can live the same life her mom did—the life of loving a firefighter. But her heart may not give her much of a choice...

Hot Stuff by Max Monroe is book 2 in the Single Dad Collection. We’re introduced to Garrett in Single Dad Seeks Juliet (he’s Jake’s best friend) and we see Garrett’s on-the-rocks marriage come to an end. I was so excited to see him get his own book! His meet cute with Lauren was both hilarious and charming. I really enjoyed their romance, especially the aspect of Garrett being a firefighter and the reality of him constantly leaving, which is something I can relate to as a military spouse. I wouldn’t say I quite enjoyed this as much as I did Single Dad Seeks Juliet, but Lauren and Garrett’s romance was so much fun! And who can resist a hot single dad who’s also a firefighter? Not me, that’s for sure! 4/5 stars.

Because I am a super fan of all the Max Monroe books it actually pains me to say this book is barely a 4 star for me. I am not certain what happened during the writing of this book but it seems to me like a novice author helped out with the early part of the book. There were just some lines that seemed elementary to me and a bit hokey or cheesy, which isn’t the norm for their books.

It got better the further into the book I got. Always entertaining and funny and it was sexy but not quite the normal level of sexiness.

I loved the other characters. Some were from a previous Max Monroe book and then Garrett’s kids were fun. Of course I’m pretty sure Fat Frank stole the show.

I adored this book! Out of the three books I’ve read by this author duo, this one is by far my favorite of the bunch.

The meet cute was hilarious, and that first date! *sighs dreamily* The moment the hero was willing to ditch a fancy dinner in favor of visiting a pet store, and then proceeded to buy the heroine a pet fish, I was sold!

The audio narrators did a fantastic job, and I found myself laughing out loud multiple times, which isn’t common for me even with romcoms. The side characters also added so much to the story, and now I want to go back to book 1 and read Jake and Holley’s story!

Hot, single dad, firefighter. Yeah, Dr. Lauren did not stand a chance keeping herself away from Garrett with all those delicious things staring her in the face. Plus he's sweet to boot. The only problem? Her dad is his fire captain...Ooooops!

There is no way I could not love Hot Stuff. Sure, it's fun and witty, sweet and sexy, but that's just standard Max Monroe. Hot Stuff is even better than their usual excellent rom-com fare because Lauren and Garrett are so adorable but in a real way, not sitcommy or ott, just sweet and seriously hot together. Add in his equally adorable twin pre-teens, and cameos from Jake and Holley (Single Dad Seeks Juliet), and this ended up being a fabulous rom-com, even more extra fabulous than the typical excellent Max Monroe story.

When reading a Max Monroe book, it is a guarantee that I will be laughing out loud numerous times throughout the course of the book and Hot Stuff is no different. From page one and the first meeting between Garrett and Lauren I was dying and it only got better from there.

Garrett is a single father and has been divorced for the past year, he is a also a firefighter. He is loving, caring and hardworking in both his career and with his twin children. Lauren is a doctor, she has worked hard to get where she is in her career and is finally back in California with her family after spending years in New York. Neither one was looking for a relationship and Lauren wasn’t looking for a firefighter, her dad is a Fire Captain and she knows all the hardships that come along with the job. Her father also happens to be Garrett’s captain, which can create some problems.

Garrett and Lauren’s first meeting was hilarious, but their first date was hands down the best thing ever! It was fun and different and awkward and adorable and so much perfection, especially for these two characters. The chemistry between Lauren and Garrett is off the charts and the banter is absolutely fantastic! On a side note, the friendship between Lauren and Holley is complete goals and all sorts of awkward and I want to be a part of it!

If you’re looking for a single father, firefighter, rom com this is one to read! I guarantee TONS of laughter.

I am the biggest Max Monroe fan ever! Why? Because every single one of their books makes me laugh, sometimes cry but I definitely fall in love with the characters. Even though it’s a story they keep it so real with the language and are in the now with the trends. Every time I finish one of their books, I of course want more and I’m in such a good mood.

