A interesting book, moving through the decades/years showing the many steps (some difficult) he had to take to become a professional footballer, who is highly rated across the world, and as fans from many different countries around the world. There is both joy and sadness in his story, this book is well written, using a short chapter method which I like allot, only negative is lack of pictures in the book. In his early years he received massive support from his mother and father who both had sporting backgrounds, and found inspiration in watching Thierry Henry who was playing for Arsenal in their unbeaten season. He experiences the pain of losing his father young to illness, and the joy of meeting Anna at the university of Warsaws School of Education in Sports. Rejected by Legia Warsaw (his early years were consistently plagued by scouts from many clubs in Poland thinking that he was too skinny for the brutal level of professional football) via a letter that he picked up from the receptionist, to taking a chance in the Polish 3rd division from which he progressed upwards through the levels in Poland, finally wining the Polish League Title, along with the Polish 3rd division title, numerous top goal scorer awards, getting selected for Poland and scoring on his debut against San Marino and then moving onto Germany and being impressed by Klopp at Dortmund were he won the German League in his 1st season, then onto Bayern and even greater things, endless trophies plus being rated FIFA Mens best player of the year above both Messi and Ronaldo. The stuff of dreams.
