Always on the lookout for true love, Maddie can’t believe her luck when she meets Miles Denton, the police officer who has been assigned to her building’s case. Who knows? Maybe this was just the universe’s way of getting them together!Maddie and her best friend Hannah are quirky and fun to watch as they hold a séance and conjure up special concoctions to get to the bottom of the case. Think Lucy and Ethel, only with a touch of magic. If you like reading light-hearted witch cozy mysteries with the hope for future romance, join Maddie Bridges in this first book of the Garden Witch Mysteries Series. You might even learn a bit of botanical magic along the way!

I really enjoyed this witchy cozy and got a nice Good Witch (the TV show) vibe from Maddie herself. I got a kick out of her falling for the police officer Miles Denton and making any little excuse to call him. He seemed to have a lot of patience with her, so I think he might like her a little too. Sedona the cat was an absolute hoot! I love her character, and Hannah was a great bestie.

The scene when the girls went to bingo to see what was going on was pretty funny. There was a little twist in the mystery and a fun surprise at the very end. I'll be borrowing the next one on KU as well.

This was my first cozy mystery and I really enjoyed it! The perfect escape to a well imagined garden shop in the middle of the big city. The element of magic was just right, and left me excited to see what will come next for this cast of lovable characters!

Interesting.

Enjoyed the book but could have done without the iiky behaviors of the side kick. Loved the cat. And the author did a wonderful job of leaving you wanting more.

I really enjoyed the cast of characters, especially the familiar. I learned a bit more about witchcraft and plants and had fun reading it. I’m ready for the next in the series.
