Jason Wake #3

Relentless Wake

Rate this book
While investigating a series of underwater explosions in the Virgin Islands, Jason Wake and his team of covert operatives are attacked by a mysterious group of highly trained killers. Fighting back and tracking their unknown enemies, they connect the dots to a vicious Russian oligarch obsessed with unearthing a famous lost treasure and spoiling a tropical paradise.

From the Leeward Islands to the canals of Venice and the rolling hills of Scotland, Jason will stop at nothing to take down the conniving criminal and ensure that any discovered riches end up in the right hands. Pushed to the edge, Jason will test his mettle against his most dangerous and vile adversaries yet—a deadly list of murderers that includes a notoriously barbaric former Spetsnaz operative.

Jam-packed with heart-pounding escapes, nail-biting confrontations, and a double shot of action beneath the waves, the third Jason Wake adventure is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat and leave you breathless.

Jason and his team find themselves in the middle of another big mess - this time with a Russian bad guy who was a crony of Jason’s no good dad. Lots of action in the Caribbean and other parts of the world. The stories are interesting; I just keep hoping the writing will improve.

Page burner

Being a 76 old man enjoying the James Bond movies as a younger man, this was better then a movie. Exciting and a enjoyable story.

Best writer ever

I don't tell about the book but if you like action adventure this writer is the best . His characters are detailed and daring. His choice of where the story takes place is beautiful and his craft of telling
a great story will keep you glued. I've got 3 days left before the next series on his Logan dodge book comes out and I may pull my hair out before I can get my hands on it.. !keep up the good writing and hurry up on the next Wake series please..

Outstanding

He did it again. Outstanding plot with a villain who are so vile, you want him to loose in his quest. However, you have a hero with an amazing team to foul his endeavor and save the day.
I am so vested in this character. He is so strong, yet vulnerable and committed to fight for others no matter the cost to himself. I worry with each page, if he’ll survive. Thanks so much.

Another winner really enjoyed this book....😊

And another Great read by Matty....nice work, what I like is a Billionaire moral Mercenary saving the little normal people from the dregs and Scam of society...... Jason fits in with the Jessie McDermotts, and Logan Dodge characters....

Matthew Rief is one of my favorite writers. Although being perfectly honest, I like the Logan Dodge series more than this one. This had an interesting story, with some unexpected twists and turns -- and was an entertaining read. I would recommend if you like the action adventure, crime-fighting genre.

Good Story, Good Action

I enjoyed he story and the action. The character is developing nicely.

For the writer:

Two incorrect words: When in museum, you refer to Kidd as "proficient" ; "prolific" is what you meant. Also in same scene, you use "swathing" the decks; "swabbing" is correct.

waiting in Book 4

I like Jason Wake as a character. His adventures are exciting and hold me to read past my bedtime. I love reading about the Caribbean- especially islands where I’ve vacationed and can relate to the descriptions. Puts me back on vacation in the middle of the action.

Absolutely NEVER

a dull second in these books!!! Snooze you lose is a valid warning here. So much going on that it got very difficult to keep it all straight. But so worth the read.

another great read

This book, like the first two, are excellently written. I use to teach writing fiction at a local university and Matthew Rief knows his craft. If you like action, read Matthew Rief books and you will be a happy person.

Solid thriller

Wake ends up pretty close to death again. Maybe others will be less near deathy . Otherwise a decent quick read

Fun read

Well thought out adventure moves quickly from caper to caper. The flying, diving and boating details are authentic and integrated into the story seamlessly.