Lauren and Garrett were perfect from the first ball grab. Although Frank the fish did seal the deal. She’s a doctor and he’s a firefighter. Her dad is also his boss. They tried to hide their love but it was just so consuming it spilled out. His kids love her and she loves them. It was like they were meant to be before they met.

I loved that Jake, Holley and Chloe were apart of this book just like Garrett was in Single Dad Seeks Juliet.

You can never go wrong with a book by the writing duo Max Monroe. Trust me on that! In Hot Stuff we get a laugh out loud and totally fun read. Garrett and Lauren had such a delightfully entertaining meet-cute. I just loved Garrett. He loves his children and always puts them first. He is recently divorced, a firefighter, and he does not have time for love. Lauren is a doctor trying to find her new normal after returning home. Neither saw the other coming and yet they shared amazing chemistry and connection. Their journey was fun, delightful and I had a smile on my face the entire time I was reading.

3.5-3.75 stars. This was a cute book! Hot Stuff is Lauren and Garrett's story. Lauren is a general practitioner doctor. Garrett was introduced in Single Dad Seeks Juliet as the best friend of the hero. He is a hot firefighter, recently divorced and a single dad with two tween kids. He meets Lauren when he comes into her medical practice for a checkup. They are attracted to each other but nothing happens. Later, Lauren's father, the fire chief, invites Garrett for Thanksgiving at their house, since it is his first holiday alone without his kids. They still feel an attraction and soon begin a relationship.

I enjoyed this book. The story was fun. I liked both Garrett and Lauren. I did think they had low chemistry and the book was low heat in general. I also thought there were some cheesy moments, but overall, this was an entertaining, light and easy read. There were no big break ups or misunderstandings. There was a low angst, cute and sweet couple. I did wonder why there was no mention of possible future kids as I thought that might be a conflict at some point, with Garrett having olderish kids already and who knows if he wanted to start over.

Overall, this was a light, easy read. I look forward to more from Max Monroe in the future!

This hero has got to be one of the sweetest, swooniest guys I have ever read about - period. I've been looking forward to his love story since Single Dad Seeks Juliet, and Garrett did not disappoint. The pacing, however? Kinda did. I was a little thrown off by the pacing in this one (with its time jumps one minute then a rushed relationship the next), which took away from the reading experience. My standards for this writing duo's work are very high though, so this is still head and shoulders above many of the rom coms out there. It's exceedingly low angst, funny, and sweet, and the storyline felt fresh. Plus, that meet cute is 100% original. So, while not one of my favorites from the authors, it's still a solid read.

The story follows Garrett, a sexy/sweet firefighter who is just finding himself again after a divorce. He's a loving, kind father to his two kids and a genuinely good guy. When Garrett meets Lauren, the doctor in charge of his yearly exam, there's an instant spark of attraction. She may have handled the goods during their first interaction (in a purely professional way, of course), but it's not until they've run into each other a few times that Garrett asks her out. Lauren quickly becomes smitten with the sexy single dad, but keeping the spark alive when his unpredictable work schedule takes him away for days at a time is more complicated... especially since she knows all about that lifestyle because of her dad - also known as Garrett's boss.

I always look forward to this writing duo's rom coms, because I know I'm in for a good time. This is light, funny, and a little bit sexy, with plenty of playfulness. I loved the low angst feel and I really loved Garrett. The storyline also kept me on my toes, because I haven't read one quite like it before. Though, the storyline was also part of what kept me feeling disconnected. While this felt like instalove to me in a lot of ways, there were also weird time jumps and a sort of "glossed over" feel at times. For example: their first steamy scene fades to black, and I know these authors don't shy away from the heat. Not experiencing some of the more important moments between these two left me feeling detached from their love story, and all of the bumps in the road made that feeling stronger. I still liked a lot of it and enjoyed the book overall, but there were more things that bugged me than usual. I'm looking forward to seeing where this series heads next - the title tease we get in this is very intriguing. I received an early copy and am voluntarily leaving a review of this single dad romance.

