In this issue, our writers explore the need for "Justifying the Margins." Justifying behavior carries a negative connotation. Justification has become synonymous with excusing behavior, resulting in an angry backlash. Too many examples of perpetrators escaping punishment, often for horrific crimes. permeate our news feeds. Outrage is growing. We cannot tolerate violence or hatred against our fellow earthlings any longer. We cannot allow the suffering of one group for the benefit of another. Not for any reason, excuse, or justification. But in this issue, we’re not justifying behavior. We’re justifying the margins—a term with an entirely different meaning for writers and editors.
