High Stakes Holiday was a pleasant surprise! It's always a pleasure to catch up with the Las Vegas crew. Asha and King have a new baby on the way, Ace and Cree are trying to have a baby, and Trei was finally able to lock Zora down. I would love a follow-up on Ace and Cree to see if she had the reversal and if she was actually able to get pregnant. I love these characters so much. I am waaaaaay too invested in them. High Stakes Holiday was the update we needed at the perfect time.

Great follow-up. Loved catching up with these couples. Kingston and Asha are still my favorite! 😊 Hope that we get more from these couples, as I would love to see how things turn out with Alicia.

So Christina C Jones was one of my favorite new to me authors of ... 2020 I think? [Time has no meaning anymore...]
But I've read (and re-read) the vast majority of her books in audiobooks.

I've read two of her shorts in text, and have noticed there are always typos, incorrect words, etc. :\

I don't know if this one it's "just" because it was a short and more "whatever" to CJC but ... yeah.

So. I'm kinda wondering what/if I can/should recommend ...

BUT! I really liked the look back with Asha and Kingston.

Didn't really care about A + Cree...

Zora and Trei was cute too but really almost less than a vignette.

Man I love Asha and King though.

Considering this was ... SO short and the errors ...

C-- ... - but ... it was more ok than I liked it so .... D++?

So glad I finally came back around to this book and I enjoyed all the couples! So happy for my girl Zorya cause Trei is still Bae! I really wish I would’ve read this sooner because there was teensy bit of foreshadow for Alicia and Cree that I picked up on reading this and omg it’s all the details in her writing that makes me enjoy these books! The world building doesn’t stop even in these novellas! Definitely recommend this book!

A chance to catch up with my favorite Vegas Crew was happy dancing goodness. Asha and Kingston are adding more joy to their fold. Oh yeah. Cree and Alicia, my favorite bad@$$, so lovely. And then Trei and Zora... Yes, yes, and yes for this update.

Cute follow up to the series.

Happy to see Alicia still thriving. She’s been through so much. I can’t imagine acclimating to society of all that trauma. Good to have a strong support system.

Asha and King are just cute. Still cute and now gearing up for baby #2.

Trei and Z. I don’t remember much of their story. I’m ashamed. I must go back and read again or for the first time. Anyways, their follow up was just as cute as the other two couples.

Revisits to old characters are just amazing and beautiful. Especially when the author has isn’t forcing the follow up. CCJ never disappoints.

A holiday update on the High Stakes series crew. King+Asha, Cree+Alecia, and Teri+Zoe’s

🤔 I love follow ups on a series. The connection that is made with characters from a good book is real and should be respected. 😜
The growth you see in the glimpse of Asha is awesome, she and King kept the 🔥 burning and they did not disappoint in this short 😜. Alecia is developing into a real...woman and I love it! Cree is great for her! 💜 Zora and Trei are crush goals cause … hey! All I needed was a steamy scene from them and this book would have been IT! 😗 This was just a glimpse it was not as fire as the Valentine short that introduced Zora and Trei, because of that I expected more.

Quick look at our Vegas favorites

It was great to have a little glimpse at a few of my favorite CCJ characters.

I loved seeing Kingston in daddy mode. And it was good to see that he and Asha are still very much in; with a new baby on the way. I also loved being in the presence of Alicia 'Ace' Peletier again. Alicia is my favorite of all CCJ heroine's (which is saying a lot). I would've enjoyed more time with her and Cree and Alicia together, but the glimpse we got was nice.

I'd recommend this short to all the Ante Up, Deuces Wild, and Rose & Thorns books.

Love is in the air...

Catching up with my favorite people from the High Stakes serious was the best. Asha and King are going strong and bringing a new life into the world. Alicia and Cree are settling into co-parenting very well, but Alicia wants one of her own. Zora and Trei and still together, but Zora wants more and Trai gives her just that. This was so great and wanted more from these couples!!! I love a great catch up.

Cute

I love that Asha is enjoying joying motherhood! It looks good on her! Hopefully she will continue to learn that she doesn’t have to always be in control. I think it is so sweet that Alicia is wanting to have a baby! I hope that dream comes true for her. I’m glad that Zora and Trei are going strong! I’m super happy that Zora accepted Trei’s proposal! I’m glad that Zora is getting the life she is deserving of! I enjoyed catching up with my High Stakes family!

Awwwww, SO cute!!

I am so glad to catch up on some of my favorite book friends from Vegas, so happy for a peek back into their lives. Of course I wanted more from Ace and Cree's story, but I feel like CCJ will let us know how they are doing in on of her upcoming books... Or at least I hope she does! I love the way she reps for black love!

Family update

I love when Ms. Jones gives us family updates on some of our favorite characters. Just like they talk to her we long to listen to them again and she never disappoints. I’m hoping we get another look at these Las Vegas rollers and their next chapters in life because it’s always a beautiful journey. Awesome quickie🥰

A Happy Reunion

I was going through CCJ’s catalog to see which books I still haven’t read. I don’t know how I missed reading this one. I loved catching up with these characters again, even if it was a very brief visit. It makes me want to go back and reread all of the books leading up to this one.

This was a quick read. I nice little peek into the lives of some of the characters we fell in love with. King & Asha doing extra good, Alecia turning even more girly on Cree & I had forgotten about Zoraya! She grew up.

Vegas is where it's at!

I continue to be enthralled by all the characters and stories that have a Las Vegas setting. CCJ can't go wrong with King and Asha, Cree and Alicia, or any of the wonderful supporting characters and leads in the Sin City!

Holiday Catchup

I love getting caught up with characters. This was really nice, yet I would've loved reading about Jackson and Camille too. Maybe they'll be getting their own story🤷🏾‍♀️😉.

Either way, this was filled with just enough, yet I would always love more.

Wishing Well

When I read Ante Up I gave it 5 ⭐'s. I absolutely love that book and all it's characters. I love all the subsequent short stories that have followed it. Just wishing they were much longer and had their own books/titles.

Just wanted to finish this series while I was stalling tbh. I loved these ladies and so happy they are getting the endings they deserve—hopefully we can get more later but if not, I’m satisfied.
