Till Death Us Do Part; a Pride & Prejudice Variation

Rate this book
A compromise at the Netherfield Ball leaves Fitzwilliam Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet stuck with each other 'til death us do part'. A completely new twist on the old FMS (Forced Marriage Scenario) trope. Relatively high angst.

This was a long, Long, LONG story posted in installments. Wade became conflicted on how he wanted the story arc to proceed with ODC. He was considering two different variations on how the story could and would progress. He, being the creative spirit that he is, split the installments into two postings. One was labeled Red and the other Green so the reader could keep track of the storyline. It was interesting to watch the outcomes from different perspectives. I discovered that I enjoyed one more than the other. This will be a long-haul read. It is not for the wimp. However, the HEA was worth it.

It's been awhile since I've read this, but since it popped up in my newsfeed I thought I'd take a moment to review it.

I really enjoyed this "sliding doors" style story.
It's truly remarkable how one little decision in life can take us down a completely different path. Elizabeth's strong, independent spirit shined through in both potential courses for the couple.

An angst filled forced marriage scenario that kept me spellbound through 75 chapters and more than 250 000 words.

The story devided into two different plot lines (the chapters were marked by green or red) after the wedding that was spurred on by an incident at the Netherfield ball. The red was ladled with excruciating angst and the green had a milder level of angst.
Both of our dear couple were innocent in the compromise which was staged by a third party but neither reacted with compliance nor grace.

This was a strong (headstrong) Elizabeth against a less likeable (horrible) Darcy who had to fight against adversity through sickness or a long separation. Loved the animosity between them that led to their characters development!
For a long time, an HEA seemed impossible but fear not, it was brought on with cleverness and plausibility.

I absolutely loved every minute of reading this story that sent my heart racing and made my hands tremble in delightful anticipation of what would happen next. Heartily recommend it!

Two for the price of one! This book starts with a compromise and moves toward the wedding for the first 4 chapters. After the wedding the book splits into two different story lines. I thought this was an intersection twist. You could read each chapter switching from the red to the green track or you could skip along reading g first the green track or the red track. Al though both tracks take you to an HEA, the red track is much more angst filled and takes a longer time to get there. I’ve read it a few times , first skipping back and forth between tracks and then just the red and then just the green, all 3 were worthwhile reads.

I thought there was real potential when I started this story, as I love when ODC is passionate and has strong emotions.
However as I turned the pages I found the style of writing increasingly tedious and “loose”, and finally too wordy. DNF

This was a type of choose your own adventure book but with just 2 choices. So maybe it was more of a break in the timeline, Back to the Future type of story to be more exact. One was very very angsty while the other less so. I have to say the first third of the book I was not impressed by Darcy at all. Come to think of it neither was I impressed by Elizabeth's lamentation, though I understood it better. I am not saying she as wrong to feel what she felt, just that that part got a bit repetitious. I was intrigued by how the angsty version went but was not happy with While I was dissatisfied by a few plot threads not going anywhere or not picked up in the other version of the book I still had fun.
