In the frigid woods at the edge of a storm, I’m going to find myself or die trying.

I’m a fugitive of the fae city of Windhelm, framed for a murder I didn’t commit. I only made it out of their dungeons by luck, and now I’m on the run—but so is the Prince.

Nobody knows where he is, but my instincts pull me toward the Veridian; a roaring tempest of dark magic that roams the land of the winter fae.

Our trip through the forest is cut short, though, by a group of fae that seize our carriage and bring us to their village as their prisoners. The mark on my hand, the mark of the white wolf, is the only thing that keeps them from killing us outright, but if I can’t prove my mark is real, I’m only prolonging the inevitable.

I don’t have time for these people. I need to find Cillian before he does something stupid, but I don’t have a lot of options.

Nope. Nope. Nope. I tried. I really did. But discussing the Spice Girls is the last straw for me.

This review covers all the first 3 books of the series.

book one: 4 stars
book two: 4 stars
book three: 3.5 stars

I’m not even sure where to start with all of this because I have a lot to say but I don’t want to spoil anything so I’ll try and keep this as short as possible!

WRITING: could this be a new favourite indie author? I think so! Everything about this book had me clawing for more (so much so I finished all three released books in 24 hours) so that’s gotta show some talent, right?
PLOT: book one and two were definitely my favourites but that’s primarily because it focused on the selection & the trials they had to face were really interesting. I liked book three and for our main character to go on her expedition of finding answers. I have a feeling I will like the fourth book more as we are going back to where it started.
CHARACTERS: so Cillian has my heart and I honestly loved all our secondary characters! Gullie and Mira were hilarious and their interactions were great and I really liked the build up with the romance.

The only thing I can critique for all three books is that I wanted more world building and explanations for things and we didn’t get that. I was confused at some parts and wanted some more depth regarding the history of the fae world.

Overall, l would definitely recommend this series so far!

I dropped what I was doing as soon as this beauty landed on my kindle because I just KNEW it was going to be good. And yet, I had no idea!! It was even more awesome than I could have ever imagined! The story took a complete turn I never saw coming-which I love! The author knows how to ride the line between the perfect amount of detail and too much, letting me visualize the book in a way that flowed without getting lost in details. The characters new and old are amazing and I really connected with them and the story. I hardly ever cry, but I definite shedded a few towards the end. If I could give more than 5 stars I for sure would

Invested so I must continue

The whole wolf thing was a super let down for me. Of all the possibilities wolf had to be the one ? Well on to the next more curious than wanting to read it.

Did anyone else think that this book felt out of place?

So I recognize that a main theme in this series is our protag coming out of her shell and recognizing her destiny, standing up for herself, etc.. and that totally makes sense. We loooove a main character with development.

What felt... odd... to me, is her change in language. Not that she became more outspoken, but specifically the profanity she and everyone else started to use. If I remember correctly, book 1 had like.. a single curse word. I think book 2 had a sprinkling of them, and by book 3, I was almost sure Dee and The Gang were full fledged sailors.
I don’t have a problem with profanity- well, I mean I do have a problem with it- I can’t stop cussing in my own life! But I don’t mind reading it at all. I just don’t see what caused the dramatic shift in language. It didn’t feel natural to me. (I know I’m nit picking)

Something else I’m going to pick at, and I’m sorry- I thought the sex scenes were a little overdone. Don’t get me wrong, they were done well- I got a little flustered (ya girl loves some smut) but then there were just sooo many, and it felt like those scenes took precedence over the story. Which is CRAZY, because book 3 was like “BAM PLOT TWIST” “BAM NEW POWERS” “BAM NEW CHARACTERS” and for all intents and purposes, this could have been the best one yet, if those plots were the focus. I ended up flipping past the explicit scenes just to get back to the story.

Something that I LOVED though, and have to give the author credit for, is POSITIVE FEMALE FRIENDSHIP. This book is FULL OF THEM. No love triangles, no “girls don’t like me because I’m powerful and beautiful and ugh they’re all so dramatic” no way, Dee has an all-girl power squad of friendship. NA and YA books are notorious for forgetting to give their protags good female friends.