One of the best things about reading a Max Monroe book is the certainty that you are going to love it. Hot Stuff features sexy fireman and real life hero Garrett Alexander and Dr. Lauren Carroll. Love that they met by chance as she was the physician doing his annual exam. So funny!

I love that they were older and he was a charming single dad of pre-teens who added so much humor and reality to the story. Love the very relatable situation with his ex-wife and how he handled the situation with maturity and class. Love what a great dad he was and how he let his children’s personalities shine through while making them feel secure in the fact that he was there for them and they were loved. First responder Garrett Alexander is the most perfect book-, I wish he were real, boyfriend ever!

Lauren was so kind and nurturing, sensual and sweet, and I admired how she understood Garrett’s job demands as her dad was not only a former firefighter, but is now the Fire Chief and Garrett’s boss! She was a well-educated woman who was independent and devoted to her family too. Love how she stood up to her dad and supporter her sister knowing she deserved better.

Garrett and Lauren both dedicated their careers to helping others and were just so in sync with one another. Their chemistry was super hot...this was NOT a slow burn as they just couldn’t keep their hands off each other from their very first date! Even though work called him away for days, they sure made the most of their time together and I loved how they had such a well-balanced life and family came first. I even loved her fish, Frank!

Max Monroe always write characters I want to be friends with in real life and I am so glad we got to revisit Jake and Holley, friends of Garrett and Lauren, who were featured in Single Dad Seeks Juliet, another single dad rom-com which I LOVED! Hot Stuff is pure flirty fun, a feel good romance with lots of heart and adventures! If you read this, and you should, you’ll be treated to a bonus epilogue introducing a sexy Southern, Rhett. Can’t wait to read more!

It’s always a good day when this duo of authors releases a new Rom-Com. Throw in a fire fighter, and the ante is definitely upped. To be honest, I didn’t know what to expect from Lauren and Garrett. All I basically knew was ‘Hot Stuff ‘ was a Rom-Com that featured a ridiculously hot/ single father firefighter, and now that I read this hilarious book in 5 hours I am glad to to report that Hot Stuff lived up to my expectations from Max Monroe.

Let me start off by saying I am a huge fan of the age group of both the Hero and Heroine. Even though this is a Rom-Com, I didn’t feel an ounce of immaturity from the characters or the storyline. Max Monroe took a trope and made it their own by some great world building. Considering the timeline of the overall story was a rather short one, ‘Hot Stuff’ was a fully developed story that never felt rushed. There was enough depth that made this story feel even more realistic than just your ordinary fictional Rom-Com. The wittiness and the unordinary characters made for some great dialogue. It was amazing to see the characters act not so perfect, and them be okay with it. As for Romantic part of this story, I was a fan of what worked for THEM, even if it was unusual. It made the chemistry even more appealing because again, they wasn’t afraid to be themselves. They had a connection that was easily felt.

Overall, Hot Stuff was an hilarious book that featured Garrett and Lauren, but also some amazing side characters (some past and some totally present).

**** I recommend this book.

"This book had me laughing so much! Max Monroe really know how to deliver the comedic goodness along with an awesome story full of characters who come to life. Garrett and Lauren's love story is messy, but their chemistry is on fire. This is such a fun, hot read. I loved it!
" ~Andrea

"You know it’s going to be a good day when a Max Monroe book is ready to grace your kindle, I can’t get enough of these two fabulous ladies. Add a sexy firefighting single dad to the mix, I’m a goner.
Garrett, recently divorced single dad with two fabulous kids that keep him on his toes, Sarah and Hayden were hilarious. He hasn’t dated in a year, with his busy job and trying to see his kids as much as he can, just doesn’t have the time. That is until he meets Dr. Lauren, not the usual way to meet someone when asks you to turn your head and cough.
Dr. Lauren, she has recently relocated to her home town to work at local medical practice. The day she meets Garret for his yearly physical she can’t seem to get him out of her mind. Then boom, he shows up at her family Thanksgiving. I love the instant attraction they have for one another, and the relationship she builds with his kids, and even his ex-wife.
Get lost in sweet and sexy love story of Garrett and Lauren, you will laugh out loud and need a drink of cool water handy for the heat these two have for each other.

