How on earth this book works i have no idea!!!

This book manages to combine characters and storylines from 4 distinct worlds/universes and seamlessly make a fantastic story and somehow set up another world altogether!!

RR Haywood has rocketed to the top of my favourite author list and I am now desperate for The Undead 25!

A SIMPLE MAN'S REVIEW:

Great concept, but not really for me. If you're a huge fan of this author, you might enjoy it.

Think of it sort of like CW's Legends of Tomorrow - the main characters from four different series come together to fight against something affecting all their worlds. The problem is, if you haven't read those series, you'll feel like a third wheel. You'll pick up some of the backstory along the way, but you'll always feel like you're missing something. And without the character development, the ones you haven't read about will seem childish and flat.

I had read two of the four series (liked one and disliked one) and I couldn't get into this book. There's nothing complicated about the plot, but structure and pace just make it a bit tiresome to read about these people I'm not invested in. And I'm assuming much of the content would have more depth had I read the other series, so I'm not blaming the author - I'm just not the right reader for this book.

If you've read the other series, give it a try! I hope other authors attempt something like this so I can try again with characters I'm more familiar with.

Your call!

Crazy nonsense but perfect for the crazy times we live in. A fun read and a lovely reminder of the other great books that I should read again some time.

Had put off reading this one until I'd caught up with all 4 of the different series and gosh it was worth the wait! Finished in 2 days by the pool with many gasps and OMG moments. Well done Boss you've done it again

Absolutely and undoubtedly the best thing I have ever read!

This book is like a gift to the RR Hayward SuperNerds! How he’s managed to pull together 4 completely different series and make it work I don’t know… But that’s why he is the God of all authors and I am amir mortal desperately waiting for my next fix! It’s daft, silly, crazy, funny, poignant and frankly comforting in this crazy time. Thank you Mr Haywood sir x

Amazing!

This is the book all is fans have been waiting for. I am gutted that I read it far too quickly.

Thanks for uniting all of our favourite characters. I was laughing out loud at times and must admit there was a tear or two.

A must read for fans.....but read all the other books first!!

The Four Worlds of Bertie Cavendish⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I love DR Haywoods books & I love the undead series,I like the other series too but The Undead is fantastic.Anyway this book is a mishmash of them all mixing together & Bertie causing mayhem & everyone running through all the world's killing the enemy & trying to find Bertie to fix what he has done before everything is ruined & the world ends so it's mad as they fight & race against time, war, undead & everything else to get Bertie back to undo what he has done. There wasn't time for the relationships between the characters to become stronger or even just to be together as it concentrated on the fighting so I did miss that bit.RR Haywood has an overactive mins like myself though he is a fantastic storyteller & I can't wait for the undead 25,definitely the best series out there ,I love the patter between all the characters& in this book the patter is brilliant too.If you enjoy reading scary series then you'll love this book & all his other books.I never ever want his series to end. You will enjoy this & other books from him.I Definitely love all his books⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Wow what a brilliant read. R R Haywood really is a master story teller (if thats the right way of putting it). His characters are so well rounded and you can picture them in your minds eye as your reading. Before reading The Four Worlds I would recommend reading The Bosses other books first as this book has a lot of the characters from the previous books in it. There's a lot packed in to this book and it takes you on a journey through different worlds that all the characters inhabit with a few twists along the way. I don't want to give too much away but definitely recommend you read it and has with all the Bosses books you won't be disappointed and will be left craving more. So if you haven't read any R R Haywood's book then your missing out on an extraordinary journey with amazing characters that you'll come to love and feel for, so get reading.

Have up 1/10th of the way in

So I started reading this book and thought "these characters sound familiar" then I go it, it was characters from two different book I had read about a year ago. Interesting concept, but the author assumed I remember both of these books and makes no effort to reintroduce the characters. I don't remember all the names and so they are,and I am not about to go back and re-read those book so I can understand this one.it's a shame because I like this author and was excited to see another book by him. Perhaps in the future I will go back and try to finish it,and perhaps later on in the book it becomes more clear. But he warned of you for remember these other two books you will have difficulty following this one.

A Wonderful Crossover!!

The Four Worlds Of Bertie Cavendish is a crossover between four of RR Haywood’s books; The Undead series, The Extracted Series, A Town Called Discovery, and The Worldship Humility. Before you read this book it is a must that you have at least read the Extracted series, A Town Called Discovery, and the Undead. If you have read these series then you will enjoy this book very much. All of our favorite characters are here and Bertie is just leaping across time and worlds without a care in the world and of course Miri and the team must fix it. I loved it and I can’t wait to see what Haywood has in store for us next.

Fan service? Absolutely. I loved it.

This book comes with a disclaimer that to enjoy this book fully, you should be a fan of the four series involved. And I agree with that.

This is my favourite book of this year. I'm a fan, you see.

However, if you are only a fan of one series, I think you would still enjoy this book. The downside is you will definitely like the other three, and there are spoilers for them in this book.

Simple solution of course. Go read all the other series, as they are consistently excellent and engaging. Seriously. Go read them.