With the.. unfortunate ending to this novel, I bet our Spice Girls are going to have a killer adventure next book and I am PSYCHED!!! Sorry Prince, I kind of like your belore better without you..

I mean, i did read it, but the whole "lost princes" was a bit on the nose for me.
Plus, I kept waiting for the alpha to betray her. Not that she did, but she was written as if.

Read this as a part of a TBR challenge since I bookmarked this series when if first came out. I really enjoyed this series. I liked the fact that although there are trials, there is more to the book as this character is finding out who she really is and where she comes from.

I would have totally missed the release of this book if I weren't on Katerina Martinez's email list, I don't know why Goodreads doesn't have it under the series like the other two but this is definitely the third book in the Coldest Fae. Dahlia is on the run from the fae government and she still doesn't understand why she's even there. She finds a secret society and the magic gets even crazier.

I don't know I felt as though a couple things were just given to us in this book and I didn't like it as much. I didn't hate anything about it, I just felt like we were waiting a long time for certain things to happen and then they just kind of happened in this book. Like, the romance was building building building and was all the sudden resolved. The question of her parentage was a huge mystery and then it was just done? I think that the whole rival group plot line is interesting but I also think it needs to be fleshed out a little more before it's super unique.

I've liked this series, I also really like the covers and the way that they're progressing just slightly with the plot lines. I'll be looking forward to the release of the next one just cause I'm excited to see everything resolved.

Hmmm well okay I couldn’t finish it I’ll be honest. It got...weird? To start, I would like to ask who taught the author the correct usage of commas. I’m not a nick picky reader by any means but they just kept popping up in very strange places. I was about 60% done with the book when I called it quits and skimmed to the end.
Literal ghosts, weird dead parents trapped in a dagger, wolves, long lost uncles, LOTS of sex, and the Spice girls?
I loved the first book and most of the second but it seemed like our protagonist literally changed her personality entirely. I understand that she was made to appear human and they kept her away from magic as much as possible to keep her safe from Fate but a wolfy sexual awakening happened and it seemed like an entirely different person. I preferred the awkward, struggling real-ness of the earlier books. Also our prince isn’t that appealing to me. A cold, rude good looking guy calls you his soul mate and then bandages your wounds and all of a sudden you’re itching to get into his pants? And I do mean literally.

Just idk.. I lost interest

Bravo!!! Warning: cliffhanger ahead...so prepare yourself going in 😉. Its ohhhhh sooooo worth it, and I cannot wait for the final book to see what happens. This is the true gem where our gal finally discovers who/what she is, and begins learning all she can become. There is so much suspense, adventure and intrigue within these pages, and a few surprises too. If you've loved this series so far then this book WON'T disappoint. Spice girls activate (you'll get it when you read this book)!

Huh. This one was not as bad as the last book, but still it felt like the whole book 3 was dedicated to make the loser heroine become a mighty shape-shifting wolf, gifted with all the extra power that none of the other characters could possess and to glorify her.

What I liked,
• The scenery change. Book 3 happens in a deep forest side and in a hidden pack ground.
• Its refreshing to see some extra characters like Ashera, Toress, other pack members and as usual Mira, Melanie and cute Gullie were some relief factor.
• Prince Cillian, eventhough he felt bland and weak in the story, but him being possessed by Radulf rose my curiosity and have to wait & see more about that.

Now onto the final book of this series.

Ok wow! I could not put this down. I had to consciously think and then make myself go eat lunch! Dahlia really finds herself in this one, she struggles with who she is and finally starts to take control. I believe there are still some aspects that she is struggling to believe in, but she is finally getting there. It’s amazing that the way the story is coming together. The little paths that are twisting it up in your head trying to figure out the little side plots, so fun. There is so much drama and action, I’m really enjoying it all so much. I cam so excited there is more coming. I can’t wait.

WTH!! I have been hooked on this series from the very start, from where we met Dahlia and Gullie as they were kidnapped to the fae kingdom. This latest addition has left me stunned, breathless and a little speechless at the end, it’s that good! Dahlia has continued to grow and we finally get to see her come into her own as she embraces being the white wolf and her crew that have followed her have changes as well. There’s so much going on, there’s action, adventure, drama, magic, steam and the twists and turns I did not see coming especially that ending and yep there were a few tears shed! I simply cannot wait for the next book! OMG!