Hot Stuff is my new favorite single dad romance.

Lauren is as sassy, sweet, and if there was an award for “Most Awkward” heroine she would win it hands down. She was settled and happy with her career and her life but then she she met The Garrett Alexander and realized that he was the piece she hadn’t realized was missing,

Garrett is a blend of cocky, swoony, and his own brand of awkward in other words he words he’s PERFECTION. The hot fireman was a bonus to the man under the turnout gear because he had an amazing sense of humor, a kind soul, and above all a devoted father.

Garett and Lauren’s “meet cute” is more of a “meet turn your head and cough” that’s charged with electrifying chemistry. They effortlessly start off with a fun flirty witty banter and the ease of their interactions start off makes it clear that they are made for one another; they were 2 awkward halves that brought peace to one another’s soul.

The storyline is heartwarming and will bring countless smiles to your face. The characters are so easy to love with the realness Max Monroe brings out of every character they write. The secondary characters add extra levels of entertainment to the pages and oh, how I hope we will get the kids’ stories one day because I feel like Sarah and Chloe will be masters at bringing a man to their knees while also causing their fathers minor heart attacks.

Hot Stuff is a vitalizing blend of spirited chemistry, witty banter, and sprinkles of feels, a quintessential laugh out loud feel good romance.

Whew...If you need someone to fan the flames, Garrett is the hot single firefighter dad for you! Hot Stuff by Max Monroe was a fun, hilarious, and oh so swoon-worthy! I loved everything about this Single Dad romcom! They are a one click author for me every time!

Garrett is recently divorced and has twins 12 year olds, Hayden and Sarah. He is a firefighter, and is finally ready to put himself back out there. He meets Dr. Lauren and a routine visit to the doctor, and there is instant attraction. However for certain seasons if these two want to date, they will have to keep their relationship a secret. After a while they have to let that secret out, or it could all go up in flames!

Max Monroe always know how to bring the laughs, and bring the steam! These women just know how to the best character interactions. This book is a stand alone, but a part of their single dad series they are writing. With that being said, I love how characters from previous books show up and make the plot that much more fun and intriguing. Hot Stuff is not to be missed! You will laugh; you will swoon; and you will fall in love with Garrett and Lauren's story! I am looking forward to much much more from these ladies. They always know how to make me smile!

Instant sparks

Garrett Alexander & Lauren Carroll, book two in the single dad series. Garrett is a firefighter, divorced dad of twin 12 yr old Hayden & Sarah. He meets Dr. Lauren during his annual physical, which is fascinating in itself.
Lauren has recently moved back home after being in NY for her residency & internship. They meet again when Garrett is invited to Thanksgiving dinner by her dad, his captain. Lauren agrees to a date, provided they NOT tell her dad.

Secret relationships, angry exes, moody teens, noisy friends & family all add to the fun as well.

I’m really intrigued to read the broody single dad cowboy story next.

Another great book!

I love Max Monroe books so much! I have to say the billionaire books have a little more comedy to them than this one did though. To me this was more of a sweet book with alot of inner monologue. Even without so much humor this was still a great book though!

HOT FIREMAN!!! Have I got your attention? I debated whether or not to even include a synopsis of of the book in my review because why would you even need one? You should be sold on the hot fireman premise alone! But I'll keep it simple. :)

When Dr. Lauren Carroll walks into her next patient's exam room, she is surprised to find a charming and hot fireman waiting for his physical. Their first encounter is very interesting, to say the least! They run into each other again months later and Garrett (aka hot fireman) asks Lauren out on a date. Thus begins their very fast paced and steamy romance.