Then come back to this and revel in the fan service.

Absolutely fantastic book. Bringing together the four worlds of The Extracted series, The Undead series, The Code series and A Town Called Discovery, the book follows the story of Bertie Cavendish and his invention of the 'time machine', enabling the movement to and from different 'nows'.
The way all of these stories have been brought together and written in such an undoubtedly perfect and genius way is unreal. And the little nod to another (bloody brilliant) book at the end finished this off perfectly for me.

Huge fan of RR Haywood, and this book has made me even more obsessed. I have now read almost every published thing that he has written and just want more and more. Perfection!

Confusing. Some parts of this book are a definite 5 stars (who wouldn’t love a T-Rex running around Berlin in the 40s gobbling up Nazis?) but overall all the flitting between worlds and timelines was too much. I’ve read all the series and LOVE the Extracted and Worldship books but still got confused as there were SO MANY characters to keep track of. Admittedly I read some of the books a while ago so maybe it’s just my memory letting me down!

Overall a great premise - I love a crossover - but just too much going on.

An amazing journey into the warped.mind of an amazing author.

When it was announced this book was coming out, I wasn't sure what to make of it. Four series of books merged into one, how's that going to work?

Well it does, characters past and present(which is fantastic) and a great storyline all.written at a remarkable pace.

As.ever RRH, you're the boss, the Bertie Cavendish of the writing world.

Wow

If your a fan of RR Haywood and have had the fortune or good judgment to have read his other books then this really is a must read.
How an author can take so many characters from his other novels and weave them into a story all it’s own is beyond me, but Mr Haywood does it with aplomb.
The humour, the emotion, the action, and the pace that fans have grown to love are here in spades; from the first page to the very last.
Richard Haywood we applaud you!! 👍

Headache

This has got to be the most confusing book I have ever read. I loved the extracted series. I liked a Town called Discovery. I was thrilled to see the characters appears this book. Then it all got to confusing to follow. I never read any of the Undead books so I just kinda figured them out. I finished the book but that is all I can say. Would not recommend unless u want to have a headache.

I'm not sure I have the words to describe this book in anything other than in a slushy number one fan sort of way. I've read all but the Undead series before and this brilliantly mixes all the characters and stories into the one story in the usual brilliant, funny and fast-paced way that RR Heywood is capable of.

Absolutely brilliant, absolutely gripping and absolutely impossible to put down!

Just wow

I love all of RR Haywood’s series (The Undead is my absolute favorite, so a certain someone’s return was absolutely amazing) - and this is the best of all of them. Really loved the twists and story, but the absolute strength of these books, to me, are the characters. You love them (and, in some cases, hate them), and that’s the absolute essence of great storytelling. Hope there’s another with everyone together. Amazing!

I read this book in August. I really enjoyed it but it prompted me to start reading the Undead series.
It was clear to me that I was missing something and I wanted to find out what it was. Now, having finished The Undead 24 I finally read this book again. Now it makes sense. It did before too, but a lot of detail was lost because I didn't know the Dark World. I do now.
For some reason this book just works. It is an amazing feat to join the different worlds and completely enjoyable!

I love this writers books and this one is no exception.
I would recommend that you read his other books first as you can then really enjoy the story.
At a lot of points I was chuckling to myself, at some points I laughed out loud and at a couple of times I was crying tears of laughter!
Read over a day as I had to do some work as well.

Loved this!

REALLY enjoyed this, I loved the "Extracted Trilogy" and it was like finding old friends again reading this, to say it's action packed would be an understatement, little bit confusing at times but easy enough to get your bearings again, for lovers of this author's works, and time travel stories this is WELL worth a read!!👍

To make 4 totally different worlds, all be it with similar characters, work together, a masterpiece that kept me turning ( well scrolling really ) the pages until it was done! Mind blown 🤯

Not only has RR Haywood created numerous series of amazing stories. But to put them all together and mix them all up! Just pure genius!
The only thing is, if you haven't read any of his other work, you won't have a clue what's going on!
So you better get started on this roller coaster!

What a brilliant concept drawing together the four worlds of the author's books into one messed up time travelling story with a nod to our current pandemic too.

I've read three out of four of the story lines merged here and this has inspired me to check out the fourth so I can get to know the characters more (if you are interested the one I haven't read is The Undead series).

Really well done. You have to read Haywood's other series first to get maximum enjoyment from this one since he brings together the vast majority of characters from his 4 series into this one. There is a lot of people to keep track of and the pace is chaotic though hence 4 stars instead of 5 for me.

A very enjoyable read!

Really really enjoyed this after reading all the series it is connected to, clever links between the characters I've come to enjoy reading about and some nice links between events and back stories. Well worth the read, more enjoyable I think if you have read the other series from Haywood already!

WOW!!!!!

Don't touch this ons until you've read Discovery, Worldship Humility series, Extracted series and a good chunk of The Undead (ideally Delio too) because it just will not make sense without them.

If you have, this is like a top bonus level prize, it is absolutely brilliant!!!!!
