After her father died, Lena was left all alone in a men's world, suffering at the hands of an abusive church Minister. Then, one day, her life was saved by a very familiar Demon...Or was her that saved him?
I technically haven’t finished “reading” this because it’s not finished yet on WEBTOON but I figured this is a good way to remind me in the future to check in for more updates because damn... monster romance might be a new favorite of mine. 😂
As this is still a WIP I can't possibly rate it fairly. So far I've read up through Ep #64 (all that is currently available)
The art work...the ART 😘🤌 10/10 The storyline is dragging a little, but it's captured my interest enough to keep going. It may have more to do with the fact that English is my mother tongue; whereas it isn't for the author, and it is noticeable.
The art is genuinely mesmerizing — the style is so beautiful and unique, I was blown away over and over again. Sometimes I just stopped reading to stare at the sheer beauty of it!
About the story: I’m not a fan of insta-love, and I struggled to connect with the main characters. And after 30 chapters, I still feel like we have almost no answers about the plot — it feels a bit like being stuck in a loop. Most of it focuses on Lena’s self-doubt and Rain’s complete devotion to her, and for me, the emotional tension just isn’t there.
I also checked out the 18+ side stories — and even though they’re drawn by a woman, they still felt surprisingly male-gaze to me.
In the end, this story simply isn’t the right fit for me, so I won’t wait for the next chapters to be published. But I can definitely see why many readers are enjoying it.
part of me is grossed out, part of me loves it *shrugs* not normally a fan of black and white comics, but this is gorgeous! cannot wait for moreeee! *18+ violent imagery and themes*
┕☽The art style is so magnetic and beautiful. I can't stop appreciating it. 🥹
┕☽Rain is hot as hell. 🌝🖤
But...
┕☽The pacing is way too slow for me. Way too slow.
┕☽Maybe it's a me problem since I'm not really a fan of instalove...?
┕☽Mr. Iraj is the only sensible and smart character in this book.
┕☽In most conflicts, Lena does the stupidest thing and reacts out of pure emotions. *facepalms most of the time I'm reading this book* PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER, LENA, AND USE YOUR HEAD. Examples: 1. When she got mad at Rain for not killing Father Bouquet 💐 , not considering that Rain might have some traumas of his own. Thus, he can't kill people just bc he was ordered to by Lena. 2. When her friends try to understand and help her, she lashes out, leaving her sketchbook in the church. 3. When Rain gets stabbed in the shoulder by Father Bouquet 💐 , instead of trying to stay calm and be rational to save Rain, she keeps whining and crying and blaming herself yadadada. Gurl, before you do that shit, save Rain first, find a healer, and THINK. You're wasting your time.
┕☽The pacing is so slow 😔 It's just Lena and Rain going back and forth without proper communication. If there is one, Rain usually flies away when they argue. Throughout reading this, I expected Lena to learn more about the book (given by Mr. Iraj) that might cure Rain's curse. I was also hoping to learn more about her past or witchcraft.
Atnomen is another of my all time favorite comics that I'm currently reading! The art style is so unique! Normally color is something that's something that draws me to comics, so reading something thats totally in black and white like this was very different for me but I really love it! The art is so expressive and it feels like you can really FEEL the things going on in this comic!
Aside from the art, the story is so beautiful! Even though it's still kind of just starting out, I already feel so attached to the main two characters! I like their relationship so far and I'm very intrigued by the world setting. Definitely looking forward to seeing how the story develops in the future!
Currently at Part 13. This webtoon updates every 15 days.
I'm in love with this story and its characters. Love the art style as well, a heavy bulky sketch-like style that works flawlessly for the theme.
Will pick it up again after a few more chapter updates. Hope I don't lose interest in this one... I don't get why I do this to myself? Pick up something that is deliciously good and still ongoing, just for me to wait for an update! Ugh!
If you enjoy sexy gargoyles and cheesy love stories I guess this is it. The dialogue is a bit painful at times, but the art is amazing. So far enjoyable, will wait for future episodes.
Very good so far. Gargoyle protecting a human girl from a corrupted pastor and from abuse. I'm marking as read, but I'll continue reading as installments come out.
I haven't technically finished it yet, it just started again with the chapters/episodes today but it's amazing so far. One of my favorite webtoons. I wish it got more recognition :0