Before I read Single Dad Seeks Juliet (the first book in the Single Dad Collection by Max Monroe), I never thought the single dad trope would be something I would be into. I loved that book and now I have realized that I dig single dads. There is something so sexy about a man who goes above and beyond to take care of his children.

I was excited to jump into Garrett's story since we got to know him in Single Dad Seeks Juliet. I knew from that story that his marriage was circling the drain and this book picks up a year after his divorce. Garrett was a charming and kind real-life hero who was also easy on the eyes. There was no way that Lauren wasn't going to fall for him fast. I loved the first scene of this book! As soon as I realized how it would play out, I was rubbing my hands together and thinking "Ohhhh, this is going to be good!" Garrett and Lauren's chemistry was off the charts so it was only a matter of time that they give in and start dating. From their first date, they took a fast track to a serious relationship and I loved every second of it.

Their romance was forbidden because Lauren is Garrett's captain's daughter. He has made it very clear that nobody is good enough for her, including the men in his firehouse. They date in secret at Lauren's insistence even though Garrett wants to come clean to her father. When things come to a head, Garrett handles the situation with grace.

This is a fun, flirty, and heart warming feel-good romance that had me laughing out loud. Max Monroe are a kooky pair who think up the funniest situations and lines and I love them!

Steam level: 🔥🔥🔥
⚠️: mention of multiple sclerosis and death of a parent.

I received a complimentary eARC of this book at the time of publishing. This updated review is based on a re-read of the book via audiobook.

4.5 stars!

Sometimes I just want to read a fun, feel-good romance and Hot Stuff is just what I needed. It has fantastic forbidden romance vibes going on when a firefighter dates the boss’s daughter, and what follows is a heartwarming love story that effortlessly blends laughs, feels, and love.

Garrett and Lauren are a wonderful combination of sugar and spice with all the swoon thrown into the mix. Garrett is a sweet single father who can make you fall in love with him with a single interaction. He has a heart of gold and he gives his all to his kids. I adored him. Lauren is also a wonderful character. She’s smart, funny, and a bit awkward but so likable and a total hoot. She’s genuine and confident, and I could help but love her too.

Getting to know each other was delightful and natural even though it was a bit quick. They bring out the best in each other and have such a sweet connection. I felt the fear of getting involved with a fireman and the thoughts that Garrett also had about his profession. However, growing up with a firefighter as a dad, I love that Lauren knows what she was getting into.

I really enjoyed Garrett and Lauren and appreciate that there is very little drama and a whole lot of fun when these two get together. This couple is one that just makes sense and I was giddy while reading!

I adore single parent romances because they give us an opportunity to read about some fantastic kids and Sarah and Hayden are wonderful characters. They are a special part of the book and I love their personalities and how different they are. I also loved getting more of Jake and Holley from Single Dad Seeks Juliet , and can’t wait for more.

I have to add that there is also an extended epilogue that not only is the perfect ending to Hot Stuff but the perfect setup for the next book, Grumpy Cowboy! I can't wait to get my grabby little hands on Rhett Jameson, coming May 22, 2021!

If you’re like me and you read Single dad seeks Juliet, you were eagerly waiting for Garrett’s book. Garrett exceeded my expectations!

Garrett is an extremely swoony fire fighter. He’s our easy going, extremely charming single dad. He instantly finds himself enamored by “Dr. Lauren”.

Lauren is our single doctor character, who is also the daughter of Garrett’s Captain. Which defiantly makes for an interesting dynamic. Lauren was so much fun, I laughed out loud so many times that she was with Garrett... the petco date was so hilarious! I love they MaxMonroe tends to make realistic choices woman who aren’t always perfect... their clumsy, emotional and quirky!

Garrett is fresh out of a Divorce with Bethany. He meets Lauren... while needed to get his yearly physical... and sparks instantly fly! Their relationship isn’t always easy, and Lauren and Garrett have to learn what they are willing to put up with/ and go through in order to be together.

If you want a swoony laugh out loud RomCom... this is defiantly the book for you!