Dahlia and the others are trying to find the Children Of The Moon. Dahila needs to find out her mark, what she really is. Dahila and the others are attacked and rescued by the people she needed to find. Dahlia is going to find more about herself and more.

This book was amazing. The author immediately hooks you from the very beginning and won't let you go until the end. You will see Dahila come into her own and learn more about her family. She will have to make some difficult chooses that she will have to make. This book will have some twist and turns, especially near the end. I don't want to spoil it at all, highly recommend reading.

So much happens in this part of Dahlia's journey, She is becoming who she was meant to be. She learns who her parents were and what she is. I loved this part of her story and everything that happened. I do not give away a story's plot, so you have to read it yourself. I Loved It!
I received an ARC from the author and I am leaving this Totally HONEST Review because I choose to and I enjoyed every page!!

Wow! This is the third book in the series, and it's AMAZEBALLS. The steam factor is sizzling, the world-building is enchanting, and the characters become so real, you feel a part of their lives. Dee and her friends infiltrate a fae encampment, and learn her true identity. If that's not enough, her relationship with the sexy Prince Cillian hits all new heights. A must read!

Awesome

I love this series. In this book, Dahlia is accused of murder and must escape before she is executed. Her new friends are by her side as she learns who she is and what she may be. Cilliam almost dies in a storm, and Dahlia takes him with her. This book is a continuation of the series and ends with a cliffhanger. The book is full of surprises and intrigues.

More of the same, just as book one and two, but in a wolf pack...I'm not sure how I feel about female alphas in a Wolfpack, and I am all for girl power! Did enjoy the ending...even though I have that...going under the mountain feeling...

OMG!

Sooooooooooo amazing! Wow! This series keeps getting better and better with each book but this one really solidifies every relationship between our characters and it makes their growths so much more interesting. I loved this one and how it focused on Dee's heritage. She really grows a lot in this and I can't wait to see the vengeance she seeks in book 4. And finally we get spice!! Wooooo!

I Love the Narrator for this series unfortunately the next one isnt available on scribd but will finish the series up...

I wish there was more explanation on things in General, its all very Vague, still the Author illustrates the setting beautifully....

The story was ok... It Was Dahlia discovering her roots and herself more than the trials, but the ending Has Dahlia returning to the Palace.

She is annoying as Hell in the beginning..., But she really caught on. Damn, what she had to do was so hard but I knew it was going to happen. The way this book ended made me want to read more. Katherina Martinez knows how to write a book for sure. Deff keep me on a reading high.

My 2-star rating on this (a first: I rated the first two books at 3 stars each, and obviously liked them enough to keep going!) is in no way indicative of the writing skill or storytelling ability of the author. I've expanded my knowledge of the breadth of fantasy-romance novels by this point to know there really is something for everyone, and while this book ultimately didn't do it for me (I doubt I'll be continuing the series), I think it will definitely resonate with the right reader.

Things I liked:
1. I abso-frickin-lutely LOVE female protagonists that show real character development over the course of a series. This series doesn't disappoint. I can forgive a multitude of character sins if I feel like the events of the book/series are helping the MC develop into a genuine heroine, and you really start to see that full development in this book.

2. Female friends! REAL female friends! No love triangle back-stabby stuff, but a genuine girls' group of supportive female secondary characters! What is this exquisite madness?! 😍

Things I did not like:
1. Some of the choices the author made to illustrate the fMC's growing confidence. They were the sort of things that a rebellious teenager might consider "adult," but to an adult reader, they were a little eye-rolling. Again, this is probably because I wasn't the target audience.

2. I can't believe I'm saying this, but ... TOO MUCH SEX. 😂🤣 It's not that the sex was bad, or poorly written, but in this book, it felt like the plot just became a rack to hang the sex scenes on, instead of the perfect blend of plot and spice I'm looking for in a fantasy-romance novel. I cannot believe I'm actually complaining about this, because I'm normally lamenting the LACK of sex in this genre, but as any good cook can tell you: You can over-season a dish!

That said, I don't think the book or the series are terrible, not by a long shot! But I don't think I'll continue. Its perfect, appreciative reader is out there, it's just not me. YMMV. 😊
