Reader Praise for the ‘Signs of Life’ Series ★★★★★ Non-Stop Action. Thrilling continuation of "Signs of Life." Who would have thought there would be a mastermind behind the mastermind of the terror attack from the first book? I loved the character development in this story, from Deetz's daughter, Leena, to the evil mastermind and her sidekick. By the end of the book, I almost felt sorry for the mastermind. But not quite. On the edge of my seat the whole time. ★★★★★ Mind-blowing! As usual a great story with wonderful characters. Suspense and edge of your seat ride! Can't wait to read the next book in this series. ★★★★★ Excellent! Suspenseful, real, edge of your seat reading that you can’t put down. Another great read from Creston Mapes! I thoroughly enjoyed all 3 books in this series. The characters were well developed and believable. It was nice to read this type of series without vulgarity or sex.
Believable characters and family dynamics. Struggle between woman and abusive boyfriend. Policeman’s desire to protect family and please his wife battles with his commitment to job and financial concerns. Recommend to all who enjoy crime and current event novels.
Book 1: Detective Deetz is assigned a mass murder case in Portland. A high school teacher, Tyson Cooper, loses his wife that fateful day & wants justice for her death. How each of them handles this shooting makes for an excellent story that I enjoyed reading.
Book 2: This is a riveting story that had my heart pounding & on the edge of my seat, turning page after page. I had a hard time finding a good stopping point so didn't do that much until I reached the end. This can be read as a stand-alone but it does reference the event from book 1 so reading the series from the start might make the series more enjoyable.
Book 3: I know there are very evil people in this world that don't value human life. This book is about one such person. So this is not a "fun" story to read but it is very true to life. I am very glad the author had this bad guy get his just punishment. It is suspenseful but not as much as Book 2 in this series.
It's hard to remember the first two book of this three book series but I remember them as five stars. As you probably know, you don’t get a chance to rate each book of the series as you finish them. I could go back to refresh my memory but I'm not going to do that. If Amazon couldn't arrange to separate the system I'm not going to make the effort.
The third book of the series was the most successful mainly because of the evil character throughout the story. Nothing could stop his evil and nonstop wickedness. God did. But you have to read the entire story to appreciate the ending.
Truly suspenseful and a real nail-biting tale. Enjoy
I got books 1-3 and books 4-6 in two book series sets. I just finished book six. All six of the books were a 5 star in my judgment. Each book could have been a stand-a-lone novel. Each had their own unique suspense mysteries and each were wonderful.
From the first book you become one of the family of all the characters. I love Creston Mapes style of writing and his storytelling wit. I truly enjoyed the entwined Christian message without foul language, sexual overtones and graphic violance.
All Creston's stories are entertaining with a life message for internal peace and eternal future.
I truly enjoyed this three book series! The story was so true to the events of our time. Deetz was a truly lifelike character, a hero who had to reach deep inside himself for the strength to face the challenges of each day. And he faced them head on with unrelenting courage, never cutting himself any slack. He relied heavily on the strength God gave him each day. He was no super hero, but rather a police officer who went out there each day and dId his job to the best of his ability. I highly recommend these books.
OMG,a fast paced wild ride thru utter EVIL coming out Blessed !
Well, it was an absolute page turner, the story the suspense traveled at the speed of light never slowing enough to catch your breath, laced with many acknowledgments to the power, love and faithful I of our great God and how He never leaves you alone or forsake s you, just have faith ! I would recommend this work to anyone who has a heart or empathy towards others... This work was time well spent and stimulating to the very end.
In the process of reading every book that Mapes has authored. These first three books of this series are best read in order as there are some sequential story lines. Each of these books follow the same character, an investigative detective for the Portland Police but each book takes a spellbinding twist that will keep you reading.
It is so enjoyable to read books that are not filled with foul language and sensuous plots.
Great three books. Love the message of faith on the Lord we need to have a believe in. God answers our prayers different ways and will always be there for us if we believe ! The endings in all these three books make you reflect in what may be going on in your life.
Mr. Mapes is an incredible writer who puts you right into horrifying action. I had a very hard time putting this book down. I did feel the ending was a bit of a bummer. Not gonna say more as I don’t want to ruin anything for anyone else. Please keep writing, Mr. Mapes.
This is a fantastic series. The characters are great; I found Wayne to be especially relatable. I liked how fast the action was paced. These books are very hard to put down. I’m glad these came in a boxed set so that I could practically binge read them one right after the other. This author is a masterful storyteller.
This book was hard to put down. Plenty of action, the perfect amount of Christian teachings and loyalty and friendship! Crest on Napes has you feeling his anguish and pain, the tough decisions and the times he is living in. Great book.
I loved this series. It's the first books I've read by Creston Maples. Very suspenseful. It didn't take me long to read through the series. I stayed up half the night reading them!
These books are bad for you if you wanna get any sleep. You can't put them down. Creston is one really great writer. His books you can relate to them because of the way our country is coming. We need God now more than ever.
This author has created a thriller that is exciting and fast paced with a Christian base which is something you don't often see. It was hard to put down.
These three books were very good stories about a Portland police officer who ends up in some very complicated situations. You should go read them for yourself.
The word of God is strong and appreciation the authors say of giving the message through the story. The characters were set up well and the action was crazy fast..
I couldn’t finish the first book because of the psychological trauma one of the characters went through. These books should come with a trigger warning.
